I'm in the process of finishing up mine now. This is sheer foolery!!! All the hundreds of hours of writing my dissertation and thousands of articles included in my research that it takes to become an actual Doctor. It's great to give them out (honorary degrees), but they weren't meant to be used as titles, simply as recognition.

Well, since you asked…an honorary degree should reserved for geniuses who have made tremendous contributions to society despite lacking the formal training. They have achieved their accomplishments the “hard way.” It is not supposed to be awarded for publicity. It is also supposed to be a way for a university to recognize amazing feats. So, in this case, being an RHOA and owning a franchise type of clothing company does not qualify. I’m so sorry. Summer, fall, early spring??? But, perhaps I’m wrong. A medical doctor in her own right who was married and living with her husband, or 2. A woman who was married and living with her husband who was a doctor in the medical field. These two rules applied 100% to each cast member for the first nine seasons. Who Phaedra dated is futile; she was brought on (unmarried to medicine) to the show to boost ratings. It is not far-fetched or "dumb" to wonder if Sheree would be cast either.

I don't agree with Honorary Degrees being given to people who have not contributed to that field of study at an exceptional level, because there are many people who went to school and study hard for their Doctorates in Non-medical professions. I have friends who've earned their Doctorate in Education and Social Work and they still don't refer to themselves as Doctor. I try to encourage them to do so, because this can influence younger people who look up to them.
