I've been thinking, how did Bach write all those pieces in a very short time? And this Italian Concert, so many notes and everything, how??

Now, writing music as good as Bach may be very hard, depending on how you define "as good as"; but writing music that's very similar to Bach in a short time frame isn't that difficult! Lots and lots of hard work in species and invertible counterpoint, as well as harmony and improvisation (these are the kind of things Bach is considered to be GOAT at) would allow anyone the ability write tonal style music rapidly.

I think we all start off with the potential to 'hear' complex music in our heads but since for most people nothing is done to develop it we lose it. But Bach was born into a musical family and that part of him was developed from the earliest age. The relationships between tones was so familiar to him that he could imagine complex harmonies in his head and then commit them to writing.

What do you mean about “very short time?” He wrote music for 50 years and it was his job.

My desire as a youngster had been to be a bilingual English and Parisienne speaker. Thus, no one could detect my heritage which Hungarian. In my youthful dreams, it was certain that as a superlative 🎹 pianist; my yen to travel 🗺 worldwide would certainly be a synch. Definitively, this marvel of music proves, it never could come to fruition. Admiring such a glorious performance is my gift. Impressive and awesome. And if I can ask, what age did you begin playing/ practicing this piece or how long did it take to learn? ( I hate questions like that... but just thought to ask -I don't I'd even try -it would take too many years for me. (in my 60's)

Terrible performance. Do you not understand Bach? So many moments lost in the incredibly flat playing. Why didn’t you bring out the left hand where it was clearly the melodic lead? Why didn’t you voice the mirrored fragments in the alto more lightly than the soprano? It’s just bad and uneducated Bach playing.

@ bart-This piece was composed for harpsichord where the dynamics of touch are much the same on all keys, only recently with fine measuring oscillators is it claimed that there is maybe a slight difference .- Geeze I feel like a bbc reporter now. -What do I know ?
