Walgreens "Movie Night" Deals - DVDs and Blu-Rays - Fall 2023

I went into a Walgreens over Thanksgiving weekend, and to my surprise, they had a cardboard display of Blu-Rays and DVDs! So, here's a quick silent video showing what they had at my local store. I'm not sure if they have these at every single Walgreens store, but I'd imagine it's at many. Most of these fit into a 2 for $5 price, but others were a bit more expensive. It looks like many (or most) of these are previously viewed and re-sealed, and this is most notable on the Blu-Ray cases, which say that only one disc is included despite being multi-pack casing. Even so, the prices seemed quite reasonable, and considering how many of the big box stores have either provided slim pickin's or completely exited the physical media game altogether for the holiday sales, Walgreens seems to be a top spot to get a movie or two! Sure, many of these may not be for collectors like me who like everything to be "complete", but especially for folks just trying to get a quick movie for the kids or something, you can pick up something like Toy Story 4 for just $5 on Blu-Ray...not bad! So for those looking for some physical media before the holidays in 2023, you may want to take a quick peek inside a Walgreens store and see if they have anything.

Some of the "Walgreen's" I've been to either have Physical Media or not! In the past, they sold VHS and DVDs and later, Blu-rays. I wish they sell 4K UHDs at bargain bins prices from drug stores and supermarkets.

My Walgreens doesn't have this. My local Discount Drug Marts do though. These exact bins of overstock and used, resealed titles!

DVDs at walgreens have a really sketchy feel to them. there's always bizarre bootlegs scattered in the mix that i have no idea of where they're getting them. still, good selection of old releases, but still.

I would've passed on the movies for 2 reasons
1. Saw nothing I would've wanted
2. I have about 53% of what they had for sale already

I'm pretty sure most, if not all of those are bootlegs (especially the DVDs of Tom and Jerry and Cats). I'm not sure how or why Walgreens sells them, but I guess they do
