Epic Universe News: DARK UNIVERSE Details Revealed! All Rides, Food, Entertainment, Stories & More

- Universal has announced all the details for Dark Universe, my most anticipated world at Epic Universe, the new theme park scheduled to open in Orlando, FL in 2025! In this video, I am going to share everything that was announced today, some fun facts, my thoughts on all of this and what it means, and my favorite details we know so far! Dark Universe is one of the five worlds within Epic Universe, and it's based on classic Universal Monsters with new twists! As a huge Universal Monsters fan, I honestly can't believe how lucky we are to be getting this entire world within the new theme park!! So now that we finally have the announcements, I'm going to delve into all the details, everything that was announced, and share with you the official rides, dining, entertainment, theming and more about Dark Universe! We got a cool look at the model in the Epic Universe Preview Center so now we can put that to good use to compare and explore!
Each monster actually has a specific moon phase associated with it. The werewolf has a full moon, Dracula has a crescent moon, the creature from the black lagoon has a waxing/ waning gibbous, and Frankenstein has a half moon. Each moon phase gives the monster a maximum of power. They can actually access their elemental abilities from the moon phase. While others can access superhuman strength.

I'm not a big horror fan, but I have to say this looks amazing. So many different characters to interact with, a state of the art dark ride, incredible immersiveness. This very well could be the best of the 4 portals at Epic, but seems like it's also the most difficult to pull off. I have faith
Same here. I'm not a fan of the horror genre, yet watching the announcement video for Dark Universe had me more excited than the other "introducing (x)" videos.
it’s so exciting to me because this kind of budget and attention has never been put into a horror/spooky themed attraction. haunted houses are just seasonal and temporary, but this is permanent and built to the same standards as the best lands in the world.
This is the land I’m most excited for!!!

The theme of it all is just amazing, and we get the OG Monsters too! what more could you ask for. The attractions look incredible, the food sounds great, and I love that they're keeping it family friendly. Well done Universal, It will be Epic indeed 🧛♂🧟♂🦹♂

I'm gonna have to go watch the original Universal monsters movies before Epic Universe opens! This is by far the land I'm looking forward to most and just imagine the views guests will have from the in park hotel of Dark Universe and the rest of the lands!

Yes I am very happily surprised at how popular this is! I’ve made videos about so many monster things in the past and usually they only reach a very niche audience, but it seems the popularity is growing now! Which I’m glad about!

Theming is a 11/10! I’m so excited for this. My youngest son love Universal Monsters, it has been his introduction into horror movies. Can’t wait to visit with my family. Frankenstein Castle looks to be the perfect mix between screen and practical effects.
This will be the best land, blown away by the imagination here. Super Nintendo will be awesome but not much a secret since we've seen most of it before. Also looking forward to magic of ministry ride.
I am not an HHN fan, but I am an old school monsters fan like Dracula and Frankenstein. To say I’m excited is a massive understatement lol. Can not wait to see the classic monsters in their own world!
It's so unbelievable that this will exist, and I think it will please both HHN fans and class Monster fans both, it's like a perfect medium ground. No jump scares, just the spooky atmosphere and classic tales with new mythology and history mixed in!
@@SuperEnthusedReally prefer this Dark Universe old school stuff to HHN, because I have never been a fan of that HHN type of gory jump scare attractions. 😊

My favorite element of HHN was the classic monsters. This world is going to be PERFECT! Can’t wait but I want a great experience, so I’ll have to wait for the initial crush to subside. 😢

Loving the concept. Are you getting the vibe that each of these worlds are going to be fully immersive? It almost sounds like you can spend an entire day/night in Dark Universe and not want to leave.

This looks ABSOLUTLY AMAZING!! Of all the "worlds" in Epic Universe, I think I would love this one the most. So much detail and I really am loving how it is kid friendly where families can enjoy this together!

I am the most excited for this land. I cannot wait!! I'm definitely going to go back and rewatch all the classic Universal monster movies and the newer Universal monster movies before I go just to get me ready.

This is 100% the land where you will fine me (and Isle of Berk!) because it’s everything I’ve wanted to exist at Universal since I was a teenager. I first visited in 1996 as a 15 year old, deep in my vampire and gothic awakening. I’d read Dracula and Frankenstein, and was all about the Universal Monsters content. I visited the Horror Make Up Show multiple times, and Beetlejuice’s Graveyard Revue was a firm favourite. This land sounds like it is on another level. It will be a few years before I get to visit but I really hope all of the back story and wandering entertainers are there to stay. Also: you’re so right about what these stories can teach us about humanity and how we live our lives. Before we accuse anyone else of being a monster because they’re different, we should all take a look in the mirror.
Freshmen year college world history class required reading several novels to complement the curriculum. "Frankenstein" was one of those and, yes, it was more than only a monster story. Many socistal and morality issues are deeper takeaways. As always, Jackie opens our eyes to the whole picture.❤
This sounds a lot like what Batuu was supposed to be, but then got budget cut and understaffed to death. I hope this makes it to live without too much pruning though, because it sounds incredible.
It sounds like some of the locations have 'hidden' explorable areas too... the description of the Stakehouse is worded like you might be able to find your way into the catacombs under the restaurant and snoop around.

I know I watch now all the Harry Potter films over again and again before my visits and I'm still seeing something new every time I watch that is at the park. Now I get to add new list of movies. I so excited.

The only thing I've seen a little similar to this was at Busch Gardens VA. They had the ride DarKastle which was similar to the ride format of Spiderman but with a horror twist. It was their favorite ride. But they said maintenance was getting out of control. It has since been replaced with a small roller coaster.
I would so love if they found a way to add Abbott and Costello to the monster section.. many childhood memories watching these movies with my dad!
I am a Phantom of the Opera diehard fan. Have seen the Musical 8 times and have watched the Phantom of the Opera film that came out years ago. Adore the silent movie as well. Thank you, Jackie for always giving the best tours ever. Happy Blessings.
Happy Summer Solstice or "Tairisem." Dark Universe is the land Im most looking forward to. When I was a kid growing up, I was obsessed with Universal Monsters. I read Frankenstein and Dracula and would peruse TV Guide to see if any channel was running any of the old Universal Monster movies. Once in a while, our local movie theater, which was once an old Vaudeville theater, would run some of the Universal Monster Movies and my friends and I would go. I always dreamed of this. Now it's actually happening.

Dark Universe is going to be incredible during the day, but it is going to be the pinnacle of theme parking after dark. 😍 I would argue that Alton Towers in the UK kind of has a spooky theme throughout and could probably be thought of as the forerunner of dark/monstrous/spooky worlds within in the industry; so Universal isn't _quite_ the first to put this idea (or this scale) on the table. Having said that, Universal is the gold standard when it comes to immersion and theming and this land is going to totally blow every other spooky theme park effort out of the water! Most excited for the Monsters Unchained ride and the Burning Blade Tavern, for sure. Can't wait to meet all the roaming monsters. The renderings for the promo video look great, but my hope and my prayer is that the Monsters Unchained ride itself isn't too reliant on screens. A pitch so grand as this deserves physical sets and animatronics! 😉 So excited to see all of your future content from this land, knowing how much you love the classic Universal Monsters! Im so excited. Ive dreamed for a land like this for over 50 years. Im 63. The land itself looks like those old movies BUT I heard they a going to reimagine the look of the monsters. Thats like reimagining the wheel or the Mona Lisa. I sure hope they dont do this. Keep the original look. I wonder what the kids and grandkids of these actors who are still with us, Sara Karloff, Bela Lugosi Jr. and Ron Chaney are going to think.
I get that they’re trying to bring the monsters to younger generations but I really wish they would’ve just given us the classic monsters! The redesign really isn’t for me but I’ll definitely be checking this out. I’m sure it will still be a great land and a fun time!
I love what Universal has done with their scarier attractions like The Mummy's Revenge, Velocicoaster, Halloween Horror Nights, and even spooky parts of Forbidden Journey and Kong: Skull Island. I really can't wait for this land!

Recently visited Europa Park and they have a Phantom of the Opera VR experience on one of the rollercoasters. Thought it worked really well.
Oh. My. God. I'm excited for this new park, but was thinking that I'd let some time pass before visiting, but this land is making me want to go now. This looks amazing, and I can't wait for your videos covering it. The whole aesthetic is strangely cozy to me. I bet it'll be amazing at night in Autumn.

I never used to be big into the monsters/villains aspect of Universal and truly get so scared at HHN but your excitement for it sparks something in me every year and gets me so excited for Fall 🤪🎃
The burning windmill is intriguing. I had assumed they would use a similar effect to 'Big Bob' at Wickerman (Alton Towers) in the UK whereby they incorporate screens within the structure showing flames as well as lots of smoke effects. But Universal sound like they're really going all out on this one!
I thought so too, and an impressed it will be actual fire!

Jackie, when you mentioned Dr.Victoria Frankenstein and how her grandfather warned her it’s dangerous. I immediately thought of the movie Halloweentown where Marnie is being a smartie pants saying to her mom “ Look! I’m a potato, are you happy now? “. “ Maybe I will put down some roots in the carpet! , oh no Marnie, that’s dangerous! there’s things about vegetables that you don’t understand “. lol

I LOVE the phantom musical as well, but I think this may be the classic Phantom silent film version. That’s the one Universal has the rights to. Though it would be cool to have the ALW score if they could make that possible. Either way I’m EXCITE!
Yes the ALW tune is just wishful thinking.
I honestly hate halloween and most monster stuff but if the park actually looks like the concept art I could at least appreciate walking around there. Just like I never liked Harry Potter but Wizarding World looks pretty magical. Never actually been to Universal but the POV ride-alongs and walthroughs are great. I do have a slight appreciation for the macabre (think Romantics-era poetry) as long as the ghoulies aren't too intense or gory....no zombies. They scare me all the time.

The monster her grandfather made will be relatively easy for Victoria to control but this is par for the course. I wonder if they can make me a werebear? But if they can have the songs from Phantom of the Opera that would be fun. This is a place I want to visit.
