I feel for the operator, ripping rock is very hard on both operators and machines. I hope that whoever bid the job put in plenty of cushion for the maintenance, and the eventual replacement of the unit. You can see the suspension flexing when he’s ripping the really big stuff. I would either blast or use an excavator with a rock ripper, or even a breaker on an excavator. Put the salesman and your boss in a big dozer ripping rock for 10-12 hours and I’m sure he’ll get you what you need! Be safe, brothers! 💪🙏🤙
Nice video of very competent operator doing some work that is tough on machine tracks and above all the operator , driving that for 8 to 10 hrs a day will be hard work constant jolting from the rock and having to keep your self pushed back in the seat when working at that angle Much Respect
This guy is doing pretty well with what is for the circumstances a small machine. Using the slope and the weight of the machine to his advantage. I've watched a few of these videos from this site and this guy is getting way more done it seems than anyone else
Weight of the Machine, Gravity, Power, and Most of all Good operator, He seem's to know his stuff, Hook into it and slew, rive it out sideway's, Great vid.
Considering the type of rock and terrain operator is doing a fire job! I've worked steep slope with larger and smaller dozers great job of conserving fuel at altitude and protecting the equipment to get the job done!
I have been thinking the exact same thing my friend!! I been wondering, Just what in the hell are they doing up there!!???? What are they doing so much site-prep for??
It is, but having an operator like this guy that is slow and steady, He will get a lot done and work the machine without breaking it down. I'd hire him in a minute.
That ground would be better ripped with a 70 ton excavator, keep the finer ripped material under the tracks as a cushion and to give grip. I'd say there running/repair costs will be high trying to run the 9 in it
I guess it's better to drill and blast that massive and hard rock formation than bulldozers and excavators which preferably are used at post-blasting stage .
You don’t know much about heavy equipment to make a statement like that , this machine like the one I run In Alaska has 20,000 hours doing this everyday , it’s what big iron does laddy
Nope. It is not. You wish it was though. Anybody that knows anything about dozers knows for a fact that it is completely impossible for that D9 to push more weight than the Komatsu 375. Completely Impossible.
Having been a dozer operator for 50yrs + and done some blasting in that time I don't think drill and blast would work that good in that type of materiel because of too many fault lines in the rock, plus there maybe buildings nearby by that could be the reason why they are not blasting.
Having 50 + yrs on dozers and still doing 5 1/2 days a week I would say he is doing real good considering the material and the slope he is working on, if it was my machine I would be happy for him to operate it, not like some you see here on youtube operating machines that they shouldn't be allowed to even be near let a lone operate them.

Get this man a D 11

Cutting a path through the mountains making big rocks into smaller rocks hard days work for man and machine.
An extra cushion on the seat always helps 🤣

Doing well with the D9 in that stuff
What a View while at work!
Great job
A D9 is no slouch!!
Take note, don’t buy this dozer at the next Ritchie Bros auction
im just wondering why theyre on top of the french alps pushing giant rocks off the edge of the cliff. what are they prepping for?
I have been thinking the exact same thing my friend!! I been wondering, Just what in the hell are they doing up there!!???? What are they doing so much site-prep for??
Nice!

Do you also have a video of the Case excavator?
That was some brutal prying with the blade. I would definitely sell off this unit after the job is done.
What are they building up there Gilles?
Great video!!!
Ski run :)
Is this the piste in led gets
Le chauffeur doit bien dormir le soir !
best dozer video
What a job working in the French Alps what they actually doing with the rock
Joliii !! 🍹👌
Good grief, they will have to put grousers on that thing every two weeks. LOL
D9R good
super vid in mountainside cat power
I know someone’s going to say this is what they are built for but damn that has to be hard on the machine.

1.Excavator much effective to break this block stones.
👏👏👏👏👏

Il arrache tout le D9 😲 CATER POWER 💪💪💪
La vrai puissance! Cat diesel power

Probably need to stay away from that particular D9 in the second hand market.
Its just doing what it was built for.

That D9r is pushing more than the Komatsu 375 in the other vid
Way more.

They should have used D11 more power easier on the machine this terrain is hard for D9 operator could have worked less and produce more
What are you building
Ski run
Hope I don’t buy one these at an auction when there done 😂
What a waste on equipment! Drill and blast would accomplish so much more!
Having been a dozer operator for 50yrs + and done some blasting in that time I don't think drill and blast would work that good in that type of materiel because of too many fault lines in the rock, plus there maybe buildings nearby by that could be the reason why they are not blasting.
Without adoubt to push matrial the bulldozer is the king
Il faut du minage !
D9 not big enough for this
Looks very unproductive to me, 9 needs a real operator !
He is getting the job done. A job like that takes patience.
Im thinking old Davo has never even sat in a Dozer seat.💩
@@killingoldgrowthsince Wrong answer buddy D10's and D11's all my working career owner/operator for over 35 years !
@@davoupnya3202 ok, you don't have a clue then. One or the other LOL
