Film was on a tight schedule through 2020-2021 due to the COVID outbreak. (Storyboard's date 08(August)/2020.) It's like Shadow's design, there wasn't enough time, so they recolor Super Sonic to Shadow for that scene until they developed the third film with a finished Shadow design.
Like that for example, there wasn't enough time to do scenes for that. COVID made a lot of things to struggle.
