I’ve been really enjoying watching your hammerhead content, maintenance and upgrades. Potentially looking at getting one soon and seeing everything up close through your videos has been very helpful, thanks!

Thanks, appreciate that! Keep an eye on the used market and look for a platinum that’s been sitting. Usually you find them cheaper with carb issues. You’ll want a 26mm carb anyways. It’s an easy swap and will save you some money.

@@farmfixesandfun I’d love to get a used one for cheaper, as long as the engine was maintained properly, that’s my biggest concern. As far as I can tell, if buying new, it has to come already assembled from some kind of dealer, which costs extra on top of the msrp + tax + whatever other fees they tack on. No way to buy the kart in the crate, and do the final assembly yourself like I’ve done with the cheap Chinese buggies in the past. Getting a used ASW Carbide would be pretty cool too. What’s your opinion on the Trailmaster xrx 200? All these karts look 95% the same, even the same frame design and welds, especially on the rear swingarm, but it seems that the hammerhead may have a higher quality gy6, maybe higher quality metal for the frame, etc? I do like the fact that hammerhead added an oil cooler and filter for their engines. Cheers!

@@Vlad_Portnov are you planning to mess with the engine at all? I like the Hammerheads better than the Trailmasters. Parts are easy to find and I find the fit and finish better. The Kandi I have can be a pain to find parts for. In my fleet, the Hammerheads are more nimble and peppy where the Kandi is better offroad.

Eventually I’d like to buy the nicer cylinder head like you showed and the upgraded piston I’ve seen on hammerhead performance. Probably not the 170cc upgrade though, so I don’t have to mess with boring the crankcase. I’ve had the same issues on getting parts for the cheap x-pros we have. We’re in a neighborhood so it’ll be driven on roads for the most part, at least for now. I’ll likely get some sunf road tires and a second set of rims to start. Then, the intake and exhaust upgrade from hammerhead that you installed.
