Owners were buying championship clubs, just spending money as a gamble to get into the epl and if they fail then they leave and the club is in financial ruin . Ffp isn't really there to stop owners from just pumping their own money in if it's not going to damage the club

The PL wasn’t bullshitting the fact that they looked into this for 4 years and dropped it now shows that they found something. They wouldn’t have said anything if they didn’t find a smoking gun.

What’s interesting is I reckon the board thought that if they got out of the woods on this then they’d be fine moving forward. They seem to have moved to a more sustainable transfer policy in the market in the last couple of seasons, i.e. selling Sterling, Jesus, Ferran Torres for £50m+ and their net spend has been far more controlled than previously. Hilarious though because there’s no way they haven’t shattered FFP in the last decade. Problem is that as much as the PL/UEFA talk the talk about bans etc, they don’t want to do it at all. They know that whether it’s Man City/Man United/Real Madrid etc, they need these teams to be competing in order to keep fans entertained and the money coming in…

Chelsea haven't broken rules and have been compliant with ffp since 2012. City spent twice as much as chelsea did in the abramovich era in a 7 year period but they don't have anywhere close the fanbase or income of chelsea. Chickens coming to roost.

Anyone who is saying "there should be a retroactive points deduction" doesn't understand just how massive the financial ramifications will be for every other club. It would effect the revenue of clubs massively and create a nightmare for FFP going forward. For full transparency I am a man city fan but I believe if we are found guilty they should 100% make an example out of us, everyone knows we are not the first club to break ffp but with the way football ownership is going they should make sure we are the last or this stuff is only going to get worse and kill football in the long term. I may be a city fan but I'm a football fan first
