Go Kim! Go! Your riding is impressive! I think this is my new favorite episode. It so cool seeing you two ride together, and I’m loving the bike setups. My off-road riding future has been up the air for the past 5-1/2 weeks. Hopefully upcoming surgery (April 4) will cure what ails me. If so I hope to make my ‘61 Jawa/CZ as capable as your trusty Mountain Cub. Keep up the good work. You’ve helped me maintain my sanity over these past weeks.
First off, you are one lucky guy! Your wife is awesome and looks fun. Secondly, why all the damn forest road closures? Total BS. I stopped by the ranger station and they gave some me garbage about too much rain and snow bla, bla, bla. As you just found out the conditions were epic! This is the best time of year and they have us closed out. Ugggg!

Great to see trail riding marital harmony in action and Kim is a very good rider! My pal had the road going version of the Triumph 'Tiger' Cub, as it was known here in the UK; back in the 1960's. I always thought it was a very capable little bike, a cut above my own BSA Bantam. I'm not surprised to see it performs well on US trails as it was popular for trials here, and was successfully ridden by the 11 times British Trials champion Sammy Miller!

Started out riding a Triumph Trophy 250...didn't know any better so rode it off road w/ trials tires. Wishnit had it now. Amal, Smith, and Lucas, all worked for some reason.😊

I've never owned a new bike, so no comment on that..
The terrain and vegetation there is very similar to where I grew up in southern interior of British Columbia. The part I think I miss the most is stopping for lunch in the perfect spot & having a sandwich out there with Mom Nature!!

We did the same thing, make do with what you have, the American way. I really enjoy your videos.
My wife and I rode together for nearly thirty years in Wyoming.....all kinds of weather and terrain. What a bonding experience. She rode mainly an XR200 Honda and I rode various bikes.....my go-to bike for riding with her was a KDX 200. When I rode the Husky's with more cc's and long legs it was too easy to run away from her. All three of my daughters rode with me for years and were very good riders, too. My son was a go-faster and was always on the edge of disaster...I could never slow him down and he lost interest. I always carried a well-organized butt bag with enough tools, etc to rebuild a small block Chevy and we rarely had a ride that we couldn't fix a downed bike. Screws, nuts/bolts, black tape will generally get a person home.

Triumph Tiger Cub was a great bike in its day. My (now) wife had one back in the late 1960's.
Got to watch the bottom end though. Bearing/bushing in there wears out.
late to the viewing, but it sure looks like a blast riding the trails with the wife, my wife prefers 4 wheels on the trails in her 86 Samurai.
It's all fun!
It might be worth getting a sprung chain tensioner on that Cub for trail riding. I had my first Cub in the sixties, and I'm building another in the garage. Thanks for the ride. And she does look good on that Cub.

Awesome footage, Man! Your wife is doing great. Is your twin a 500 or 650. I've always loved Triumphs, but never owned one. I've had many dirt bikes, raced 250 enduros in the 60's 70's here in Kentucky, southern Ill, Indiana, and Tennessee. Had everything from DT-1 Yamahas , Honda XL's, and KTM/ Pentons. Absolutely loved the 250 Penton. It was a great bike, as was the '82 400 KTM, my last serious bike, which I didn't ride much after tearing up my left knee snow-skiing in '84. I'm 77 and still riding with the kids and grandkids on minibikes and dirt quads, etc.

If you haven't already I'd put a good o ring chain on the Cub, otherwise I very much doubt it will last 50 miles without stretching like knicker elastic

My wife and I could never do this. Gravel is as "off road" as I like to ride and my wife would kick me off a mountain before she let me pass her.

In my experience - the heavier the better. Start with 50W and see how you like it 👍

It's Whitworth.
Yes, it’s Whitworth, and most people will tell you need them, but I’ve made do with standard and metric and adjustables for years. The only tool I have that’s Whitworth is a hammer.
You are so lucky having a wife that follows your hobby and is a decent rider herself. My wife is not interested in anything biking, they say opposites attract.
