Fun fact of how dominican republic got it's name, since I'm from there and there was not a single time it was showed in this amazing channel;
Dominican republic was named after a city that was named after sunday, or in spannish we'd call it 'Domingo'. Now to explain it, but make it simple. Domingo was the holy day for the spannish, they named one of their first and fastest growing settlements after the day. Or well known as 'Santo domingo'. And so on, the country gained independance, named themselves dominican republic- after that same reason. And dominica is kind of the main story, that's why they have simular names.
