Easiest way to get cute short and sweet gel nails. Every time I need to do some short nails this is my go-to method. Acrylic tends to make nails of this size bulky and require a lot of filing time. Hope this helps.

This method is everything. I've done it many times now, and they last forever. Let me say two words: Flashlight LED. It will make your life so much easier if you're doing this on yourself. Hold the flashlight (purple led light for curing) in YOUR MOUTH. Press the nail until air bubbles are gone and then use the flashlight in your mouth to do a quick sealing cure. Do your whole hand like this, and then do a final 60 second cure in your minimum 36 watt LED or UV lamp. Nails should feel tight and secure, and then design to your heart's content. Buy clear nails from Amazon. They are cheap and come in many shapes. Azure base gel is the bomb. Apply Azure top coat or polygel to underside of nails for strength.
Great to hear that these last! Do you not need to rough up the inside of the tips (like Apres)?

@@danielle_2 Currently, I use an e-file with a sanding band to rough up the inside of the well of the nail. However, I think it's not needed. Just removing the shine from your natural nail should be enough. I think I will test the non-roughing method tonight when I do a new set. I'll report back.
The major key here is figuring out how much base gel to apply. Too much and it will leak out, and you don't want to cure that to the skin; too little gel, and you get major air bubbles. So finding that balance is key.
You can purchase the LED flashlight from Amazon--make sure it's a curing one with a purple light. I believe you can buy three in a pack for under $10. They take triple A batteries. It is truly a lifesaver for this method. I do a quick 15-20 second cure with the flashlight just to seal. Make sure you do a final 60 second cure in your main LED/UV lamp.

@@m.flowers6920 Easily. Maybe even a month.They adhere tightly using this method -- provided you do good prep work and use a primer. This is not like glue-on nails, where nails pop off randomly.
Guys this works!!! I was skeptical about using base coat to glue my apres tips!! I tried it and I’ve had them on for 3 weeks! There’s absolutely no lifting :) Amazing dupe

Tried this method with a base coat I ordered off of wish and let me tell you.. they held for more than 3 weeks and was still going strong even before I soaked them off I work a lot with my hands .. and not once lifted or popped off .. I’m sold with this method ❤️💪🏾😍

femi i followed your steps from your last apres set and so far they’ve been on for two weeks with no lifting! i know that’s nothing compared to how long your clients nails last but i just got into nails so this is really good for me since before i tried it i kept getting lifting.
You are the one who taught me to do nails correctly because before I watched your videos , my tips wouldnt stay on my finger for a day they would always break off because i used glue instead of gel. 3 months ago i used your technique and they stayed on for almost a month

Omg saw this last night and tried it today on my daughter. It worked beautifully! Now I’m just waiting for the tried and true test of her wearing them during her face painting gigs. She loves how they look but but we need to so how long they last. I’ll update you later. TFS you’re truly amazing. 💕

@@1wog4ever you have to rough up the inside of the nail with a file, and also rough up the nail with a 150 or 180 grit file before putting on the base coat. Also use a dehydrator and a non-acid primer when prepping. Acid primers are for acrylic, non-acid for gel. But the biggest cause of lifting is getting product on the cuticle.

I do this in myself now all the time!! I’m so glad I found your channel! This is so much quicker than acrylic and I have two boys so I sadly don’t really have as much time to do my nails as I used too! But this way I can still have them done!

Gilselis Perez I use gelish base coat cause it’s thicker but I’ve also done it with makartts and they stayed on for a week. With gelish I can usually make it 4 weeks

I’m so glad you did a dupe! I cannot afford Aprés right now, and I got the wrong tips for doing a gel overlay (they sold out, I grabbed the full nails like these, by mistake🤦🏻♀️) but I am so glad that there is a way without spending almost $200 on a kit🥰

Enjoyed the video, however what about the products not touching skin?? The base coat you used to attach the nails seeps out and touches her cuticles, also the bottom of the nail. I've heard and read numerous times the higher chances of allergic reactions is when products touch the skin.🤷 Just a question.

I use that cheap soak off gem gel from Ali express.its thicker and doesnt get all over the place like the regular base gel. You should give it a try and see what you think is bettwr?

So I tried this method and I love it!!! I am not a professional by any means, I’m just a girl trying to save a couple bucks here and there. I was so skeptical about this method because I have tried press-on nails in the past before and they fall right off by day 2. After watching this video I decided to give it a try, after all, I had a bunch of press-on nails I had ordered from Amazon laying around. Well, not only is this method super easy for someone who isn’t a professional, but they last!!!
However, how do I take them off? Lmao! I’ve had them on for 3 weeks now. Do I dip them in acetone? I want to try a different design but these nails ain’t going anywhere by the looks of it haha lol
Cotton balls dipped in acetone and foiled onto nails for 10 to 15 minutes. Could even be less.

Is there a specific reason you didn't etch the inside of the press on nail? I've seen everywhere to do that but noticed that you didn't! How does that change the lasting time of the nail that's on?

You can also use regular nail glue it last for three weeks or more. I do very heavy manual labor and the go nowhere. I have to get them off with acetone.
Really? Wow! Which nail glue do you use? Do you cure them as well or just use the glue?
@@bshatajshina any old nail glue will do. Just gently file your natural nail to make it a little ruff and fill the inside of each nail tip. Put a little glue on your nail and a little in the nail tip and press on. Make sure not to use too much glue or too little so it doesnt squish out of the sides.
