I think the reason deer have so much trouble on the roads and highways is because there's so much going on at the same time. It's mostly quiet out in the wild so deer senses are heightened. I'd assume by a road or highway like this where it's so loud and things are going by so fast, the deer's senses are heavily dampened due to it taking in everything going on around it.
That doesn't explain why most deer hits I've heard about were at the dead of night in the middle of nowhere with no other cars anywhere. They litterally had ONE car to keep track of and avoid.
I was driving a f550 rollback running about 65 to 70 mph to an early morning disabled vehicle. A doe ran right out infront of me and I hit it so hard I split it in two. Probably about 100 yards of bloodspatter on the roadway and almost certain at least a third of that doe was drug under the truck for a second. Gutpile was strangely neatly arranged in an almost unnaturally perfect pile on the side of the road, completely disconnected from the rest of the deer. TL;DR, I turned a deer's insides into outsides in a fraction of a second
I’ve hit a deer in an SUV. It was EXACTLY like that. I saw the deer before it was in the road and immediately hit the brakes. I still hit the deer fast enough to send it flying. I assume the deer lived because we never found it, but my car was absolutely destroyed. I can’t believe how much damage a deer can cause. It happened just as fast as in this video. I’m having flashbacks here!

It’s kinda weird. Recently in the woods near my house I’ll be walking on a trail that is always busy on a nice day. Whenever I see a deer that is like within 20 feet of me, it’ll just stay there. Like it sees me but isn’t scared. I’ll even make a sudden move or make a loud noise and still nothing. I’m starting to wonder if those are real deer in the woods 😂

They don't die instantly. Its knocked out and died shortly after. If it was INSTANTLY killed its legs would be flapping around and he would not look stiff as a board anyways. tf is wrong with u lol
Im attending driving school recently and its still ongoing and he told me never ever avoid an obstacle "by swaying the wheel to the left or right" cause it will create greater damage instead go on half break or break. But I think its impossible for the guy in the video to do full break or half cause the deer just appeared out of no where in full speed run. So I think its really hard to avoid it. I say the deer was stupid, but he's just animal so..
Back in 1995 This happened to me too during late at night on I-94 highway at 120mph with Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4. I collected the remaining parts off the highway, and reported the incident to authorities.
My crew was hauling gravel to a location a few years ago. We were all back and forth on a 4 lane highway (two lanes in each direction with a pretty large grass median between the north and south bound lanes. I was heading empty, back to the yard. Coming the other way I saw one of our loaded dump trucks headed to the project site. I could see a deer running across the median, headed towards the loaded truck, and knew it was gonna' be close. The deer jumped and hit the truck high up in front of the rear fender. I'm not exaggerating when I say it had to have thrown the thing 60 feet in the air. Minor damage to the fender, but the venison was definitely tenderized.
Ohh I believe you, I hit a deer decades ago with my S10 at 50 mph broadside just like this video, hit on the right side of my bumper across the back half of it's torso and ass, it's head didn't hit and it hucked that poor doe 50 feet away and 30 feet up the hill on the side of the road. I was about 30 seconds from my house so I limped my truck home quickly, grabbed a rifle and drove back up in a different rig to where I hit it and walked up to see if it was dead, which it unfortunately was not, it was mewling in pain with blood foaming out of it's mouth and it had about eight broken ribs poking out of it's shattered chest, and all four of it's legs were shattered and bent all over the place, it was kind of traumatizing to me at the time since I was only 16 years old lol. I put it out of it's misery as quickly as I could with a round through it's brain. My truck was totaled too, bent the frame all to shit, it really sucked since the truck was cherry, had the 4.8 vortec V6 with a 5 speed, I loved that truck. But yeah, I believe you when you say it went flying 60 feet lol.

Very odd for a deer to be running across a road during the day. That is almost exclusively a dusk or night time activity. Just drove from OK to PA and back and the number of dead deer on the road was incredible. BTW Covid rules restricted hunting activities in many states over the last couple of years and the deer population has exploded.
@@Cruzer871 ok what dosage should we use .308, 12 gauge, 20 gauge, or .50 Cal and before you ask me if destroying a deer with a .50 Cal would destroy the meat my answer is yes, but we need to keep the population down to lower insurance costs. (my parents couldn’t get their deposit back on a rental car during a trip because a suicidal deer ran in front of us) So ya with the population as it is this will be more about population control then hunting for meat.
I love the fact that you drive in the right lane and pass in the left lane. Please come teach these Florida drivers to stop clogging the left lane by driving the same speed as the person in the right lane.
then teach the non Floridians to do the same and to use their GPS if they don't know where they're going. BTW, no jug handles in Florida like they have in N.J. and you're allowed to pump your own gas. Most places you have too.
I always called the left lane…the “passing lane”. And the right lane the “cruising lane”. I always stay in the right lane unless I’m passing someone….and then I move right back into the right lane”cruising” lane.
I have to say I am impressed with your driving. You use the left lane to pass you didn't take your time hanging out by the truck, and you got in the right lane once you passed the truck. If everybody were like you this one would be a better place.
@@anthonyj9787 The left lane is for surpassing only, once you're done with your overtake, you get to the right, so that people faster than you can overtake you. Basically you stay on the right side to keep your own pace, it could be 70/90/110 or whatever km/h or mph or whatever, if someone is slower than you, you get to the left and overtake him, to then go back to the right lane and hold your pace. Maybe someone is doing 70 as his average(basically trucks), you dk 90 in average, so you overtake the truck and get ahead of him. But what if skmeone has an average of 110? Passing on the right not knly is illegal, but ita dangerous because you would not expect anyone to come from your right side, therefore doing an accident. Once i was in the highway, passed a truck and i was going fairy fast at 140kph, a Lambo behind me was way too lazy to wait for me to go to the right lane, so he tried to pass me, going over 180. I didnt expect to see it, and when i saw it(first i heard it coming) it was too late. We touched, we both lost control, i came out of it unscratched, as my car just spinned before eventually stopping and with minor damages. The lambo was completely destroyed and most importantly the guy got paralyzed, miracoulously surviving, they had to cut through the car to get him out and were surprised to find him alive. I had a dashcam, he had too, i didnt sue him, my insurance company did, got 400 thousand dollars from that guy's company because of thr trauma i got and because my 90k euros mercedes was scratched. Now, the guy is paralyzed and will never walk again, if only he followed the rules everything would be fine. I rather get home 10 minutes later than remain paralyzed for the rest of my life, and i rather honk the shit out of someone who's not moving in the right lane amd going slowly and is not overtaking anyone.

Also their eyes are made to notice movement, it points in two direction so they can’t gauge depth / distance.
Sounds about right
They are just stupid .
That doesn't explain why most deer hits I've heard about were at the dead of night in the middle of nowhere with no other cars anywhere. They litterally had ONE car to keep track of and avoid.

As someone who has hit deer, nothing graphic about that. It gets way worse.
As someone who has witnessed a deer getting hit you're 100 percent correct this was tame compared to what I saw
I've seen worse than this video.
Yeah.
I hit one in a Dodge Charger at around 30MPH. It fly over 20 feet away

Back in 1995 This happened to me too during late at night on I-94 highway at 120mph with Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4. I collected the remaining parts off the highway, and reported the incident to authorities.
"Hey, Honey?"
From the back: "Yes, dear?"
"We're havin' deer steak tonigh!"

That’s everywhere nowadays. Most people don’t even know it’s against the law.
Yeah but if he was in the left lane he wouldn't have hit the deer
@@kingti85 Maybe. Maybe not. Still good that he follows the rule of "Slower traffic keep right".
I have to say I am impressed with your driving. You use the left lane to pass you didn't take your time hanging out by the truck, and you got in the right lane once you passed the truck. If everybody were like you this one would be a better place.
What’s wrong with driving in the left lane 🧐
@@anthonyj9787 lmfao do you drive?
@@willa.568 do you?
