I think ladies/men that do this are usually projecting what they've experienced before. So they're trying to tread carefully and make sure it doesn't happen again. I personally think, they need to heal before moving on. I don't believe in invading someone's privacy like that. There should be a level of trust in a relationship.

He wants to meet your parents because he is convinced he has found the woman he wants to settle down with. Generally, men who quickly want a girl pants down on early on in relationship is mostly wanting a nice time and then move on.. Only the lady you described in this post can decipher her position. You cant make a man want to stay permanently when he only came for a play. Ladies who agree to play cannot complain of cheating. The mind of men work differently to that of women.
