    I have had my heart set on getting a Yeti for I do not know how long. About 6 days ago I happened upon a comparison study between the Yeti 32 ounces and the Ozark Trailblazer, 32 ounce. I was shocked how evenly matched they were, with the Trailblazer having a dark top and a spot for a straw. Both went into the next day and beyond with ice still there. So I bought the $8.94, Trailblazer instead of the over $30 Yeti and used the money saved to buy the Yeti to purchase a $9.98 sliding lid replacement and a Big Mac with change left over. It has been a fun week for me.

    Thanks for the video and thoroughness of redoing the test and seeing it through. Also appreciated the selection of the brands most of us would like comparisons done on.

    That’s crazy, I saw a video a couple years ago comparing an Ozark bottle to a Yeti bottle and the Ozark came on top. Crazy to see the results are the same in your video years later.

    Sooo, I wanted to love the Trail series Hydro Flask. Picked up on Thrusday had through weekend, driving to work Monday, hit my brakes flask rolled to floor board, I couldn't reach it so I had to wait to get to work, picked it up and scratched ALL over it 😥 my brand new $50 beautiful blue trail series was completely marred just from rolling around on my floop matts. To say that Im disappointed is a vast understatement. These thing are made to be durable, my hibiscus hydro (had for 5 years) doesnt reveal scratch only dings. Something to consider for those that are doing research. Yes they are much lighter!! But, b/c of no powdercoat the slick reflective finish on the trail series that will most definitely shows even the smallest of scratches.

    Just a side note......No one ever does a taste test when comparing these items. I originally bought a Hydro Flask and was seriously disappointed at the fact that it felt like I had a mouth full of coins when drinking from it. I did some research and the Yeti has a copper layer in between the other layers to take that metallic taste out of it. I bought the Yeti and have never gone back to anything else. I guess there may be a reason they cost more?

      Maybe this is a silly question but would that coin-taste also be because it was new? I wonder after one or two washes the gross taste would go away.

    I have a Zak! brand. I paid about $10 bucks for it. It's about 32 oz or so. It keep ice water in it ... in the car while I work and come out 6-8 hours later. The interior measured 140 F, the outside of the bottle was 120F, and still has ice water in it. It keeps ice water without much melting at al if left on my counter over night.

    I know you put the same number of ice cubes in each, but did you put the exact same amount of water in each of them, or did you just fill it up to whatever capacity it was? I think maybe that would make a difference, too.

    I think you have a fake yeti. All my yeti’s all keep ice in them for over 48 hours, hydro flask lasted maybe 12 hours, swell lasts well over 36 hours and the rest… way less than 6 hours

    • @akern333
      @akern333 Před 2 lety

      @@PaulPeckham I wasn’t saying it’s fake, I swear! I should’ve clarified that it think it’s interesting how no matter what brand of bottle tested, they all seem to come out with different results. When Swell was a big thing I somehow got a ton of the same size as gifts so I did kind of what you did. Took so many ice cubes in each one, all the same size. Each one lasted a different amount of time. Some 10 hours and one lasted days.
      I have the yeti you tried, the one with the handle & straw, you’d think the one that doesn’t see light would last longer right? Nope. My one with the straw holds ice for days- even when it’s left to bake in the car at 100% humidity and 98 degrees. I did really enjoy your video though. Really interesting!

      I worked at a store that sold a few water bottle brands, Yeti and Hydro Flask included. The Yetis sold like crazy while the Hydro Flask collected dust. Eventually they had to be moved away from the front of the store to make room for more Yetis. It must be the power of a brand.

  • @wh1776
    @wh1776 Před 2 lety +1

    Of what real value are these tests? They are not useful in the real world. Who fills a water bottle daily then does not drink from them? What does it matter if one stays colder twice as long than another - all will be emptied several times during the day before the water loses it’s cool? To me price and durability are far more important.
