Heather Renée Sweet, known professionally as Dita Von Teese, is an American vedette, model, businesswoman, and burlesque dancer credited with repopularizing the art form in the 21st century. She sits down with host (and self-proclaimed superfan) Eileen to reflect on her start selling lingerie in high school, creating the persona of Dita, her former marriage to Marilyn Manson, her present dating life, and caring for her mental health.
Can we all just sit for a moment and appreciate the fact that this woman is now in her 50s and still looks AMAZING?
Would never guess 50.
No.
If what you mean is she still looks young, then yes it’s amazing, but many women in their fifties who can afford to have cosmetic surgery look young. Personally I don’t think you need surgery to look amazing in your fifties, and I don’t think we should sit for a moment and appreciate it if someone looks amazing in their fifties. Or at any age. Very patronising.
However, nothing on her face moves other than her mouth. I know plenty of woman who look naturally AMAZING
I more appreciate when that are not stars to age like Alicia Silverstone and Drew Barrymore. Both ladies have never done plastic surgeries and still have expressive faces.
I wish Dita would’ve had the chance to finish her thoughts, without constantly being interrupted 💔
Yeah, same. Like I get that it's a conversation but the host didn't seem to realize just how much they interrupted her
I feel like I picked up on that within the first 5 minutes. It's a shame because she is a good interviewer. Maybe she will see this and work on doing better.
my thoughts exactly! happened many times throughout the interview. It felt like the interviewer was thinking up the next question, rather than listening to the answer Dita was giving in that moment.
@@dustinchaney321 she asked good questions.... but I would have liked to hear the answers in full!
Exactly the interviewer needs to stop adding commentary. Like shut up and listen to this legend. Lol she was like you climbed the ladder?? Like did you not hear what she said she was the first to do many things like dude she paved her own path in that industry.
She's so fascinating to me. She nailed old Hollywood glamour in a way no one else can touch. I like her a lot
period.
This interviewer was out of her league. Dita handled it like a well spoken glamorous pro.
Years ago I had the opportunity to meet Dita briefly at an AIDS charity event in Dallas, TX. She was the headlining entertainer for the event and she had done her famous martini glass show. As one of the bartenders for the benefit I offered her something to drink post performance, as I noticed she was standing completely alone near the bar, not talking to anyone. She was so incredibly polite and soft spoken and I could not get over how gorgeous she was up close. She looked like a living doll. I really had to force myself not to stare. She definitely has an energy that pulls you in.
Lucky! It's so amazing to read stories like this.
embodying divine feminine full force she does!
Met Elizabeth banks in 2012ish? She was already “old” by then I thought she was my age I was like 28 at the time she was like 40
@@williambarringer6513 ?? Thanks for that totally unrelated, pointless observation.
@@mattm.5933 she was better lookin than this women, like your comment was so profound
All she says about Marylin Manson is that she doesn’t want to talk about Marilyn Manson
Thank you
Thank you! Just saved me a hour and 12 mins of my time.
Dita: "I don't like taking about my relationships."
Interviewer: *immediately asks about her relationship*
I love that she made a maternity line like this, because it gives women an option to feel luxurious if they want to. No one is forcing you to buy a bra you don't want, but having the option available is probably a really fun thing for a lot of women.
I didnt know she had a maternity line! Dita is right on about women wanting to feel pretty while breastfeeding. The maturnity and breastfeeding bras are ugly and utilitarian. I would have liked to have some pretty things while going through that time of my life .
That kind of bras existed before. She just makes money. Her fans are buying her lines.
Yeah, them things are ugly, so are maternity clothes. That's why I didn't buy them, wore a whole lot of spandex. I would definitely have bought some of Dita's
What a lovely interview. Dita has a slower energy, and she carefully crafts her thoughts before saying them, so she does need a little more space to get her words out :)
The interviewer is horrible
I would like to see Courtney Love interview Dita.
It's cool, you don't see that many introverts in showbusiness
I love that. Thinking before speaking is a virtue that's truly not exercised enough
Or, she speaks normally unlike the anxiety inducing people who speak too fast and are too intense
It was like watching a high-schooler interview an Icon for the school radio. Very little professionalism on the interviewer's side (a special mention goes to holding the canned Spritz Cocktail throughout a 1-hour interview), while Dita was impeccable. What a beautiful woman and a unique Artist. Dita is a well-spoken, intelligent, graceful, remarkable individual and a true Star on stage.
Yes sweet Jesus the spritz 😅
No, it’s a talk show I disagree….
Well because she comes from her own paradigm and is incapable to go beyond, in the present moment. I dont' know how to expalain in english. Its like this generation has grown up under a dome ( a terrarium), with a finite reality and is not capable of transcending. I hope it make sense.
Yeah she unnecessarily interrupted Dita a lot 😅
Agree.
So many missed opportunities to ask certain questions. Also, Dita was saying such interesting things and I would've loved to hear her finish her thoughts!
I thought the same. There have been so many interesting moments but the interviewer never tried to dig deeper. But we will maybe find some answers in the upcoming documentary.
I also realized that too. a lot of the answers she was given she could've elaborated on the questions instead of just moving on to the next question. there's some things Dita discussed that I definitely would've wanted to know more about instead of asking a question right after
Something about her grounds me. I don’t know if it’s her gentle energy in such a harsh world, but I wish there were more like her
I completely agree ❤❤!
Dita was exceptionally polite during this excruciating and meandering interview.
right? this was hard to watch, but Dita remained composed whilst being interviewed by a teenager, seemingly.
She must be very intimidated by Dita, but also not strong people skills. Dita is so graceful ❤
Dita is always very poised and self-possessed but this interviewer is way out of her league, it seems. She's either very young or very inexperienced with someone of Dita's caliber but the interruptions are distracting and the lack of nuance in her questions puts the burden entirely on Dita to carry the whole interview. And she did.
That being said, I don't think I would have done a better job interviewing her myself and I don't mean to criticize Eileen. Dita is one of those people who are larger than life, and almost seem like a character they are playing but they are hiding the real person from the rest of the world. I'd imagine it would be quite difficult to interview someone like her authentically while not coming across as nosy or perverse. So in this regard, I think Eileen did an excellent job of interviewing Dita. It had to be a difficult rope to walk.
So true
I would’ve liked for Dita to not have been interrupted. She couldn’t finish her thought without the interviewer interjecting and making assumptions about what she’s about to say.
Yes!!! She kept trying to explain what she was just talking about as if for some reason dita would be misinterpreted when she articulates just fine without imput.
I LOVE Dita Von Teese… she’s such an icon for female empowerment. She’s been consistent in her approach to life. She doesn’t jump on bandwagons which is what makes her iconic
For the podcaster, something that would go a long way for listeners (me at least), would be to hold back from interjecting to finish the guest’s sentences. It’s distracting and the guest should be given space to finish.
It was painful to hear all the interruptions, but balanced out by Dita's rich responses. I get thats the interviewer has some interesting thoughts, but we came here to hear Dita's thoughts. And it feels like the interviewer stopped her in some of her speaking tracks and thought trains, so that she could say what she wanted to say.
So that she could talk about herself and her opinions.
It's really infuriating. Like no one is watching this for you, we want to hear Dita. Biggest pet peeve when someone isn't really listening and they cut you off mid sentence to place an incorrect assumption. Like how hard is it to just not speak. Maybe she was nervous, but this was not a great interview. Dita was great as always! Classy, calm, and fascinating! Dita should have a podcast her voice is so soothing.
It was extremely annoying, oh my!
Not just interrupting but also finishing Ditas sentences, thoughts... Luckily Dita corrected her when she miscalculated.
Yeah, I had to stop listening because I was getting so irritated that she wouldn’t let Dita speak. I came here for Dita, not the interviewer!
In my opinion, (all) CZcamsrs need to participate in some form of media/interviewer training to improve and refine their skills. Because it’s interviews like this that really highlight their weaknesses.
I also noticed that Dita (very politely, delicately and with such impeccable etiquette) was trying to move away from the political topics, only to have the interviewer lean in harder with those sorts of questions.
Dita’s voice is so relaxing; loved to hear her thoughts!
I love how Dita has such a strong influence that even the interviewer tries to emulate her vocal tone lol
I think that's Eileens natural tone lol
She definitely started mirroring Dita's actions (playing with her hair, specifically).
I know ! Shes a very talented witch lolol
It’s a common interviewing technique to mirror the interviewee.
I noticed that too
Dita is incredible. Why is this 27 year old host trying to validate her and trying to teach her how to live? Always giving her advice where it was unasked. I think Dita's got it figured out, just let your guest speak. Good grief.
Personally didn’t get any of that from this interview
It's nice to listen/watch a podcast host let their guest talk and not interrupt them. Dita is beautiful, unique and well spoken.
Exactly she doesn't need you to dumb down what she says. Lol she is much better at articulation than the interviewer.
I have adored her for 2 decades now! I met her and spoke to her briefly a few years ago and she is just as lovely in real life as she is in all her interviews. A true, elegant beauty. ✨️❤️

Dita is one of the sweetest celebs I have ever met (used to be a nonprofit fundraiser). My best friend and I had won some tickets to Marilyn Manson back in 2002/03 and we ended up in the VIP area. Dita was there getting her own drinks and spending time with fans. She took time with each person and really listened to what they had to say.
What I like the most in this interesting interview is how gentle and quiet the words are carried. It is like a brain massage to me.
Omg she has a documentary coming out? Best news I've heard so far this year!!
Someone get this beautiful woman to narrate all the books. She has such a soothing voice.
This is like a battle of the soft-spoken.
What an amazingly together, intelligent, down-to-earth person.
Dita..such a beautiful soul. Truly lovely. one of a kind in this world today. Love her
LOL oh no... She is THE Dita Von Teese, no introduction needed!! She has so much poise, but I can see the silent rage. Please honor your guests more.
I love Dita, she handled this interviewer very well. The Interviewer’s questions about Stalking and Dita’s Security measures were super intrusive.
Interviewer: I know you’re young, but you need to learn to listen more and talk less and all of the interrupting and overtalking should be worked on.
Listening to her it’s clear what a lovely, creative woman she is. Also very kind. But certainly not a pushover… She respects herself and others that are in her orbit, and that is so refreshing. Good job on this interview… I know they can be intimidating sometimes. I had seen her on aCZcams video Welcoming people into her home. It’s interesting and beautiful and reflects her so much now that I see this. Thank you & Dita 💜✨
She's so intelligent, classy, beautiful and well spoken.. bravo Ditta!! We must surrender to your charms Ditta, you've worked hard for everything you've got! 💝💝💝
I was disgusted with the way Dita was treated when she made the statement about Manson. Still makes me sad.
Dita is a great lady. She is so glamorous, sensate, smart and unique woman. She is my inspiration ❤
Dita is so graceful & very knowledgeable,I enjoyed watching this interview but towards the end it was kind of a repeating thing that while Dita was answering the questions she would get interrupted by the interviewer cutting her off , yet Dita would gracefully try to keep going to finish her sentence . It’s not intended clearly but at the end of the day becomes annoying and is disrespectful . Only stating to create awareness as how to be respectful of her energy and giving the time to be on the podcast .
She is a beautiful woman but never realized how lovely her voice is.
I'm so glad to see Dita here! She has been such an important part of my personal perception when I was in my mid-teens. She encouraged me to stick to my guts about the things I was inclined towards liking back then, even if I was completely alone in it (and don't be mistaken. I did like old Hollywood themes, but my style and all else were on the extreme opposite). Little did I know that she would help me reassure myself again and reclaim my confidence now, in the beginning of my thirties. Thank you so much for sticking around for us, Dita!
what a beautiful ASMR video. thank you, both of you. You guys' voices are so soothing...
Dita is just a stunner all around.
I wish with all my heart that Sean Evans from Hot Ones could interview Dita. He is hands down, the best interviewer! Sean does extensive research before the interview and asks questions that no one else does. I feel that the questions Dita is asked, from the interviews I have watched, could easily be answered reading Wikipedia. I couldn't finish watching this interview, very redundant topics and a lot of interruptions. Dita was lovely, gracious and classy as always.
Yes, Dita has more interesting things to say .
This channel came up in my recommended (I’ve loved Dita since I was in high school in the late 90s), and I am so thrilled! Both Dita and the host have the most glorious and soothing voices. Can’t wait to watch more interviews after this.
Dita, I know you don’t read comments but you are a class act. Thank you for influencing my style and helping me find and embrace my feminine side at that awkward teenage phase when I needed it most. Xox
Dita, an incredibly beautiful and articulate woman! 💕Class act all the way!
This interview is a gem! So many of her interviews cover the same topics and this one just went deeper on many levels. THANK YOU for asking different questions. ❤
Classy and sophisticated-love her work and her creations ❤
very humble, approachable, and down to earth, I must say. great interview. my compliments
Hand it to her. She is a artist. She's a style icon who's appreciated by audiences that are sophisticated. Unfortunately people lump everything into one category in America. Striptease isn't on the same level as pornography. If you've ever seen her home it's a reflection of what inspired her creativity. She could easily be a designer and decorator. Respect too for not exploiting something that easily could be something that would draw attention to her.
Could tell there was some nerves during this, but you did a great job! I hope Dita returns down the line so the conversation becomes more casual and comfortable.
love her calm energy
Not cool how the host keeps interrupting Dita when she’s speaking. I wanted to hear what she was saying.
I think the interviewer was great at moving the topics along. She was soft spoken and intelligent. I enjoyed their back and forth conversation.

I really enjoyed the interviewer's calm demeanor and have always loved Dita! A fashion ICON! Subscribed!
Loved this interview ❤ had the privilege of meeting Ms. Dita’s mom when I was working as a dancer in Boise, ID back in 2009. She was a lovely woman as well- just supporting the girls and the arts. 🌹😊
asking extremely famous (legends) people to introduce themselves is a NO NO. you should always do it. asking them to list their achievements and accomplishments is very awkward and off-putting. it's better if you, as the interviewer who invited her, sings her praises.
100% agree, only 10 sec in and already a WTF moment
I have always loved this woman's style, it has been a wonderful and interesting interview to listen to, she really is extraordinary.

i loved this ep
I randomly came across this thanks to CZcams recommendations, and it was a lovely dialogue- I knew about Dita von Teese, but I don’t think I ever watched a lengthy interview of her, she sounds like a levelheaded and lovely person, and it was a pleasure to listen to her stories and views ❤
This interviewer interrupts a lot.
Right?? I noticed this, and she kept finishing her sentences when took a breath to think 🥴
@@RIOTrhiannonIt was kinda disrespectful. Dita was the guest and she shouldn't have been interrupting and talking over her.
@@RIOTrhiannon yes, she's actually a good interviewer but she's inexperienced. That's an easy fix to stop interrupting and not step on other people's statements- or assume she knows what they're talking about.
I wanted to scream so many times.
Dita is so calm and confident ❤
I’m not going to tell any of the stories because I really like and enjoy Dita, and been very impressed with her as a human being but I’ve been around her in her private life and home, and she was always a lovely person to be around and was the most amazing hostess I’ve ever known. No matter when or where it was she always seemed to be the same person and was wonderful and fabulous and seemed to do it so easily. She’s still one of my favorite people from that decade of my life. She deserves everything she’s created for herself.

Love Dita very very much!! A REAL icon and inspiration!!❤️
The fact that she equates someone being loyal to her and not cheating to a ‘fairy tail’ and ‘setting yourself up for failure’ expecting your partner to not cheat is pretty sad
I respect your opinion foremost, but I personally disagree. I think that it’s important to have a mutual understanding in a relationship that the other may not always be able to fulfill the others desires. You can try to deal with that, but it can also be very rewarding and fulfilling to have consentful exceptions and make rules about them. I myself feel that the love for my partner is even stronger, knowing that that person is happy and loved and being able to trust that they love me, regardless of their sexual desires (for example kissing/having sex with someone else). Being intimate with someone else, doesn’t have to mean that your relationship becomes less intimate or honest.
I don’t think she equates not cheating to being a fairy tale, but I do think she’s being realistic about the emotional complications that can come with a monogamous relationship and that she’s learned that those relationships aren’t her cup of tea.
@@sjoerdeltink your experience and choice is fair and valid...but it's a different topic from what the OP said
@@sjoerdeltink if you're okay with your partner sleeping with other people... that's not cheating lol
