My CXC paper 2 mathematics is on monday i’ve been struggling with math for years but i’ve been getting better and been studying I hope I get minimum grade 3
Thank you for these tips on how to pass CSEC Mathematics because I failed CSEC Math last year June/July 2021 sitting so I started to get back the concepts up and running. My thing is went to math extra classes in my scheme, My School-Based assessment was good, I went to the exam, I prayed to the Almighty God, I was very nervous and I turned the Paper 2 I looked at all the questions and I did some questions on it and I don't know everything. I did Paper 1 my headache blows out in the exam. I know Paper 1 is repeated and I don't know some of the questions. My profile grades were Knowledge (C), Comprehension (D), Reasoning (E) and I got a four-oh, my God. So this year 2022 I will be able to pass the exam with confidence and trust in the Almighty.

I was so aiming for a 1 but I didn’t complete Paper2 because time ran out 😭😭. I think I left about 2-3 questions out of section 2 😩. So true about the multiple choice, majority of the questions were on past papers I did. Ok edit. I completed every question in section 1 let’s hope they’re correct 🥴
CXC uses what is called a Criteria referenced Exams where students are judged on a set of predetermined standards. Unfortunately though they do not tell us what percentage gets a grade 3,2 or 1. But like all exams make sure you get over 50%
the best thing you can do is start looking at past papers. Being in grade 9 means you should already be able to execute properly on question one and much of question 2. By browsing through the papers and attempting those questions you are familiar with you will be doing your confidence tremendous service
This applies to students that attends schools, what about private candidates ? They might as well learn everything because there’s paper 3 that you didn’t speak about & it consists of the latter in section 2 which is hard
This is a difficult one to generalize as studying is a very personal matter. Ideally January is a good place to start. many schools devote the entire 5th form year to studying. COVID and its realities have dented that however and many schools find themselves teaching up to the exam , which severely reduces revision time. Many students like to pace themselves while others like the pressure situations. Whatever works for you is what you should do. But generally give yourself enough time to practice comfortably. Best wishes in your examination. Believe in yourself that you can. Most students who don't pass find that after the exam is over they can work out many questions on the paper. The problem as I see it is fear, anxiety and tensions that cause unbelievable stress which causes students not to perform at their best, may those emotions be banished from your mind and heart and may you approach the exam with confidence and calm.

yes, be calm, you know many things. Ho into the exam, breathe , find the easiest question and start with it. Do the ones that you know and do them well.
"This paper comprises two compulsory questions. The given topic(s) may be from any section or combination of different sections of the syllabus" Those are the words that CXC uses to describe the paper. Page 8 of the syllabus. If you are a private candidate doing paper 3 you actually prepare for paper 3 by preparing for paper 2 as widely as possible.

Formulae should be used in the context of solving problems yes. You may have noticed that cxc has a habit of making students create formula from existing formula or pushing students in ways that allows thinking outside of standard formula. So , yes, know your formula and you do get a formula sheet for the exam
SBA is a school administered and guided paper done as a collaboration between student and teacher. The teacher being the guide. The fact that you are homeschooled may mean that you will register independently. That kind of rules out SBA. You will most likely be doing the paper 3 options
Never, I'm starting to study today and trust me I'm not the smartest student. But I just believe in myself and that I will be successful. Look it's never too late to start. And stop procrastinating cause doing that wastes ALOT of time. Pray and ask God for the knowledge, wisdom and understanding, and ask him to bring what you did back to remembrance when you're sitting the exam. YOU GOT THISSS....
20/20 is perfect. Please remember that the exam has three components, SBA, P1 and P2, I am routing and hoping for you. Given your diligence in doing your SBA i have no doubt that you prepared for your exam and I am sure you will be successful
15% is not bad but why take that when you can get the full 20%? You have some more time to improve that grade. make sure you get as close to 20% as possible
Gooday sir my group was marked low in our sba however 2 of them are doin cape cause they got 6 passes .if i got low in my sba what can i do too get a grade 3 or 1 . Not too sure of the percent we got all i know it's low

Work hard on the paper 1 and hopefully if you have a good sba grade then you’ll most definitely pass just work on the paper 1
