Like everyonr else in North America. Thanks to you the decks I build will last so much longer since you showed us G-tape.
I also love the painters tape. Works great for olding down paper on floors for interior work.
Doesnt do so well, however, holding up poly on open doorways.

Always used Vycor until G-Tape came along. Dr. Decks knows what he's talking about.

Just used this based on your vids. Love it. Zero jokes about the gloves. Forget getting off...lol... Good stuff.

I used the 2" 3040 on my deck because of an older G-Tape video you did. Glad I did because most of the tape you see in stores is the thicker butyl stuff that the sides peel up on because it doesn't stick as well. As far as gloves and applying the tape, barehanded all the way. I lightly applied to the joists in the middle for the entire run. Then came back with a rag in hand to smooth it out and wrap the edges of the joist.

Love your video! You know your shit! It shows, plus you should keep making these " how to" videos, cuz your great at demonstrating and explaining .

I applied joist tape and wow does it get super hot in the sun. Can barely touch it for long when applying. Will the tape transfer heat to the deck boards and make it hotter to walk on during summer?

If your kerf the underside of the 5/4, both sides, the water will run off the joist, it works

Would be nice to begin by telling people what G tape is and what it's used for specifically.

Is it worth the effort and expense installing a joist sealing tape for composite decking when your using hidden fasteners. It seems to me that the hole made by the fastener would compromise the tape seal? Any thoughts?

      It’s self sealing tape.

My fiberglass deck leaks at the terminations and I was going to use this G-Tape over paint on the parapet wall and the door threshold and the other side on the textured fiberglas deck - at least until I completely redo my deck. Will the G-Tape adhere to paint and textured fiberglass and will it make up the undulations in my textured fiberglass?

Replacing my 1,500 sqft deck and I've been using the 36" wide rolls of ice & water shield peel and stick rubberized roof underlayment and slicing it into 4" wide rolls with the sawzall because I can get 8-9 4" rolls for $80 which saves me about 50% vs the G-tape. Any problems you see with that?

    IS GTAPE COMPATIBLE WITH AZEK?

I'm trying to find out this same answer. Ref video from DIYer on his video regarding this point of compatibility with the deck itself. Why preserve the framing if the deck itself goes bad first.

I will answer my own question. AZEK PVC decking is not compatible with bitumen asphalt. GTape is compatible.

My deck is going to require 30 rolls of 2"x50' tape. If I pay $40 roll it will cost $1,200! Can someone please tell my why Butyl tape from Amazon at $7.99 roll will not work the same?

All Dr. Decks uses is AZEK pvc and G tape. So it is compatible.
