    Great video mate.. would just mention also minimum buys on trading platform eg.. cmc markets minimum buy of US stocks is $1,000aud and also conversion to aud..
    But great video for basic foundations in selecting trading platform.
    Learning about the Vanguard trading platform was new to me.
    Can you do videos about diversification is it best way built wealth or have high conviction stocks built wealth than put it into diversified portfolio..

    • @dansplained42
      @dansplained42  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks for the comment Jay. Diversification is an interesting topic and it depends on your level of expertise and time you have to dedicate to investing. For the average person, broad index funds that track the market are very diversified and low risk and has proven to be one of the best strategies. However, when it comes to individual stocks, diversifying is like diluting/watering down your potential gains. Better to go higher conviction on a few companies that you strongly believe in. Diversifying is all about covering losses when 1-2 aren’t performing well and visa versa. Instead, going harder on fewer will allow you to build kore wealth. But only if you get those picks right!
      For most people, broad index funds are ideal

      In order to make profits from trading you need loads of experience and a well defined strategy, which most traders don't have. If you trade without the proper preparation, you're most likely to lose your money. Identify the buy/sell ratios and identify the market leaders and most importantly. Diversify! this will help you spread risk

      @@dansplained42 Im looking at Pearler and they look like a winner for long term ETF investing.
      $9.5 / trade which at a monthly investment rate would be $114/year. Auto investing function. CHESS sponsored.
      Seems more cost effective than vanguards platform with the .2% pa and management fee example. .27% on VDHG ETF. On a $100k portfolio your looking at more in fees than just paying the $9.5 a month. (assuming your only investing in one ETF)

    Vanguard personal investor only offer Australian funds. No vts or veu for instance. And self wealth only offer Australian and US shares, not global. So if you want international trades both of those are useless and no data sheets the banks offer is worth the cost you pay for their platforms, unless you were a day trader and even then there are better options for market research. As for IG. Its not CHESS. Which leaves CMC markets.
