      The biggest issue will be the limited number actually produced by Ford. I work at a Ford dealership in New Mexico. We do not mark up any of our vehicles. We sell everything at MSRP including the Raptor R which we just delivered 3 weeks ago. Allocation is very slim. We will be lucky if we get 3 Raptor Rangers for the entire next 12 months. I wish Ford could increase the production because I actually had an order in for the Ranger Raptor but after finding out how limited they will be I just went with a slightly pre-owned Raptor F150.

    NollerFord in Topeka, KS and ValorAutoGroup in Junction City, KS does not mark up. I ordered a 2024 Ranger Raptor yesterday with ValorAutoGroup as they had an allocation in the pipeline. It will take a couple months or so for it to be built, but we’re going to wait and enjoy when it gets in.

  • @texlee1640
    @texlee1640 Před rokem +33

    Lack of rear AC vents is absolutely silly for this day and age. Odds are the wait list will be miles long and corrupt dealers will sell them for $10-15K over sticker and sell special orders out from under customers for at least the first two years. As a long time Ford fan I am really disappointed with where the current CEO has taken the company, it's an absolute dumpster fire under his direction and with price gouging, falling QC and shortages/lack of availability, it makes it nearly impossible for myself to seriously consider buying a Ford product anytime soon. This is certainly a step in the right direction but I don't think it takes the segment.

    Really love this, for weekend overlander and keeping it fairly light with a light canopy or rack/tent. The rear seat lacking the 60/40 split isnt great and fuel prices in Canada would be depressing. premium is over 30cents a litre more expensive for diesel let alone alot of remote gas stations only offer reg(87) and diesel fuel. I also dont think campers and going fast make for the best combo in my opinion extra weight just something more to break. Tbh a gladiator rubicon diesel and this would make a hell of driveway duo.

    Great overview. I mostly agree but I'm kinda glad there are no cupholders on that center console in the back. I've owned many crewcabs in my day and inevitably a friend or child manages to step on them or just tries shoving something way too big in and breaks it, then its useless anyway. Dont want em. Door cards are fine or even put molle on the back of the front seats and do it that way. More secure and no risk of busting an interior piece.

    Now I have watched reviews for the Ranger Lariat and the Raptor, it's clear to me - I'm going to order a Lariat 4X4 V6 FX4. There's nothing specific to the Raptor that I want. Some people probably do. But to pick just one thing that makes a difference - I am not giving up the extra 2,000 pounds of towing from the Lariat (7500) to go with a Raptor (5500). Although I am not in any trade either. So storing a stack of blue board in the bed sounds cool; But I'll never do it.
    I will go to Home Depot to haul paving slabs. I will tow a travel trailer. I will go moderately off road (it's Arizona, you can't leave the big cities without some off road ability). I may be moving to snow country in Arizona. I would like the olive green of the Raptor on the Lariat - that's about all I will miss. Other people will want something different and that's fine But it's the Lariat for me. I'm retired too, so no long miles commuting. But fuel consumption is likely to be a significant concern too. Even putting the V6 in the Lariat may be too much.

With the exception of the almost 33s (which let’s face it who cares bc on either model you’ll probably swap em out and it’s only about a half inch extra diff clearance anyway) and the front locker (aftermarket for the Tremor?) and the fancy suspension which I’m not sure is gonna matter on an overlander (are you really gonna be desert racing with a cap/rack and RTT and all the other stuff we have to carry?), is there anything else special about the Raptor over a Tremor? Does the Raptor even have all the skids that the Tremor does? Curious what you think about the two.

All they had to do is add one more row of physical nobs or buttons, and this car would've basically been perfect by avoiding digging through any menus or options. Ford gave it to me at the event. It is likely on their PR site for download by now though.

    I don't understand, my 2nd gen F-150 raptor with the ecoboost v6 can do 16mpg if I'm not paying attention, or easily 20+mpg cruising on highway at around 65mph. How can this smaller lighter truck somehow gets worse mpg?

      RR is over 5300 lbs; i believe even an f150 lariat is less weight than that. Probably all that aluminum in the full size

  • @RW-zh7kl
    @RW-zh7kl Před 7 měsíci

    Idk why all these trucks are going to 4 door crew cabs, 5,300 lbs is really heavy for a supposed midsize truck

    What is Ford's issue with absent/mediocre rear AC vents? That cost-savings excuse is pure engineering BS given how complex the design for air conditioned seats is. And yet, Ford seems to have zero issue offering that as an upmarket option which tells me that they're trying to indirectly charge us for a feature that up until recently was standard across the entire industry.

      I agree. The Bronco is missing them too. My only guess is that it’s an oversight. How else could anybody deliberately deprive their back seat passengers of air?

    I really don't understand who they are making these new trucks for. If I want to play with an ipad or engage in some form of "screen time", I'll do it from my couch. Give me an analog off-road truck.

      The 2.7 V6 isn't so different as an option in the Lariat and maybe other trims. I have not seen a comparison of the power curve though and the Raptor may be aimed at HP, where the other version may favor torque a bit more (obvious advantage for towing 7500 pounds or more).

    Im so confused by this channel. Its probably the youtube algo, but its very difficult to keep ontop of what your doing. Are you constantly reposting old videos?
    Also, how was this a hands on review?

      It’s definitely a bit confusing. I’m merging my gear channel back with my main. These archive posts will be dropping on Wednesday’s and the occasional Sunday until the end of the year.

      Weird. You’re right. Guess I forgot to add those to this video. They were a little weird about showing it as I don’t think it is 100% final. But like most of the new Ford’s no engine covers. The auxiliary ends are towards the front. I remember filming them but I’m sorry missed adding them to this video. My bad.

    I cancelled my Bronco bc of no rear ac. I was so down for the Ranger Raptor, but I live in Houston and have kids, so no rear ac is a no-go. Ford got soo much right on this truck only to F it up at the finish line.

    You will never find a Ranger Raptor under $57k. You could possibly order one if you’re lucky and get it in 2 years. This new way of doing things is infuriating. The world today is just infuriating.
