I don't care that SU lost but I'll repeat that you will be eternally disappointed in SU for not calling the type of song that you want them to. They have an agenda and pre-decided set list. Unless the other band pisses them off, SU doesn't seem to ever divert from their plan. I hope JSU relaxes b/c they feel that you can't be impartial..

At this time the ONLY BAND worth battling in the MEAC is Norfolk State! With A&T, FAMU, and BCU in different conferences no one else is worth mentioning in a battle of this magnitude. Now that Iâm thinking about it, did BCU battle ONCE this past year in the SWAC other than FAMU?

I remember this boombox. Boom tore that corner up all night. I love what SU does with symphonic songs, but many don't even know every concert band plays songs like Batman in the spring, just with less instruments. I'm glad JSU keeps it funky for marching season. There's a time and place for everything. Concert season does not belong in the fall.

I agree with the Band placement issues, SU does that all the time. In most cases it's plenty of seats to have a heads up. I understand it's also done at other schools, but not as bad.
Every band puts the other band in the corner. AAUM & JSU have huge fields so they can put a band across from them. I think SU's stadium can seat like 13,000 whereas JSU can seat 50,000 (?) I think. Let's keep this whole issue real and honest. SU has sat in 100's of corners over the years.
Southern's stadium seats 29K and it's the second largest stadium in the SWAC ... Third largest HBCU stadium.

Southern's Batman the Animate Series đ„, and I liked their "Been Around the World" by Lisa Stansfield, but their arrangement of We Can't Friends was a little over complicated and wasn't executed that well. J-State's church songđ...I guess you can't boo that, but overall I agree, J-State was more entertaining. It seems like Southern was trying to prove a point technique wise. I had it 3-2 J-State.

SU played yosemite against Talladega at the start of their parade battle in 2019, and you seemed to like it quite a lot there. In my honest opinion it was a pretty damn good response to Killshot, but hey, to each their own.

Yosemite is a great song, just not the response to killshot. 2 totally different songs vibe. D'Angelo wasn't all that in fact jsu should have responded with its vs of brown sugar. Been around the world was nice but the trumpets were the only thing that gave the song life evreything else blended well but was just fluff and background noise. Jsu music soul child was fire.
