- Hi Everyone, Autumn has arrived and in this video, I take a walk around Stratford Upon Avon, famous for Shakespeare.
The video follows a loop from the River Avon past the RSC theatre down Waterside, turning right into Old Town and right again into Church St, Chapel St, and High St. We then take a left into Wood St. Just past the American fountain, we take a right into Windsor St and then right, walking the length of Henley St. The route is roughly 2 miles.
The route takes in plenty of attractions associated with the history of Stratford Upon Avon and Shakespeare.
I hope you like this video, if so, give it the thumbs up. ThankYou.
Until next time, stay safe.
Regards,
Andy x

Live in NZ now but I was born in Hampton Lucy and had my childhood and adolescence in Stratford. Mum worked at the theatre and Dad was the cocktail bartender at the Swans Nest. Thank you for the memories

Hi Andy, I've been to Stratford loads but didn't recognise some of the streets, next time I will have to make more of an effort. Great video.
Hi Sue, thanks for your comments.
It looks a really pretty and interesting town. Not somewhere I've been yet, but certainly looks worth a visit!
Hi, yes there plenty to see, history and sites. Popular with tourists during summer and some nice 🚶♂️ by the river.
Used to be a beautiful town.
Hi Sally, what would you say has changed for you? On face value the centre looks great for exploring.

I worked at Loggins the chemist when I left school in the High street .Lots of fabulous shops, restaurants and pubs have gone. Fred Winters Debenhams, Myasotis, Dorothy Perkins,Loxleys, Pargetters,Woolworths, The George, Hathaway tea rooms, The Spinning Wheel, Baildhams, Liptons supermarket, Dewhursts,Predys tobaconist, The Cobwebb tea rooms ,cinema in Rother Street and the Bancroft gardens used to be planted with roses. Also trees along Waterside and not an ugly tower at the Shakespeare's Theatre or a ferris wheel by the river, Tacky.!!!
Sally I understand especially with retail, my aim is show the best of a location. If you have any locations you would like me to visit please let me know and I will add to my list for consideration for the future.
Andy is this place expensive to live and settle
