    In this video Brian and Bradford review the Sennheiser XSW-D wireless pedalboard set for guitar. It's a very compact wireless guitar unit with an integrated tuner. In our experience it worked perfectly in a variety of settings.
    Setting up the wireless unit is very easy and the unit requires essentially zero setup - just plug in and play.

    Does the XLR out function like a DI? Could I run this with an acoustic and just run straight out to the board via XLR? And further, could phantom power power this unit?

    I use the dual dongle style (receiver is the same as the transmitter) XSW-D with my acoustic guitars. The sound is perfect, battery life is great... and NO drop outs.

      what is this?? please elaborate here - so you can use TWO of the transmitter units to eliminate the need for the pedal receiver?

      @chadnedohin Před 3 lety

      @@JeffreyRutland Yes, sort of. There is a receiver that looks identical to the transmitter (except for a sticker on the back that says transmitter. Only down side is that you have to charge the receiver instead of having it plugged into pedalboard power

    Hey you two, thanks for your review. It was very helpful. The only thing I consider right now (while I’m in the market for a wireless guitar unit in 2022): Do you really think that 5 hours of battery life could be enough for a whole Sunday?
    At our church we have 4 services (10 am, 12 am, 5 pm, 7 pm) with two sound checks one in the morning one at 3pm. And so I could imagine that I would get more than 5 hours of usage total on a Sunday.
    I think it’s unfortunate that battery life is shorter than for example on a shure glxd 16 and that there is even no possibility of changing batteries or an extra battery pack.
    So when I would need a quick charge it’s kind of hard in my mind.
    And the thought of charging the unit during noon is kind of bothering me when I spend that amount of money. I’d like to think of battery life the days before and have the sundays mindly free for other stuff.
    But I would really appreciate your opinion on that scenario as you already had it in live use. Thanks for your precious work! :)

    I was gonna guy the GLXD16 factory direct and just received word that it’s already discontinued. I need to know if the XSW-D is a better alternative, or should I wait till Shure announces whatever replaces the GLXD16 (probably months or a couple of years).

    I have the line6 and the only upside to this I can see is the angle input, no cable needed for charging, syncing just plug into base and done. Wouldn’t be hard to do a strap mount system for the line 6. Also the on off switch of the line6 is a great feature.

    Looks like a really solid unit. It’s on my short list. Minor issue: I only wish the extension cable would’ve had a 90 degree male 1/4” input. But you can purchase one of those cable separately.

    Tons of people use a wireless network on stage to control their IEM mix via an app like mixing station. Front of house engineer might also have a wireless network set up on stage for wireless mixing. So yeah it’s pretty common actually.

    • @ForminaSage402
      @ForminaSage402 Před rokem

      RF systems are always gonna perform better than 2.4GHz wireless systems, and today’s RF systems are really easy to tune to avoid interference. The Sennheiser EW-D/EW-DX systems will run circles around this. These quickly start to have dropout issues when you have multiple players on stage with them, when there’s another WiFi network for running production, when people’s cell phones or iPads have their WiFi turned on…
