...the security of a couple who know they can't exist without each other....and, in turn, we can barely exist without them.

I also think they see a challenge in the other that draws them in. Aziraphale knows that there is some (a lot, in fact) good in Crowley, even as the demon tries to pretend there isnt. Meanwhile, Crowley knows that there is some wickedness in Aziraphale, even as the angel tries to pretend he is sooo holy and above all of that. Both seek to bring to the surface these qualities from each other, all the while they squirm in any attempt of the other to do so. In the process, they balance each other out by making each other more, well, human!
They way they both just look down near the end but turned toward each other with small smiles as they think about the sweet dynamic of their characters 😍

Oh yes! Azi KNOWS that even if they argue, Crowley will come back and that Crowley CAN'T say no to him! ❤
I think another thing is that they are both looking for deeper connection that they can't get anywhere else. Aziraphale is fundamentally decent and selfless, and from fairly early on during his time on earth, he starts to find that his personal sense of morality is butting heads with what Heaven wants. This is very stressful and upsetting for him, and Crowley is the only one in the universe who understands. Meanwhile, Crowley is even more alone in some ways because God gave up on him and he was forced to serve Hell, a work environment that fosters cynicism and distrust. Yet, Aziraphale trusts him. Aziraphale has faith in him. He's the only one who does, and that is priceless and irresistible to Crowley no matter how much he says he detests being called "nice" or "kind." And Aziraphale, though he tends to be conflicted at times, is like Crowley in that he's not content to simply go along with whatever his side wants if it goes against what he believes in and cares about.
Personally, I think this is the deeper reason they're drawn to each other. I definitely think the fact that they are polar opposites is part of it, in that they challenge and teach each other and make up for what the other lacks. But when it comes down to it, I think they are both looking for emotional intimacy --- someone who truly understands them, and there's a safety and security in the way they relate to and rely on one another. And that has more to do with the ways in which they are alike than the ways in which they are different.
