  • HI guys, following on from my LS2 MX01 Explorer Carbon unboxing and first look video a few viewers asked some questions as I mentioned that it could be made into a Street helmet but did not show the process. so here is a how-to for anyone thinking about buying one of these fantastic carbon fibre helmets.
    As always everything I review is bought and paid for with my own cash so my opinions are always 100% mine.

    What a gorgeous design. Getting one in a couple of weeks, I found them surprisingly oversized, M fitted my usually XL sized head

      Great news👍 take a look at my other video showing how to change iy into a street focused helmet instead of the adventure type. Have a read through the comments to find a link to LS2 website for the converaion kit.

    Funny enough, both helmets that I ordered for size comparison (size S and M) from different vendors came without these additional covers. So I have no way of fixing the visor without the peak.
    You dont happen to have a part number for these three additional clips, do you?

      Have you spoke to Ls2 customer services? Just looked on ls2helmets.com the kit is on there the part number is 800701scs03. Mine came in the box but they do sell it seperatly.
      Hope this helps.

    Hola, donde se puede comprar ese kit para transformarlo en un casco integral ?

    • @bigladbiking
      @bigladbiking  Před 7 měsíci

      Hola, todo lo que ves en el vídeo venía en la caja con el casco cuando lo compré. Sugeriría ponerse en contacto con su distribuidor local de LS2 o directamente con el servicio de atención al cliente de LS2 para ver si venden las brocas por separado.
      gracias por el comentario.

    Hey bud, can you please share any of your social media handles where I can contact you. I need the photos of your speaker position for the intercom, I'm trying my best to fit my fodsports fx8, but couldn't find the best position which won't hurt my ears.
    TIA

      Hi Shubham, thanks for watching and taing time to comment.
      The only other social media i use for this chanel is instagram where i am bigladbiking.
      This video might be helpful if you have not already watched it czcams.com/video/11VDiNbHE0M/video.html where I fit a fodsports system to a different helmet.
      I found it easiest to pull the cheek pads out (it is important to know how to do this for emergencies anyway) and then there are indents in the internal foam that sit just right for my ears, also I find that the sound from the fodsports speakers are pretty good even if they are not sitting exactaly over the ears, mine sit slightly forward of the ear lobe so there is not as much preasure on my ears.

      @@bigladbiking Hey, thanks for the reply. The thing is that the LS2 explorer doesn't have speaker pockets to it which makes it very difficult to fit the speakers inside the helmet. I tried many positions but nothing helps, the speakers hurt my ear really bad and even scratched my ears while removing the helmet. If I hide them under the cheek pads, the helmet becomes too tight.
      The only thing I need is the photo of your speaker position so that I can copy it and see if that works for me. And if you're interested in making a video on it, it will be very helpful for the other fellow Ls2 Explorer owners. Thanks once again

      Hi Shubham, I can't do pictures or videos of thw helmet at the moment as all of my gear and bike is in storage at the moment as I am waiting an operation. If it helps I put my speakers under the inner liner and the sound is still great. You are right there are not set pockets for the speakers but like I said there are small recesses in the outer shell that work for me.
      Good luck mate.

    In an event of an impact, those metal screw might penetrate your skull

    • @bigladbiking
      @bigladbiking  Před rokem

      Hi Ki, thanks for watching and taking the time to commentl. The helmets pass all the safety tests (you will need to speak to LS helmets for the results😁). Most if not all helmets will have some metal components in them either where the chin strap is mounted or the visor mechanism is mounted (just checked my other helmet and yep it has metal bits). I think if you hit your helmet hard enough to punch those little screws through the helmet and in to your head then you would probably not need to worry about the screws because of the rest of the trauma. I really hope that none of us ever have to find out.

      If tiny screws are penetrating your skull because of an impact, you wouldn't feel them as you'd be dead already. As usual, ridiculous comments from couch potatoes
