- "Do You Hear What I Hear?" was written in October 1962 with music by Gloria Shayne Baker and lyrics by Noel Regney. The song was written as a plea for peace during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Johnny Mathis recorded "Do You Hear What I Hear?" for his 1969 album, Give Me Your Love For Christmas, produced by Jack Gold.

Magical
It would be hard to choose which Johnny Mathis' Christmas Carol, or song I love the most, but this one would be, at the top, of my list. Mainly, because, of how he uses his voice to distinguish between the Shepherd Boy, and The Mighty King! I hope you don't mind, if I use this, and, "O Holy Night," in a new Playlist.
Shirley Arlene Gray Thank you for your reply, Shirley. I agree with you, it is hard to choose a favorite Johnny Mathis Christmas song, and I also agree that "Do You Hear What I Hear" is probably near or at the top of my list, too. I especially like the way the song picks up steam and peaks with Johnny's incomparable vocal. I never get tired of hearing it! Yes, feel free to use any of my songs for your playlist. Merry Christmas.
***** Thanks, Bob! I finished the playlist, on December 12, 2014, and uploaded it, on YT, Google+, Twitter, and my Facebook page! It took several years, for me to get 9,800 views, on my first Christmas Playlist. It takes my playlists longer, since I don't create any videos, so it takes people longer to find me. That should be eliminated, with the opportunity to upload the playlists, on several sites! Thanks, again!
