    10. Eat a serving of vegetables 3 times a day
    11. Add minimally processed plant-based foods to your diet

    16. Finally check in with yourself about if this new eating plan is making you happier

    @ all the people commenting on how buzzfeed’s acting the opposite of how it usually does (as in their videos with content that shows acceptance of being overweight, etc), buzzfeed isn’t saying being overweight is a bad thing; this video is literally just giving tips on how one can efficiently lose weight... and how to be emotionally well while you’re at it. this video is probably targeted towards those who want to lose weight for the new year as their goal/resolution, whether it’s related to health or body image or whatever it may be...

    Another thing that is definitely helpful is eating more slowly. Your body produces a hormone called leptin that makes you feel full. But hormones take a while to build up so by eating slower, you give your hormones a change to catch up. I used to eat 3 bowls of cereal in the morning because I was starving. Now, I can feel full after one bowl. Yes, your friends may complain that you’re the last to finish eating but you won’t be worried about gaining weight from the extra food you ate by eating too quickly.

    Recently started on my weight loss journey. I've been big my entire life. My heaviest was 432lbs and things were looking down. My biggest downfall was and still is soda. Just going to the gym and doing a mix up of a couple miles on the bike and walking on the treadmill on a high incline and weights is all the difference. I'm currently sitting at just above 340lbs and i'm seeing slight transformations in my body. You don't have to give it up all at once. Substitute a couple meals instead of pizza and burgers all the time incorporate poultry and a couple salads. Explore newer foods. never thought in my life i would be fond of yogurt,granola, & berries but its one of my go-to snacks now. Dealing with morbid obesity and depression is a hell of a mix and the hardest part is getting up and going to the gym. Once i'm through those doors and I set foot in there there's no stopping me.

      That's so awesome, keep it up! What I used to replace soda is flavored carbonated water. I buy it at Wal-Mart in the soda isle & it's the brand Clear American. There are tons of flavors, and they're super flavorful and bubbly (and only 68 cents for a liter bottle) with 0 sugar, calories, caffeine, sodium, etc. Highly recommend!

    I kinda started an imitation Keto diet where I just cut out a lot of carb-filled foods, try to stay gluten free, eat more straight up protein, and stay away from sugary stuff and so far its working for me. I have a lot more energy than before and I've already lost a little weight since the beginning of the month. I'm not trying to hit that "ketosis" mode that's supposed to help you burn fat, I'm just cutting back on nasty things that don't fuel me and trying to eat less in general. Halo ice cream and beef sticks are my friends right now.

    As an instructor my two biggest tips are set up your macro nutrients on an app such as my fitness pal and start more resistance training (lifting weights} by building muscle your metabolism will increase and use any excess fat as fuel for muscle giving a leaner aesthetic, cardio should in my opinion be like a supplement, if your sticking to your macronutrients and doing resistance training then you don't need cardio, cardio is only really necessary if your consuming more calories then what your body requires to reach your goal

    • @Fangarai
      @Fangarai Před 6 lety

      how do you set that up in the app? I have the app and I know what macros im supposed to eat, but i just dont really know how to go about measuring that stuff in the food im making

    • @GLUA14
      @GLUA14 Před 6 lety +1

      basically it works in weight of food for example if for breakfast like me you were to have some fruit, i normally have around 50 grams of coconut flesh and other foods so you go into the section that says breakfast, type in what you have had and the amount, when you add it to what you have had for the day it will tell you how many calories you have consumed and other macros, if you are cooking food it works in the exact same way, you basically put in the amount of each of the ingredients, if it is for multiple meals you just have to divide the ingredients for how many days, an example of this would be if you used 100 grams of rice for 5 days, you would put in 20 grams of rice for one meal, I hope this helps you out

    • @Fangarai
      @Fangarai Před 6 lety +1

      that makes sense! I just got to weigh the food item, input it in the app and it will tell me the rest of the macros. Here I am thinking I got to sit down and calculate everything one afternoon. Thanks for the tip

    • @GLUA14
      @GLUA14 Před 6 lety +1

Most of the stuff here can be applied to those in school, but other things are simply not doable.

      edit: By the way, if you're going to use Myfitnesspal, I recommend updating your current weight every week or two because it affects the amount of calories you need to eat at a calorie deficit.

    All these diets; low fat/low carb, all "homemade"...they all usually incorporate a calorie deficit.
    The problem with current foods American eat is they are calorie dense and they are either taken as a "snack", dessert, or just don't keep one full which can lead to overeating calories.

      Ednanz Wallenberg so with a serving size let’s say their is 20 peanuts so when you go to the calories it is matched up to the serving size, for example: there are 100 calories in a serving size (which would be 20 peanuts)

      Ednanz Wallenberg take an example of a Snickers bar, on the back it says 250 something calories per serving, here the serving referred to is One full bar.
      Similarly, anything you buy has the serving size mentioned. For example, if it says 200 calories per serving of 100g (of a certain product you're buying) but the net weight of the whole thing is 500g, it means it has a total of 5 servings in one full packing, so if you consume the whole thing it'll be 200x5= 1000 calories.
      Also, while you buy a food product, do concentrate on sodium content and other things that may exceed the daily intake. Plus, calories don't always mean healthy one's.

    Lot of people in the US are insulin resistance due the sugar being in everything, so a lot of stuff doesn't work for them no matter how hard they work. Long as insulin is being triggered by sugar you cant lose weight. I cut out sugar and carbs that turn into sugar, went Keto, just fats and protein, vegetables, real food, no processed packaged food. It takes work but you can find and make alternatives for dessert and high carb things for breads, pastas ect. feel a lot better overall and weight started dropping. It's a lifestyle now. it always has to be a lifestyle not a "diet"

    • @azidoe
      @azidoe Před 6 lety +12

      darkfeather111 The other changes helped you lose weight, not the green tea. Green tea only increases your calories burn for a very short time by less than 1/2 a calories per minute. Even if you drank it constantly (which is unhealthy and unlikely) it would not be any major or minor help. Any qualified doctor (not a TV doctor) will tell you this. I️ mean, of you like green tea, drink it. But don’t give false advice to others. Tell the person about the other changes you made instead of the green tea.

    • @lucywallis400
      @lucywallis400 Před 6 lety

      Saenai kun If you eat less than you burn, you will lose weight. It's physics. There may be things that affect how many calories you should eat and how easily you burn them off, but you can't defy the laws of physics. It may not be good for someone to focus on restricting calories, but if they are losing weight, then they are eating less than they burn, even if they don't realise it.

    • @lucywallis400
      @lucywallis400 Před 6 lety

      Saenai kun I literally said that there will be variances for people that change how many calories they need to eat/burn, but at the end of the day calories in < calories out is how weight is loss. It is literally how your body works. Focusing on calorie restriction/counting may be bad for some people, thus they eat intuitively and don’t track, but they will only lose weight if they eat less than they burn, even if they don’t realise it. It’s not a hard concept. Sure, eating too little calories may slow down or plateau weight loss, but you would have to be eating an extremely small amount and be very skinny to begin with (though obviously eating too little is bad no matter what). Upping your calorie intake in that instance may help with weight loss but it would still need to be less than what you burn anyway.
