60 Minutes, the most successful American television broadcast in history, began its 52nd season in September. My mother-in-law is 96 years old and has never in her life voted for a Democrat. She has re-registered as an Independent and tells me she's voting a straight Blue ticket all the way down. When she said she'd never seen the country this bad off, I asked how that could be, since she'd been in her 20s when WWII took place. She answered that yes, we were at war then, but we pulled together as one nation. There are millions of Republicans just like her -- good people sickened by the spectacle in the White House. Country before Party.
It's sad that at 96 she hasn't learnt in all those years who the people are that are trying to destroy this country.

The Lincoln Project should form the core of the New Republican party.
The Republican party is a dead brand, no matter what happens on the 3rd of November. There's no way forward for them. They are the party of Trump and they will go down with Trump. What's interesting about The Lincoln Project - without putting aside the effort they've exerted to put out a fire that they themselves started - is it brings people together in the centre and that's a very interesting conversation. I would really like to know what separates them from Democrats? Are they just fiscal conservatives (in which case, they lost their party long ago)? Where do they stand on social issues? Health care, etc.?
Even so, if the GOP experiences the electoral bloodbath that everyone is predicting, they including The Lincoln Project, will and should be in the wilderness for a long, long time. I used to think that way but then I realized how far to the left the left went. If u keep going to the left. It’s not even America. It’s China. If you go to the right it’s America. You can go right right right and never be to the left and still be in America. Remember that.

I am a Democrat, my husband is a Republican that has changed his party due to Trump, and the Republican party changing the way they run the Republican party! I have always realized how important both parties are in Congress. I hope the Lincoln Party will be the new Republican Party, they are very honorable Men!
Although I'm a democrat, I'd actually be impressed of having the REAL republicans renaming their party the Lincoln Party since he was it's creator. Don't let tRump hijack Honest Abe's party and rebranding it as rasict, xenophobic sexists...
