One with Olympiakos, one with Aek Athens and one with Palmeiras. With Olympiakos it was volley after controlling the ball over chest. With Palmeiras and AEK scored from outside the box.

Sometimes he had insights and made great passes due to his precision, but generally was selfish and so many times made bad decisions. His performances for brazilian national team were very criticised in my country. In the last games of 2002 World Cup, he clearly was trying to become the topscorer of the tournament and prefered to shot instead to pass to Ronaldo. He didn't have a good performance against Turkey and was doing nothing against that weak Germany, the worst player on the field, until the goals of brazilian side. After the 2002 WC, he flopped in Milan and Cruzeiro and never reached a great form again.
He scored too much because he was more a forward than a midfielder, had a powerful and accurate shot, good dribbling skills, headers, positioning in the box, was a penalty and free kick taker.
The guy probably is trying to praise Rivaldo's playmaking skills saying he had great vision. Even neymar is a much better playmaker.
If you wanna know a true brazilian genius that was a world class playmaker and a prolific goalscorer at the same time, i suggest you to search for Zico, the greatest brazilian player after Pelé, even more talented than Pelé in some ways. Actually very underrated, even in Brazil.

This guy scored more goals in his career than some great strikers of the late 90’s and early 00’s, that says a lot from him that’s just staggering he was so damn good, technique,power, composure,finishing ability, and could dribble past opponents with ease. For me he’s one of the best 3 attacking midfielders/shadow striker/winger whatever position you may think suited him most I’ve seen in my life

What I love about Rivaldo is that he was very objective.Dribble when he needed to,only make key passes and push forward everytime he got the ball.He may not be as flashy as R10 or Robinho but he's definitely more effective and I love him for that.

Parecía que con esas piernas tan arqueadas que tenía podía hacer cualquier cosa. As it is those are the best players I've seen post Diego Nd pre Messi I guess. But I don't think Baggio quite fulfilled his potential due to injury and managerial problems. Ronaldo was never the same after 98 Nd those 2 injuries. Best striker I've seen but not best player. Figo at times was better than Rivaldo but not as deadly. Zidane is a good shout but I prefer Rivaldo

For example, short of holding the ball, I cant think of a single thing that he didnt do better or much better than Zidane, but I wouldnt pick him over the latter if I had to pick someone to lead the team.

A hat - trick like no other. Been 2 up Valencia got it back to 2-2. Remember Barca needed to win to qualify, Frank De Boer (who came to Rangers after Barca met up with his brother Ronald) fires up a sublime pass and what a goal to win a game not to mention the CL qualification.

Too many comments saying he was underrated but I have to disagree imo. How was Rivaldo underrated? He was one of the biggest stars in the game from around 1997 to about 2004. Won the Ballon d'Or. Regular starter for Brazil in attack during multiple World Cups, during one of the country's golden eras. A World Cup winner. During his prime Rivaldo was almost always in the discussion for best player. He fizzled out near the end after his move to AC Milan but during his time at Barcelona he was practically unplayable at times. One of the best of his generation.

One of the most underrated players of all time and the most underrated brazilian of all time. He was just world class and so complete. Left foot, dribbling, passing, shooting, elegance and skillful. Especially his left foot was out of this world and his free kick accuracy so elite

I think a good goalkeeper can't concede a goal from midfield if he stays in position. It's always a fault when a player scores in this circumstances.
Rooney also scored a variety of spetacular goals, including one of the best bycicle kicks ever. but none is on par with Zlatan Ibrahimovic when it comes to score spetacular goals.
Rivaldo was world class, but maybe he's not even in a Top 5 of brazilian players.
Pelé, Zico, Ronaldo, Romário, Ronaldinho Gaúcho, Neymar were definitely better. Maybe Rivelino, Reinaldo (Atlético-MG), Paulo Roberto Falcão, Didi, Kaká and Garrincha too.
We generally rank offensive players higher than others because you generally need more quality to play in those positions. but if you think about pure recognition for quality playing in his role\position, there are other brazilian players that were better than Rivaldo. For example: Marcelo Vieira, Roberto Carlos and Leandro. They are amongst the best full backs ever.

You're really biased here. Rivaldo definitely isn't in a Top 5 of best players worldwide. He's not even close. Maradona, Messi, Cruyff, Puskas, Eusébio, Van basten, Cristiano Ronaldo... You can't even begin to argue in a serious debate. If you were a pundit and say this, you would be ridiculed and people would say you have a poor football knowledge.
We're talking about the goals scored, not about who is the best player. Stankovic's goals are the best from midfield here.
