    • @csec-maths-chem-paper1s
      @csec-maths-chem-paper1s  Před 21 dnem +1

both equations represent the slope-intercept form of a line
in the Caribbean, they probably use the word gradient more than slope
      and you'll probably see y = mx + c more than y = mx + b for the equation of a straight line
but altogether, they both (the variables b or c) represent the y-intercept, the value of y when x = 0
ask chatgpt4 if you want more info, ask it which one is more popular worldwide~

if you really want to use your brain-power to think about something
      riddle me this:
check out 3b from the May 2024 CSEC Maths Paper 2
      3b ~ czcams.com/video/jN8rZ0Pwn-g/video.html
you aren't given which pair of sides of the triangle are equal
so why is LR = RT? you might say because the triangle is isosceles
by that same token, LT = LR, why? because it's isosceles
or LT = TR, why? because it's isosceles
so doesn't that mean there are 3 possible values for x degrees?
there would be 3 cases to consider
so doesn't that beg the question to just assume which 2 sides are equal?
so at this point of deduction,
we're faced with 3 possible isosceles triangles; with angles:
      76°, 76°, 28° or 28°, 28°, 124° or 28°, 124°, 28°
and notice is all cases, the two remote angles sum to external angle LRN = 152°
because vertical angles are congruent and alternate interior angles are congruent
we know for sure angle RLT is (x - 28)°
but what is the other angle, 28° or (x - 28)°
we still haven't established which 2 sides are congruent
      which are the base angles?!

XY is parallel to the line containing Z, lets just call that line AZ
      line XZ is a transversal
angles YXZ and angle XZA form alternate interior angles
      alternate interior angles are congruent
given that angle XZA is 35°
the angle within the triangle is also 35°
XY is perpendicular YZ as indicated by the right angle on the diagram
the angle at Y is a right angle
interior angles of a triangle sum to 180°
      in triangle XYZ we have

CXC uses the same questions but modify some of the given information/data,
      even with the charts/diagrams questions
So you gotta keep alert for subtle changes on seemingly similar questions~
There are a handful like that I've added to a playlist
I didn't get a chance to put all 200 questions I had planned for it yet
But here's some worthwhile to check out

hey for number 8, pay attention to the inequality sign
notice 0 is an element within the integer range defined
now, plug in 0 in choice B
      notice the inequality is false,
so that couldn't possibly describe the integers they're asking for
so number 8 is not B

@@Zesus15 so it's not as simple as number of elements in X plus number of elements in Y
you then have to subtract the number of elements that both sets have in common
so it's like the number of elements in X union Y is:
      number of elements in X
plus number of elements in Y
minus number of elements they both have in common
that last piece is necessary because we double counted in the sum

      the inverse matrix question?
the only way I see you might think that is if you took the determinant of the modified matrix instead of the given matrix
you multiply by 1 over the determinant of the given matrix, which is 1
and then you swap the main-diagonal values and negate the off-diagonal values for the inverse matrix
practice here, just click on 2 x 2 and put in matrix values

the lower quartile is the 25th percentile, right?
      so the cf-axis value you take 25% of students, which is .25 x 200 = 50
and then we draw a line from 50 on the y-axis towards the curve
then down to the x-axis to find the corresponding mark, which is 30 marks no?
could you explain how you're getting 37.5

in standard notation, it isn't right?
because the number multiplying the power of 10,
has to be a number less than 10 and bigger than 1
      so it can't be B~
or more precisely that number is
a real number within the interval (1, 10)
