    Considering they also said they are going to add the Dynasty system (mortality and successions), then I could see them merging Setnakhte and Ramesses to make one faction

      Good point,curious what kind of CK3 mess we'll get with the family tree and succession of Seti and Tausret ( and well,ol' Merneptah)

    • @ancienthistorygaming
      @ancienthistorygaming Před měsícem +1

      @@ReptilicusTV I pointed this out on the official TW discord server and asked it as a question on the Q&A. Like they could have can do it this way, if Setnakhte doesn't have any more children or surviving children besides Ramesses then when Setnakhte dies than Ramesses inherits his territory and if Ramesses dies before Setnakhte and doesn't have children than Setnakhte inherits Ramesses's territory. With Seti and Tausret their eldest child will take the territory of the first one to die and the second one will take the others but if they have one child than that child gets both. Then I guess Seti can inherit Merneptah's territory unless there could be winning Merneptah's favor in which Tausret, Merneptah, and Amenmesse competes to win over Menerptah to become his official heir with Seti having a slight advantage over the other two, with Ramesses and Setnakhte can buy their way into this since they are distant kin I believe. If your faction doesn't have an heir than when your faction leader dies the best general character becomes the faction leader and you take a 50% reduction in your legitimacy points, which could mean Civil War if you barely hold the throne. Then on the death of Merneptah have it a choice for AI or human player if they are not Merneptah's chosen heir to take on the heir apparent in a Civil War.

    Ya'll remember that there was supposed to be 3 faction packs dlcs, we got one already as a free update (the high tide update), and a campaign dlc (which could be this map expansion). So there is a possibility if we only get 4 factions with this update that we could see more factions added later by free updates or by paid DLC this depends how ever on how the games does after this update.

    • @ReptilicusTV

      @Everesteg Před měsícem

      @@ReptilicusTV yes, it's actually something that modders can do, perhaps even better of the developers so we remove the risk of any paid faction packs. Anyone who talks to developers on discord would be better off focusing on what modders can't do: 1) request to add the area around the western area of Lake Van (the one to the south east is already planned) in order to add the Urartu faction and very slight enlargement towards the interior of the territory of the Elamite kingdom of Susa, with these two arrangements the map for me becomes 10/10 2) make creative assembly remember that their success over their rivals was possible thanks to two fields in which they have always been at the forefront: the size of the battles and the animations of the units, we must bring animations of the same quality as Attila in pharaoh 3) I've never played Pharaoh so I don't know if there is any proto cavalry unit like in Troy, if there isn't one it should be added because its animations would be fundamental in the event of the creation of a mod that brings the game into 800/600 BC (Neo-Assyrian Empire, Neo-Babylonian Empire, Cimmerian and Scythian invasions etc etc)

    Really can't recommend enough a book called "Samson" by Ze'ev Jabotinsky, one of the most influential modern Jewish-national thinkers and writers. it describes the biblical story with much more historical and contextual detail - for example naming one of the Philistine characters "Aktur", an echo of the legend of troy and possible origin of the sea people. amazing read.

    People forget about the records that foreign peoples translate everything into their language. There is a record about Aleksandr. That is a typical Greek name called Alexandros. You can tell from that alone that the translation is correct. Paris had two names. Not just Paris but also Aleksandros. One of the most striking pieces of evidence that Troy is Trojan-Greek. According to Greek stories, Dardanos, the progenitor of Troy, lived with his army and people in Arcadia in central Greece. And then emigrated and traveled up to the Hellespont. He is the forefather of Priam and Aeneas. Aeneas, who can also be seen in Total War Troy, was the last ruler of Dardania in Priam's time, named after the progenitor Dardanos. Then came the son Tros, after which the landscape was named when he said goodbye to his father from the city. Then came his son Ilos, who built the city and after which the original name is Ilion (Troia). Then comes the next king, Laomedon of Troy, and then we're already at Priam. Where Prince Hector is the crown prince. Everything was recorded by the Greeks. The fact that Troy is also very rich would explain why the tyrannical Agamemnon was so keen to destroy the Trojan Empire. Because of wealth. That's why I hope that we'll be able to play the crown prince Hector. I like him a lot. And I'd love to fend off the Mycenaean invasion and the waves of the Sea Peoples that are still to come. But based on the circumstances alone, I think Troy will be very difficult to play. On the left are the Mycenaeans and the Sea Peoples. On the right are the Hittites. There will be friendly relations with the Assyrians because historically the Assyrians wanted to help the Trojans against the Mycenaeans, but they came much too late. Only the Egyptians made it in time. But it is historical that Troy was taken and burned down. Traces of war were found on its ruins. And the place was exactly as the ancient Greeks described it.

      Troy will be a nightmare to play for sure,there are already so many rampaging hordes of Kaskians and Phrygians in Anatolia...gonna be a full on war zone once the map is expanded with more threats.
