Honestly, this is one of the best how to videos I have seen. I always watch some CZcams video’s before I do it on my own, you never know how others run things. Great video bud!!!
Thank you Adam! Im glad the video helped! Im the same way man...if im not quite sure on how to do something..CZcams IT! LOL
Thanks Steve, great video.
I watched your video 3 months ago and installed this same set of lights on my 2020 Road Glide Limited and they look great, took me 2 days working off & on to get everything cleaned up good and wires routed correctly to get the job done right however now I have found that the lights just Magically come on all by them self at night while the bike is just sitting in the garage, it has done this 4 times now.
I have a message into the seller about this problem will see where that goes.
I love the lights they look great on the bike going down the road at night and I get a lot of people that come over to see the bike when I park it in town at night with the lights on.
Your video was a big help to me getting the lights installed correctly. Thanks again for a well done video.
Could be a bad module...however i had that happen one time and it was because over night the wire had fell on to my exhaust under the saddlebag and just siting there after a ride it melted through the wire cover and grounded the lights. If yours is only doing it at night and just randomly I would say the module is bad. Also try taking the remotes inside with you one night where they cannot connect tot he bike and see if it does then. The remote could be sending wanky signals to the bike? Just some thoughts. I hope you get it lined out man.
@@sikbaggers Thanks Steve I appreciate your input. I have taken the remote inside but only did that one night and it was ok the next morning, but then it only does it once in a while. I have the bike loaded up right now in our 5th wheel toy hauler for our trip to AZ for the winter, think I will remove the remote from the bike for the trip down there and see if they ever come on over the 2000 mile trip. Thanks again.
You the freaking man bro!!!! Can't believe I just found your channel!!! Wish I had time to binge them all!! Lol
Hey thank you Rich! much appreciated.
Thanks for the video. Now I was able to find my brake wire for my LED light kit.
You’re are awesome! Thank you for the details and suggestions, those make a huge difference in your installs. Your description of details are on point.
Thank you for checking it out and im glad it helped!
OMG! I love, love love this page. I’ve been able to not only install my LED’s myself but also hook up the brake function to them.
Hey Nicole...thank you for the kind words and thank you for checking out the videos! Im glad they are helping! Happy Holidays and be safe!
I bought two kits and installed one kit on each side then hooked the brake function to the wire feeding the left and right turn/brake wires and now the left half flashes with the left signal and right stays solid red and vice versa 😝 note: as far as I know this only works with bikes that have the brake/turn signals not sure how it would work if you do it with a brake light and separate turn signals...
Love all the new videos Steve!
Great video, this is one of my winter projects. Thanks for the details!
Glad it was helpful!
Just bought a suzco 18 piece led motorcycle kit from Amazon and your video is exactly what I needed to watch.
Awesome! Yeah so many kits on amazon and all are about the same ...they look great though..glad the video helped and have a happy thanksgiving!
Thank you my man. You have taught me so much and I do appreciate your knowledge!
Ive got 2 kits of the RGB s on my bike with the RGB headlight still working great on my Streetglide
Excellent*Excellent*Excellent!! I followed the steps 100% from start to finish stripping her down was a bit easier than I had anticipated. I only wish I had moved right side under tank led strip a bit further toward the outside. I ordered a different brand with the exact same features as yours and have the exact same results $60 is what it cost. Took me about 2 and 1/2 hours start to finish, all in all I'm overly satisfied with the results thanks so much for the video it helped a lot, it provided the confidence to go thru, keep them coming. Thanks again. Take Care
Hey thats great! Yeah pretty easy to do and really the kit doesnt matter too much,...they are all about the same..Im glad you got them installed!
Thanks Steve. Nice job and the lights look great.
This is your first vlog I have seen so far. Now I your newest subscriber. Can't wait to watch all your stuff.
Thank you Ed! man..your name brought back some old memories for me...When I was about 12 years there was a dude in town that ran an antique shop that shared your name..were talking a town of about 700 people...a village if you will, but this guy was super cool and always invited the town kids in and gave us some sort of trinket or little toy...what a cool dude. Anyway...probably overshare there just hadnt heard that name in years!
@@sikbaggers cool to hear good things about someone who shares my name.
Thx buddy!! This video is DEFINITELY gonna save me some unforeseen trouble on my '22 Street Glide. (my first time doing this) Definitely subscribed!
Thank you JD...im glad the video helped sir....have any questions just let me know.
This is a great video Steve. Applicable to so many other jobs
yes sir..thank you fred!
This is the only video I could find that made sense, thank youuuuu!!
Youre very welcome!
This video helped me figure out how to reconnect the LEDs that were on the bike that I purchased from a Harley dealership. Because they had disconnected them. And I'm very new to motorcycles anyway. Thanks for the great video. It also help me put LEDs on my wife's bike better than the previous owners put them on mine.
Glad the video helped Kevin! Yeah if you run thew wires correctly and place them in the right locations..they can be a really nice kit for the price.
great vid... did a 12pcs light kit this weekend after watching took about 4 hrs to make all look good thanks for vid
glad it helped you Nick thats awesome!
Wish it was that easy to get to the battery on my bike. I have a 2019 Street Bob and whoever thought that it was a good idea to make it so hard to get to the battery was an idiot.
Thanks for your videos. Just found them and I've already watched like 10 of them 😅 You've inspired me to do some of my own work on my bike. Just bought it last year (first bike ever) so still a noob lol I have a lot to learn, but watching your videos is definitely helping!
Hey Cassi! that's great and yes Harley certainly never keeps the rider in mind when they build these things...I just bought the 2022 sportster S and I still haven't even located the battery!! LOL...seriously! Its buried! Im so glad the videos are helping you and if you ever have any questions just shoot! Ill try my best to help.
AWESOME!!!! Now I’m ready to install my lights
Yeah super easy Justyn...and the outcome is pretty awesome! Have a Happy New Year! Be safe!
Oh I need to get these added to my bike!
Thanks, Steve. Good to see new videos!
More to come! Thanks for checking them out!
Thanks Steve!! Your video and instructions are spot on! Honestly you made me look forward to this installation. As you explained it's going to take some time to do the job right, but It's well worth it. All wires are meticulously hidden, and your idea about placing lights slightly rotated on the inside of the bottom frame rail is spot on!! I truly appreciate you taking the time to go through this so carefully! A+++++ Work and Craftsmanship!! Thanks Again!!
"Pops"
Thank you very much for checking it out Pops! Glad I was able to help. The kits are really nice if you take the time needed to make it look right. Ive got another one to install Monday morning for a customer.
ABSOLUTELY agree 100 percent word for word now I'm looking forward to doing this install tomorrow
Another Great Video !! Thanks for the details Steve…
Stay tuned this Saturday 3/1/24 new LED accent light video..custom cut to your bike, super bright...its SIK!
Nice video man, very informative.
Thank you for checking it out Chad! Glad it helped...be safe!
One step closer to getting my RGS done lol. Great video
ooh they are never really "done" are they? lol I can always find something cool to add it seems like. Thanks for checking out the vids sir...Much appreciated.
Great video as always. Appreciate it.
thank you danny!
Thanks for sharing! Awesome Vid!👊
Thanks for watching!
Thanks you explain everything great
thank you robert!
Great video Steve! Glad to see ya back. I would like to know how you ran the wires through the front fender and up the fork legs. TIA
point the wires towards the brake caliper when installing the lights. Pull the wire out from under your fender right above the brake caliper and zip tie it to the caliper cable. run the wires up the caliper cables putting a zip tie around every 3 inches. Run that up under your fairing and over to the neck, then run those wires under the tank in the wire harness back to the module. Make sure to leave that slack under your fairing for turning your handlebars otherwise you will snap that wire when you turn.
Thank you for the video. It helped a lot.
Youre very welcome Jason! Thanks for checking it out!
Thanks for the info sir.
awesome video man. Thanks
glad to help! Happy holidays!
Thanks!
hope you make a video when you do your next sik bagger clothing order, thanks man.
Thank you for your videos
My pleasure! Im glad they are helping!
Thanx for the vid👍
Thanks for checking it out!
awesome video thank you for making content like this.
and thank you for checking it out! Glad to help!
Great video! I like how u took the tank off with the commit lmao!
man that sucker had a full tank of gas...I didn't even check so it caught me off guard....kicked my ass lol
Steve, another great and well done video for the rest of us! couple quick questions, looks like you put a set of the strips on the tank itself? is that right? Also when you pull the fuse, any chance of still getting shocked? Should I pull the battery too? Seems like a PIDA. Thanks !!
Thanks J...Yes i put a long strip down both sides of the tank...make sure that you dont sip tier those together with the others in case you have to pull the tank for anything..just makes it go faster. Also just pull the fuse..once you do that there is no way to get shocked or even blow the little fuses. The only rish you have is the battery itself ...just dont ground out the wrench when tighten the positive side...that will cause an arch...but thats about it,,its pretty straight forward.
very nice video thank you
Glad you liked it and thank you for checking it out!
thanks for this tutorial!
Do you have any advice on stands for your motorcycle to keep it up and stiff during these installations?
Nice. Thanks
Great video/demo. I have the Amazon kit, Ditrio is the company, and they are fairly decent for my Softail Springer Classic.
thank you brian...yeah it seems amazon is flooded with a ton of led lights and most are the same outside of the size of strips and amount. thanks for checking out the video!
Great video. Subscribed.
Thanks for the sub Wade!
Great video
Thank you Ramezy!
Another good job Thant you
Thank you Clifford! This guys bike turned out pretty cool at the end of the day. He was super happy with it an the install was pretty easy!
Thanks Steve for this video. If you had a trike up doing the LEDa, what would you do differently? Especially the rear fenders. Thanks for all your hard work.
you can definitely do the exact same on the front of that bike from the fender back to the engine...Ive added the long strips that I usually use under the saddlebags and add them to the inside of the fender wells. Just make sure you clean the heck out of the fender wells with soap/water and then use alcohol on a rag and wipe it down really good. I use zip tie mounts like this amzn.to/3Ewonza to make sure the wire stays up against the fender wells all the way out to the lights.
Hey you, good to see you. Good video
Well hey!! Good to see you too!
Thanks Steve!! Get ready to do this to my 2007 Ultra Classic. I have a question, when sticking to bottom of tank, do try to do roughly in center of bottom or closer towards frame as you can get ? What is best position to transfer light?
❤❤❤. Thank you.
Stripped down enough to take a pic...send it to your wife and tell her you know exactly what you're doing....lmao
lol i do it to customers LOL they drop off their bike and 20 minutes later I have to the frame with all the wires exposed.
@@sikbaggers Hahaha....nice
@@sikbaggers Hey, dig the vids...super informative and enjoy how you take your time explaining things...love the close up's of what you're doing as well... cheers
Wish I would have bought a bigger kit, I bought an 8 piece
Man I've jumped right in before now ( looked at the bike ) and thought, I hope I can put this SOAB back together again because anyone can strip a bike its putting it back together again thats the trick 🤔😉🤣😎🇺🇲
Great tutorial, my only problem is the "clam shell" connectors. They have let me down more times then I can count. There must be a better way with some heat shrink involved. Other then that, you have a new subscriber and a thumbs up on this video.
Yes, just using what was supplied in the kit but if you dont want to actually cut the ire and soldier it I use Posi taps - amzn.to/3WjyNIQ T taps - amzn.to/3XL7Kr2 if you dont care to cut the wire then I suggest solder/waterproof heat shrink and I use these. I use these on all audio connectors under the fairing amzn.to/3QRZ67E you can buy these in smaller amounts...i just get the big one because I use them a lot. Slide it on, and heat it. the solder melts and the blue edges melt and create a seal all in one step. Thank you for the sub! Much appreciated!
“I highly recommend you don’t do that”. 😂 😂. Maybe the nicest way I ever heard a hard warning.
I have to say first of all Thanks for a cool video showing how simple this is! I say that after replacing my tires on my own SG. Dang those tires are hard and stiff! LOL I have wanted the Shock and Awe since I bought my 2019 SG in Oct 18 So I pulled the trigger to try the cheap ones. I'll let you all know how it turns out! If nothing else see if I like the look before buying the really good stuff! ;o)
Good video, nice install. Curious as to which kit was purchased with Amazon and how many extensions were needed. Additionally, how do they compare with Ciro and Custom Dynamics?
The kit that was used on this bike was from ebay and I haven't got a link to them but he had to order extra extensions..this kit on amazon is the one we use..it has everything you need to do the front wheel along with everything else. smile.amazon.com/dp/B07FBQYW3N/ They are nice for the price...however Ciros are brighter and you have much more control over them, but they are pricey plus the ciro and CD's are pretty much custom cut to go to certain places on the bike so there isn't a ton of extra wire left over you have to hide behind the side cover.
hey, great video, thanks to you i feel brave enough at least right now to tackle this project... so that's a bunch. also, the main fuse you pulled to kill, the power after that do you have to take it to Harley dealer service to get the bike reset, flashed, or whatever, that affects the security system and other ECM-controlled parts because that main fuse was removed? thanks again for the videos.
No you can pull your main fude any time you need to...no worries..plug it back and done
What is the iPhone app for control called in the App Store?
Great help, just one question on running the wires. If you do the front fender where do you bring them up and hide them? Looking at my bike 2011 Road Glide Ultra, I dont see a way to cleanly, and safely bring them out and up. Any advice or pictures of this part? Again thanks for making this video and showing where and how to mount all of them.
ins tall in the front of the fender and point the wires towards the brake caliper when installing the lights.
Great Vid! Almost 2 yrs later since vid posted how are these holding up? would like to do this to my 21 Triglide
They have held up just fine.
Best Motor Cycle Mechanic in the business hands down anytime im looking to do something on my bike my first stop is your page. what state are you located in? i know you said it in one of your videos but i cant remeber.
Hey glad the videos all help, thats what its all about! Im in southern Illinois
@@sikbaggers id like to come down sometime and visit your place.
I need help with a video showing me how to change my ignition I had to buy a new one but don’t know how to take off the one that’s on my bike now
Excellent video, thanks! Can you provide a link for the wire connector you used for the brake line? Thanks in advance!
Thank you...yes these are the ones I use to make connections.. amzn.to/35WFSuG you may find a smaller kit on amazon or even your local parts store if you only need a few.
@@sikbaggers much appreciated, thanks!
@SIK Baggers Great video! I installed this kit on my '16 Breakout. I tested the brake lights and the only found 2 that worked. Problem is, they flash when I hit my left turn signal. How can I fix this?
If its flashing the you have something hooked up to that wire..it should never flash. Without looking at what you have there..ts very ahrd to say whats going on.
Love the video! One question...what path is best for the wires for the lights on the bottom of the frame?
the power box for the lights is under the side cover. run the right side wire down, under the side cover, and go straight to the frame. roll it under the frame and zip tie it off right up to the frame. The left side, I run the wire from behind the side cover , behind the battery and then down the same route as the right side. Make sure you dont cover your battery or battery tray...makes it a huge pain to remove it later when you need to swap it out.
Thank you!@@sikbaggers
One more question....would you recommend heat shrink for the squid connections?@@sikbaggers
@@user-iu7ik6cz6z ive never put heat shrink on them...they wont come un connected but if you are worried about it being water tight just add some dyelectric grease to each one before pulugging it in. I use this stuff amzn.to/3TSbEiT from amazon
I'm doing it.
Super easy install..youll love it!
Can you suggest what wire I tap into for the brake light feature I haven’t been able to locate it, 2014 sportster
Im really not sure on the one for the sportster. I would have to use a test light and find it myself. If you get your hands on a service manual it will have the wire schematics in it.
Nice video! I plan on placing lights under the front fender as well. How did you route the wiring up to I presume the triple tree?
Under the tank, across the triple tree, there are other wires there you can zip tie too...then down the legs using the existing brakes lines
Hello Steve, I was wondering the same thing. Great video. I hope to be wiring up my deluxe soon ✌🏾
hello, great video. i just got a streetglide and will be following this video. can you tell me how many led strips you are using? according to the diagram you show during the cleaning process i am counting 9 strips per side. which would be a total of 18 strips. the amazon link only has 12 strips. can we order 2 sets and have all 18 strips connected to one power module? or is there an option to buy a pack with 18 strips? thank you
a few of the places are optional...we generally install the 12 strip kits. You can buy splitters and add more strips but you have to buy the whole kit get more strips. I have had guys have me buy 2 kits and y splitters...and add more to one kit...that way they dont have two boxes and two remotes. And you always have a back up box in case something goes on the one.
Why do you recommend not doing the turn signal features? The kit I got came with that feature and don’t want to do something to jack up the system. Especially since my bike is a 2023. Thanks!
the turn signal feature is meant more for cars with a wider body...so you can distinguish left from right...the bike is thin that from a distance it appears the whole bike is flashing...thats very confusing for the people trying to see what you are going to do. The brake function is fine as it turns everything red
Installed the LED Underglow light kit on my 2015 Street Glide Special. There seems to be a constant draw on the battery from this kit. Is there a way to hook the postive wire to something on the bike so it only has juice when the bike is running versus constant power from the battery?
yes, of course...get a cheap test light and find a wire under your seat that is key on only...make sure it is not the brake or turn signal wire as those fluctuate in draw if you hit the brake or blinker...just a simple key on source is what you need. You could also put in a monetary switch somewhere.
I have this same kit and can you give me any ideas why all my ligjts change color except my very front one. It does blue or off no other cycles. Thanks
Sorry I guess I should watched the whole video first before asking my question. Ypu answered it thanks
Hello how are you,I have a 2001 klr 650 and I want to put led grow lights on it can you direct me in the right direction please
you can use the same kit however its going to be hard to find a place for the control box...maybe under your seat? Its not very big but want to keep it out of the elements for sure. There are plenty of plastics on that bike to hide the LEDs under there...just keep them away from your exhaust
Please HELP the only one Ive seen hook up the brake function. Ive had these on my 09 sporty and my 99 FLSTC for over a year and haven’t been able to find the proper wiring solution as the O/W wire from the switch has power and the R/Y brake wire doesn’t work either…. Which wire or what component do I need to wire in to make it work? Thank you.
so the pre 08 bikes are super weird when it comes to lighting..when you hit your brakes it breaks the ground so thats why your lights arent getting any power, I know it sounds weirds but thats why. My buddy did his bike and had to get the magic strobe box from custom dynamics and then draw the power from it to make them go red when braking..id give them a call and see which one you need for your specific bike,.
Can you do a video on Harley led ghost lights
Sorry I'm late responding but yes If i can get s et in here I will
I have a 2012 Honda cbr250r
Do you put the blue wire for the break on the blue wire from the break wire harness
Answer my own question thanks tho
Good day, Should I heat shrink any of the connectors. I did my install but two connectors will be exposed to the elements. any suggestions
Just use some dielectric grease...no need to hest shrink..I mean it won't hurt it just be careful heating it up.those wires are tiny
Do you run the front fender light wire on the inside of the front fork to hide the wire going back to the battery?
no...put the light where the wire comes out at the fender bolt in the rear...run that light straight to the brake line and tie it up along the brake line on both sides.
How would I go about connecting LED lights to a switch on the Fairing Button panel?
Buy any kind of on/off switch and run your power wire from the box up to your dash , under the tank, connect it to the switch on one side, come out of the other side and go back to your battery, The problem with this is all that does is cut the power to the box. Once you turn it on, youll still have to activate the lights via the remote.
I'm on a budget for this what do u recommend as far as a full multi kit for a 2018 street glide for the wheels motor everything
this one smile.amazon.com/LivTee-Motorcycle-Multi-Color-Atmosphere-Controller/dp/B07WNTZNRP
Thank u
What kit would you recommend for a 2021 Road Glide Limited
amzn.to/37KOKE5 this kit has the extensions for the front wheel in the box...everything you need to light it up.
How long of an extension do I need to do the front wheel on 15 street glide special! Thanks
depending on what kit you have and how long the leads are any of these will work..they have these in different sizes..I wouldnt get anything less than 36 inches off this link...you can put the excess behind the side cover..better to have too much amzn.to/3e2X4zf
I have a kit that has a hard switch where would you suggest mounting it? 17 street glide
I mount those right under the seat above the transmission on the wall in front of the battery, I usually stick them on with 3m sticky tape.
What do you do with the wires on the inside of the front fender? Can’t figure out how to run the wires without them rubbing on the tire
I put the edge of the light right a the back of the fender bracket..pull it out and pull it tight to the brake line and zip tie it off.
hi,if my lights are not working, could it be my inline fuse has blown, thanks
Sorry I'm late responding but yes..could be...just have to check it...could be a loose ground or positive wire though too...thats about it,...if it isnt working after you check that stuff then you have a bad box.
How did you identify the brake wire to splice into
Service manual or just use a test light amzn.to/3Re7fpb ...ignition on, probe the wires or pins and look for the one that gets brighter when you apply the brakes.
Did you run the front fender wire along the brake line
yes...a few zip ties and your good...youll hardly notice it there
For the under fender lights- won’t they get caked with dirt and grit when it’s wet and rainy? Then they won’t be bright?
the clear rubbery plastic stuff that is over the lights protect them and the rain water will get rid of all of the dirt...im sure over time it will get cloudy. Ive road mine in its fair share of rain and dont ever see a significant difference it brightness.
Does anybody know, if you buy the kit off amazon, do you need to buy a set of extensions separate, or is the amazon kit fit a streetglide/roadglide?
The only extensions you will need is for the front wheel and some kits come with those extensions. Just read the description on "whats in the box"
I wish I could do it with u walking me through it lolatep by step on the phone lol
You'll get it...its very easy..just lay them out where you want them and stick them, route all the wires back to where you are putting the box and plug them in all in.
I’m curious why you didn’t use a fused circuit extender and just plug into the acc/ing. position in the fuse box? That way when the key is off there is no chance of drawing your battery down.
You can do that if you want...ive installed quite a few of these and never had an issue of it drawing power when it was off. But nothing stopping you from doing that.
My buddy just had Scottsdale Harily Davison install his LED Accent Lights. Front fender lights fell off within the first week, and the underframe strip (Left side) also fell off. They charged him almost $800, and want to charge for Labor to fix the strips that fell OFF. Thanks, Steve for showing how easy this install is and Under $75 in materials (including ZipTies), and it did take me a few more hours than your Video LoL.
Nick in Arizona
jeeeez 800 bucks for led lights install? I dont know why that shocks me, its HD....what doesnt surprise me is that it started falling off. ..Im glad you got yours installed and saved a ton of money doing it..glad to help!
I have a 2001 fatboy. How can I hide the wire front the front fender? I think it may not look right.
yeah hiding wires on a softail is tricky...no really good way to do it that you wont see it
Is the kuryakyn kit a better quality?
I dont think it is for the price...I dont like those pods they have. very hard to hide those
How did u run the wires to the front fender?
under the tank, down the brakes lines and into the fender
What kit is this? The kit listed for Amazon only has 12 lights..... I need a couple more. Also, Amazon says that this kit won’t work on my 13 Road King. Why would that be?
Don't go by Amazon's won't fit on lights...they hook to your battery..you can literally out these on golf cart or anything that has a battery. And really just look through them on amazon and find a kit you like..they are all about the same and there are tons of them to choose from.
how do you run the wires for the lights under the front fender so they don't get pinched when turning the wheel?
run them down your brakes lines and tuck it under the edge of the fender to the light...youre pinch points will be at the neck area when you turn, On a Street glide leave yourself plenty of slack for turning before you zip tie them off to the brake line
@@sikbaggers thank you Sir!
