    I worked at Rock Quarry few years right after high school. Sure was fun! getting Paid to play in the sand box with Big Boy toys. Course back it late 60s D9 was the monster which the quarry only had couple. I ran D7 17A cable dozer for while topping stock piles and clearing out drainage ditches, wasn't there lone enough to work up to the Big boy.

    a lot of people wouldnt appreciate the shear volume and tonnage of material this is actually pushing along. given it looks to have a clay content to it and anyone who has worked with clay knows just how heavy and crappy it is will understand this is a beasty machine

      It appears to change very quickly from reverse to forward. Is that characteristic of a hydrostat drive?

      @@eric1138 Yep, the 776 is, apparently, "the largest hydrostat dozer IN THE WORLD!!!", nice and user friendly for this sort of back and forth work

    I think the tracks are not tight enough, in reverse the pins and bushing are trying to climb the sprocket teeth, or maybe that is something unique to the high sprocket drive. Never did like the way the track on a high drive jumps around anyway.

      I guess it's better to keep it in the family, more control over the build quality(just my thoughts).

    I know what kind of material that it’s pushing, I worked in this kind of material a lot and it can be difficult at times specially if it’s wet, but if it’s on the dryer side then a good operator should blow through this with no problem. I have noticed one about this Dozer it has very small skinny tracks on it . Now that’s just my opinion, and besides just look at what he is trying to push , it’s not like he pushing a mountain at a time.!!?

    He is being inefficient. Just as the blade is getting full the cut is getting flatter and the dozer can't push as much then it breaks over with a light load. Cut the close stuff first and keep the weight of the dozer working for you instead of against. Why push on a curve?

    • @alco4248
      @alco4248 Před 4 lety

      He already cut the material where the bench flattens out. He's no longer cutting the bench deeper, so he carries the material he has cut from behind across the bench to the edge.
