    Netanyahu government:
    - Has long corruption charges running against its figurehead.
    - Proposes new laws that undermine the rule of law, which leads to destabilization of the country and mass protests.
    - "Not only tolerates, but encourages" Qatari cash payments to Hamas in a ill-advised divided and conquer strategy and because the Hamas threat helps the Israeli right wing win elections.
    - While posing as the defenders of Israel's security, actually underestimates security risks and neglects intelligence that a massive terrorist attack is about to take place.
    - Responds to this attack with disproportional brutal violence that brings the local economy to a stillstand and damages the international reputation of the country.
    - Has cabinet members who constantly say extremely racist stuff, the finance minister being one of, if not the, worst
    - Only complains, complains, complains and complains about being treated unfairly and never admits any wrongdoing, not even when quite logically the country's credit rating is downgraded a tiny bit.

      As an Israeli, I absolutely agree - except for the violence one. This is a consensus here in Israel and something that is harder to understand for people who do not live here and did not experience October 7 themselves. Netaniau needs to find a replacement for Hamas, a thing which will help end the war and avoid more casualties in the long term, but the IDF's response is absolutely proportional. It keeps a 1:3 terrorist to civilian casualties ratio, which is 3 times better than the UN's recommended ratio in urban areas which is 1:9.

    • @kaan4040
      @kaan4040 Před 3 měsíci +280

      @@IlaiShoshanithere is no UN recommended Ratio on Carpet Bombing, wtf are you talking about. A 1 to three Ratio has not been seen since the Vietnam War, even in the Iraq War and the War against Isis the Ratio was more like 2:1 or 1:1. The Violence has been disproportional, as Deaths in the West Bank due to settler Violence combined with Civilian Deaths in Lebanon in Syria are already as high as Isreali civilian Casualties on 7 October. Calling 20000 to 1000 Civilians a Proportional Response is utter delusion

      Notice that almost all "modern" British institutions that the Tories claim to hold dear, the BBC, the NHS and such, are all fundamentally "socialistic" concepts. A news broadcast everyone pays into and everyone gets. A health system the government funds and everyone gets to enjoy. The reason for this is of course that these are generally "British" institutions and or beloved by the British people. When was the last time the conservatives managed to make something like that?

      Wars are political decisions. Politicans takes desicions that ensure their survival. Admitting defeat especially in far-right means complete failure to get re-elected. This means left groups fail to hold onto political influence by avoiding confrontation and conforming to other groups. Much like politicans ignore and downplay all wrong doings in the hopes of not taking the brunt of the damage.

    A prolonged economic crisis is a danger to the existence of Israel than any other threat it has ever faced ,and given the current situation and the carnage in Gaza ,Israel is headed for exactly that ,a prolonged economic crisis.
    Barring any significant concessions from the Israelis this war in Gaza will not and can not be just swept under the rug like the previous wars, it is so glaringly publicised and so atrocious and has had the effect of focusing much of the world's attention on the Palestinian issue (think the effect the Soweto uprising had on Apartheid South Africa) ,now this may not be apparent in the immediate as changes in international geopolitics take time to reflect ie Israel's main allies may not immediately sanction it but there's a general consensus that Israel is becoming a liability among it's allies i.e they are starting to lose more than they gain and this will trigger a gradual divestment from Israel over the coming years as these allies seek to form new partnerships to circumvent Israel's use. Apartheid South Africa faced a similar problem towards the end ,previously the US and it's allies in Western Europe supported the Apartheid regime in it's military adventures in Angola, Namibia and Mozambique but as the international outcry against Apartheid grew ,South Africa became a net liability to the West and from the mid 70s onwards they started divesting culminating in 1985 when they placed sanctions on the Apartheid regime. South Vietnam suffered a similar fate, when after tet ,Vietnam become a political liability to the US and this forced the US to divest and start reconsidering it's China policy.
    Israel is in a very similar position today but it faces an existential threat if this were to happen, the first casualty of this war economically is the tourism industry which has all but collapsed in the wake of this war, and will stay so for quite a while as it doesn't make alot of business sense for tour companies (with the BDS movement in full swing ) to offer packages to visit a country accused of (that g word) ,they may gain a handful of religious tourists but will lose alot of customers who will not consider them for other destinations. That's the tourism industry gone. Also don't expect any state visits from leaders from the Global South, Israel is effectively in isolation from here on out. Now tourism contributes to a good portion of the economy but it's what comes next that may prove the biggest threat. Being in Isolation means the country won't attract as many investors and slowly over the next 5 or so years the economy will start shrinking, now this is an economy heavily reliant on it's tech industries and technology as an industry is very human resource reliant, now as the economy shrinks these tech companies may find themselves in a position whereby they cannot compete with global tech companies and this may trigger an outflow of human capital as these techies go to better paying ,less isolated countries (read about capital flight in the latter stages of Apartheid and early post Apartheid era in South Africa) , this has the overall effect of making Israel less competitive in the tech sphere in the world and crucially one of it's biggest exports ,which means a tanking economy and loss of significant diplomatic leverage .
    Now with a tanking/stagnating economy and Isolated that's when the demographics kick in, in a country with so many dual nationals (with citizenship from developed countries) as soon as economic woes begin they will start fleeing to these countries, which means the economy tanks even more ,which results in more people leaving ,by the time we are getting to this stage (in about a decade or so) Israel will have lost so much diplomatic leverage due to the factors listed above that it will probably now be sanctioned and this will further exacerbate the crisis..and it is in this stage that Israel will most probably agree to serious negotiations ,but what happens to the probably 1mn settlers in the west Bank ? Are they to be expelled? Realistically this would be a disaster so we may have a situation where one state, with two autonomous regions (See Bosnia & Herzegovina) is declared ,problem is equal rights also means equal rights for Palestinians which means right of return and trust me they will flood back ,flood back to a state which has already lost significant amounts of its Jewish population and Palestinians may edge out the Jews in Israel in terms of population resulting in a state with 60% Arab 40% Jewish population and in that situation can it really describe itself as a Jewish state . Btw the name of this state will most probably be Republic of Israel and Palestine.
    My suggestion to the Israelis, get rid of Netanyahu and get someone who is willing and serious about a political settlement with the Palestinians while you are still on top ,because it will only get harder from here.

      now fast forward from 1914 to 1948 suddenly there are more than 800k "native" Palestinians that don't even view themselves as Palestinians. [Palestinian leader even said they will use the term Palestine (late 60s) to counter the Israeli identity]
      As for the "nakba" you can learn that it was their leaders that told them to leave before the WAR THEY STARTED and lost. and they also spread lies like Jews raping and killing every Arab they saw which increased the panic among the Arabs to flee Israel.
      You can find interview of Arab leader admitting they lied about rape and it resulted in opposite reaction they wanted.
      And what apartheid? do you even know what apartheid means, we gave them Gaza they elected their leaders guess what they voted for Hamas, guess what hamas did killed all their competition and said they would destroy Israel and kill every Jew on the planet.
      you may say thats Gaza and not "West Bank" but if you pay attention to West Bank you will know that there almost terror attack every day coming from there, just yesterday in the morning 3 terrorist started shooting at Jews that were at traffic going to school or work.
      You can watch videos of corey asking Palestinians how to solve the conflict guess their answers, all of them said to open the border and for every Palestinian to live in peace but the Jews to either kill or kick them from the country.

    Let me dispute your analysis by stating that you completely missed the macros, which are:
    1. 1nis was worth 4.08$ a week into the war, now 1nis equal 3.6$. Israel's currency strengthened. Which both shown the economy strength but also affected its exports ("it costs more to buy israeli merchandise in dollars")
    2. Israel foreign reserves got up from 190$ billion to 204$ billion. In fact, thanks to Houthis red sea crisis, which doesn't affect Israel but wracks Egypt/Jordan economies - Israel exports more gas to Egypt and Jordan ships more goods through Haifa port. More foreign money coming into Israel.
    3. Inflation went down to 2.5% (less private consumption) and interest rate is 4.5%. Positive.
    4. Services (software, hardware, medical) exports are actually up 23% last quarter, but they are negated by losses in construction and tourism. Both loses are due to reserve forces enlisted. So, actually - the only slumping part of the economy is the one related to internal consumption (as seen by lower inflation). When reservists will return, these part will prosper.

And that even if Israel government agree to the international proposed medium/long term solution, there is no garantee it will work or improve the situation. Interestingly the government responses I saw didn't adress the second part, only the not agreeing with international solution (because that kind of retoric is well accepted locally)

That party is now getting around 40 seats (a third of all parliament) in anyone of the election surveys and Gantz is surely on his way to become the next prime minister, a reassuring fact as Israelis are looking for safety, stability and unity, all of which are things Bibi is unable (some would say unwilling) to provide.
    It also shines a light about the complexity of Israeli politics, as the war against Hamas is by far a consensus opinion, but that doesn't mean supporting a Bibi-Smotritch-BenGvir coalition.

      Not really
      Just do the math
      America gives 3 billion dollars per year
      That's something like 300 dollars per person ( almost 10 million inhabitants)
      And the GDP of Israel is 50.000 per person
      So believe they will be fine

      like they send 60 billion dollars a year abroad on a regular basis, on 4 of it go to israel on regualr basis(aside from us military presence in europe,korea and the pacific). maybe the us govs think maintaining the petro dollar system,the sway over the suetz canal,the sway over most of the gulf countries economy and defense sectors and the sway over south east asia's energy supply(from the middle east) + controlling the gas and oil prices around the world is worth something

      Diverse states are even more expensive, so this part does not seem like an issue. It's rather war without even clear war aims that may make investors a bit nervous.

    • @tomlxyz
      @tomlxyz Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@useodyseeorbitchute9450 Israel IS a diverse state but they segregate certain groups. That type of oppression always comes with a cost. It also locks out a big potential workforce from many jobs that investors like to get filled

    • @useodyseeorbitchute9450
      @useodyseeorbitchute9450 Před 3 měsíci

      @@tomlxyz What would be the alternative cost? In the US desegregation lead to White flight due to crime spike hitting the more productive population. If the main problem had been oppression, then the oppressed populations would be doing fine elsewhere or would be doing fine after even mild tuning down oppression. The only case where such process was actually observed was collapse of communism.
