That wasn’t the awkward part it was the part where she said she was in love with her brother. A term you don’t typically use for your siblings. When you use terms that you don’t typically use it leads to… Wait for it… Awkwardness. Why didn’t you point out that she was smiling and wonder if that was the awkward part?

Although the last one was tragic,most of the other ones were just human and not awkward especially Gwyneth Paltrow crying I mean if you won an oscar you would cry your heart out too.
Hawk Eye yeah and watching somebody cry their heart out is awkward. Watching somebody fall down is awkward. Having awkward moments is part of being human. What was the point of bringing up the fact that everyone in these videos is in fact a human being? Was anybody on here saying wow I can’t believe that these non-human beings had awkward moments? Why does everybody have to argue everything?

@@elisejackson2854 I haven't seen "Moonlight" yet, but that was an awful situation, and it might have hurt the movie more than if they had not decided to do it justice by announcing it as a true winner right away.
The "La-la-land's" team was already on stage, and this was such a brutal and sudden rejection. I'm sure it was just as awkward for the "Moonlight's" team to get on stage after that. And anyway, there are often more than one movie among the nominated that deserve to be called "The Best Picture", but there can only be one, of course.
So, the situation was very poorly handled, I hope they have developed a proper protocol just in case after that.

I think they mean "awkward" meaning: embarassing or overreaching. When someone is so thirsty for attention that they dress like an idiot or say/do weird things in their acceptance speech, I'd absolutely say that's awkward. That being said, I agree with many on here that Marlon Brando's moment should not have been included.
