I believe this is based on true story of Seth MacFarlane. I believe Seth MacFarlane was scared of Queen album cover when he was a kid.
There's no way this is just a random bit. I completely believe this had to have happened to Seth, if not someone on the writing staff. This is the kind of writing that comes from actual experiences, and that authenticity sells this strange B-plot. I wish they weren't so afraid of being this authentic in future seasons.
@@mightyfilmKind of like how i’d include a bit about being chased with decapitated turkeys if I was working on the show. And my dad still wonders why I don’t eat poultry.
@@mightyfilmYeah it’s way too specific to not be based on a true story
Oh good, it wasn’t just me.
I remember when I was younger, I used to be super creeped out by SCP 173
I have a feeling one of the writers was actually terrified of that album
Yes, it's so obvious. I mean it's way too specific
Seth MacFarlane actually was terrified of that album when he was a kid. It was based on his own experiences.
@@TheMbmdcrew I know, seems kind of obvious
Or one of their kids. They might have seen their baby freak out about it, so they decided to write it into the show.
who doesn't?

You can say that he really bit the dust
he's a good brother
Now that I think about it, yeah. Stewy is a great brother to Chris.
We need more Stewie and Chris interactions.
The scene in the episode where it's a POV of everything Stewie sees where he tells Herbert " keep your penis away from my brothers butt" said it all.
1:31 Funniest thing is I was trying to remember who Carl was in the Star Wars parodies and then he goes and says it.
I once sketched that robot on a chalkboard on a cafe wall and it did actually terrify people to the extent I was forced to rub it out
the robot?
You had to rub one out 😕

That ending was wholesome when Frank smiled...

😂
And no one is doing anything about it
I’ll tell what the news of the world is! We’re in a lot of goddamn trouble!
1:44 he should have seen the robot
That’s the joke.
Wait until Stewie sees the Judas Priest album covers, either Painkiller or Jugulator. He’s gonna need the soldier from Hybrid Theory.

The robot looks like some abomination from fear and hunger.
FEAR AND HUNGER MENTIONED 🗣️🗣️🔥🔥
FUNGER!!!
Fellow fungerer found?!?!?!?
Since no one has done it yet, I have the opportunity to explain the story of the robot to those few (I presume) who still don't know it:
The robot drawing was created by Frank Kelly Freas (known as the "Dean of Science Fiction Artists") as the cover of the magazine: "Astounding Sience Fiction" of October 1953 and was his first work for that magazine with which he would work for 50 years.
The cover represents the story: "The Gulf Between" by Tom Godwin (present in the magazine at the time) and was also used for some editions of: "I, Robot" by Isaac Asimov.
Roger Taylor, Queen's drummer, owned a copy of the magazine, which prompted Queen to ask Frank Kelly to make a cover for them, so he reworked the design, replacing the dead man in the original design with the four members of the band and since there was not enough space on the hand, he depicted them falling after presumably being caught by the robot that was later named "Frank" probably as a tribute to his creator.
Frank Kelly died in 2005 (2 years after the end of the collaboration with Astrounding) at the age of 82 but his drawing is still honored and mentioned everywhere today: I remember an Italian biography on Alan Turing with illustrations of "Tuono Pettinato" the whose cover depicts this robot holding Alan Turing after biting into the poisoned apple.
Obviously he didn't just draw the robot but many other works (almost all science fiction works) and he also worked for other magazines, including MAD Magazine from 58 to 62 and won numerous awards
The sci-fi magazine he worked for is still active today under the name: "Analog Science Fiction and Fact".
Sometimes a small gag can hide so much behind it, to see the world in a grain of sand, they say
Nice! thank you for sharing that. :)
never knew such a small drawing could have so much stories behind it, Thanks fam
thanks family guy for bringing attention to frank
Nice, this is cool to learn. 😊
0:58 Stewie: YOU SON OF A B****!
Brian: Good morning! Thoght I’d help you wake up a bit!
Stewie: GOD WHY DOES HE LOOK SAD!? HE’S ALREADY DESTROYED MANKIND, WHAT ELSE COULD HE WANT!?
My favorite thing about this running gag is how the giant robot at the end is animated like a Terry Gilliam cartoon.
4:21
This is my lost nephew! I finally found him, he has been lost for 60 mln years!
No way, that giant robot is a necron?

I've always wondered why nobody can understand Stewie considering they live in a world where a dog can talk
It is that way because….. uhhhh……
Shut up, Meg
Seth McFarlane has said they can understand him, the adults just choose to ignore him because he's a baby and not worth listening to.
They can understand him. Depending on plot convenience
this reminds me of a coat hanger my parent had when i was a kid. as a kid it was horrifying to look at that thing 12 am midnight
This is the first time I’ve ever seen this clip not sped up 100x
4:23 The way he smiles us so cute
The dude really said "Look over here!"
1:00
"God! Why does he looks sad?! He's already destroyed mankind, what else could he want?!"
Literally the most famous word
Ah why does robot hold dead people 4:01
"They're all fine." (Beat.) "Most of 'em are fine."
Sometimes, very occasionally, this show still gets really good lines and line reads.
0:58 the way he says it 😂
It’s a pretty good album, not as good as Night at the Opera but still pretty solid
Surprisingly stripped down production for Queen
3:55 jokes aside, this line is one of the hardest lines i've ever heard
Why the others isn't around to help Chris? This scene is terrifying to me. I'm glad Stewie is around to save him. 3:15
Now that I think about it - it is a bit unnerving.
1:38 *What* *is* *This*
0:55 stewie basically doing a distorted scream is so funny and when he says “why does he look sad?! he’s already destroyed mankind what else could he want?!?! 🤣🤣🤣
0:54
"I'll tell you what the news of the world is: we're in a lot of god damn trouble!"
This will forever be my favourite line from Stewie. I hate how they censored this on non-DVD versions...
"Is that future or past" 😂😂 always so many instant questions about it
I like how the giant robot wholesomely smiles and gives a thumbs up :)
I-i can still hear the buff mercanaries!
This is one of the funniest Family Guy bits icl
Family Guy, for the longest time, was my "throw on in the background" I've pretty muched watched all of seasons 1-10 multiple time.
For some reason this episode is one of the most memorable. maybe its just cuz I love Queen or classic rock in general but this episode just sticks with you, Especially that ending! The animators did a great job at bringing the guy to life, like the Iron Giants evil twin >:)
Wait, that's not Nathaniel Bandy.
3:01 THIS IS JUST AN ALBUM
Im so used to seeing this sped up lmao
that zoom in every time
I was literally thinking of this scene like 10 minutes ago, google must have gotten me that pre order neurolink 💀
This made my night🤣
Stewie and the Asian guy are me when I see Geno from Mario RPG
That robot smile was actually pretty funny
1:26😂😂😂😂😂
I think I never related more to a sketch than this one. I'm terrified of that robot.
I’ll bet money one of the writers was scared of that album cover as a kid so they made it into an episode 😂
Well, Seth McFarlane used to be scared of the album cover as a kid
The birth of a meme format
One of the most relatable moments on a personal level.
I was staying at my aunt’s place when I was a kid and she had a huge green painting of a face and I remember screaming and running away the instant I saw it.
“Hey uh … thanks for letting me be Yoda.”
The ending is unexpectedly wholesome.
Bud is basically scared of the king of all cosmos
I guess that Stewie managed to "Fight from the inside" his fears
And so, from the scene with Rupert, we can see that Stewie did get a shot off, and now he's in hell, where that robot will haunt him forever💀
So that’s where that meme was
This just unlocked a core memory for me what the fuck
This is the original clip? Thats awesome
Them: Its just an album
The album:
Uncensored 2:18
*WE'RE* *IN* *A* *LOT* *OF* *FUCKING* *TROUBLE* is what I thought he said it but it's not lol
4:22 I love this part
That's so funny, I was afraid of my dad's record of News of the World when I was kid too 😂
I found the album on iTunes. It’s got a good selection.
This must’ve been one of Seth’s personal stories from when he was a child
I can't bear to watch this after watching the sped up version. I'm so used to it, I get bored watching this in normal speed.
To be honest stewie being scared of a album cover and being scared is the most wholesome and relatable thing (besides the suicide) to happen in a family and isn't another gag thats "remember that time i"
Remember:Stewie is still a baby
sheer heart attacked
Imagine his reaction if he saw the "in the court of the crimson king" album
Fun fact: the artwork the giant robot comes from was originally titled "Fix it, Daddy?" implying the robot was a child who had accidentally killed a human astronaut while playing with him.
Okay why the hell did the album cover become a real person all of a sudden? That is not how you end a conflict at all!
This is definitely child-me. It took years before I was comfortable enough to even approach a Goosebumps book. The covers were so scary!
Moral of the story: sometimes you can be able to overcome your fears, and use it as a weapon against others to make it someone else’s fear.
this is the first time i saw the original image
I find this really funny because it reminds me of how I was scared of some of the stupidest things as a child.
Just realized Carl is the same voice actor for Archer and Bob's Burger.
4:06 Me After watching the 2020 Sonic Movie

"Most of them are fine"
Damn, this is actually very accurate
2:43 At least he remembered that Freddie have died from AIDS in 1991 and John Deacon left the band 6 years later.
4:21 the corpse of king Minos
As a child of the 1980s, I can relate to Stewie having the fear of that album cover. Without going into any embarassing details about my past, I'll just say that certain 1980s album art and music videos were, as the kids today say, built different.
No but why does that album look like something I would be scared of when I was slightly younger? 🤣
This clip sounds so strange without it being low quality
oh my god the original clip was a queen news of the world joke???
Wild animals:why do they look so sad?! They already destroyed animal kind, what more could they want?!
