  • The words 누군가 and 아무나 are often misused in sentences that mean “someone” and “anyone,” when they’re used as nouns that are modified by adjectives. I explain how this sort of usage is wrong, and how you can easily make more natural sentences that mean “someone” and “anyone” with the word 사람.

    I have a question,
    I often see the verb 맛있다 being conjugated into the present tense adjective form 맛있는.
    But since 맛있다 is (as far as I know) a descriptive verb, should it not be conjugated as 맛있은 when conjugating into present tense adjective?

    • @GoBillyKorean
      @GoBillyKorean  Před rokem +4

      있다 and 없다 are conjugated as if they're action verbs (있는/없는).

    My crack at the last sentence is;
    여기에 한국어 공부한 사람이에요?
    Edit: after looking at the comments, I see the ending is 있어요 and I understand why.
    Next question - could the word "여긴 be used in the beginning of the sentence instead of 여기에?

    • @suda-nz
      @suda-nz Před rokem +1

      Yes. almost the same meaning. 여긴 = 여기는. If you say 여긴 instead of 여기에, it sounds like you are comparing. you asked the same question to other groups or other places, or you are going to ask. And you want to know if someone is learning Korean in this group or this place as well.

    한근말을 공부하는사람이 있어요?
    On one hand at the beginning of the video I immediately thought 사람 before you said it so there’s hope but this grammar point has been kicking me in the ass for years. Granted I’m not actively speaking or writing Korean at all but still. It sort of seems to match up with Japanese but not quite. I learned Japanese in a class at junior college and the teacher had a syllabus with tests so we had to review stuff over time but self study isn’t so disciplined. This video is good but how to not forget 😂. Ugh. I think I might make my own study plan like a college syllabus complete with tests. I’ll need to include scheduled watching and rewatching of your videos of course.

      the first part of your sentence " 한근말을" contains a spelling error, so it should be "한국말을 "
      so "한국말을 공부하는 사람이 있어요? "

    • @williamnorris6184
      @williamnorris6184 Před rokem +4

      I don't know if i can explain it best, but basically if you add 주다 to another verb i think it kinda has the meaning of doing whatever that verb entails for someone/the subject.
      사진을 찍다 = take a photo
      사진을 찍어주다 = take a photo (for someone)
      You're giving them the favour of doing that for them.
      Does that help????
