Black fives just have to be one of the best looking locos ever built. There's an LMS one and a BR version in my collection to which I've just added a standard class 5. The BR liveried class 5 was obtained used and had never been serviced. It's quite a fiddly job and required lots of patience, the result was nothing short of miraculous. A tiny drop of Bachmann E-Z Lube on the rear of the tender wheels helps reduce the squeaking noise without compromising electrical conductivity! Check for sticky gunge on the tender connection plate too 😉
J Loco, AKA the Black 5 Lady. A Black 5 is not just for Christmas, they are part of the family. If you adopt a Black 5 make sure she's looked after or Jen will be not best pleased. Jen, if you decide to offer one of the 5's at some point up for adoption please let us know. Seriously though , I'm a big fan of the 5. A great workhorse but often over looked by many in favour of more famous engines. Many thanks for sharing.
Nice collection I bet that didn't come cheap! Lol I currently own 1 black 5 number 45360 in N gauge along side 3 other locos, a 4MT 2-6-4 (80064), 3F Jinty (47594) & a 4F (44018).
I have 0 locos with 5 digit road numbers, but quite a few with 3 and 4. I was watching another Great Electric Train Show video and it looks like OO Gauge is very popular there. Thanks for your video!
hi Jen. Have you ever thought about aquiring one of the many variants of the Black 5. There were several experimental variants fitted with caprotti valve gear (with and without a higher running plate.). Even with double chimneys! They would look not out of place on your layout.
Back in the 60's I will never forget seeing 44686 at Abergele and Pensarn station, running smoke box first down the platform towards me to pick up some empty stock which had been stored on the down slow line over the winter months. With it's high running plate and prominent steam pipes what an impressive and unusual loco it was.
Hi J. Three Black 5's in operation and the caprotti on order with Hornby, not a tad on your total, but do have 80 DDC sound locos on my layout, so not room for anymore without them spending a lot of time stood idle. Keep up the good work, great vids.
You inspired me Jen and I now have the grand total of two. I am hoping to find and purchase an n gauge black five next month at the Warley show for my new N gauge layout.
Who doesn't love a gal who loves a Black 5 or 15 or so! Iirc there was 850 in the class, will you collect them all Jen 🤔🤔😳😳😄😄✌️💜🤞👍🙏😊 Will you do a video of PWs layout Jen?🤔🤞
Some questions: 1) What started your Black 5 obsession? 2) When do you think you'll have enough? Or is that a silly question and you're aiming for all 848? 3) Have you tried therapy?😁🤣🤣🤣 Also do you have any other LMS 4-6-0s e.g. Patriots, Royal Scots, Jubilee class? Or is it only Black 5s you crave? The measely two Balck 5s in my collection now makes me feel inadequate😀, though my wish list does include Hornby's new tooling Glasgow Yeomanry. I think everyone has a favourite loco class. The one I have most of is A4s. Ten, plus another three I'm selling. However at least my A4s are in 7 different coloured liveries and the other three have variations such as different coloured name plates, silver lettering rather than gold and commonwealth badges. I also love the Coronation class of which I have six, covering four different liveries and three eras and all a bit different. I think that's enough though. If your Black 5 addiction makes you happy though then that's all that matters. Rule No1 - Run what you like.
Hi Jen first off...your absolutely gorgous!!!! Second I hate having two locos with the same number. So I am constently changing numbers. Try to keep the renumbering to prototype. But I have locos a railroad never had and change there numbers and markings to coinside with the prototype numbering even though the railroad never owned one. It is called freelancing. Our being modelers and collectors gives us the right to do whatever we want. @#%× everyone else. Great seeing you. Be safe and happy. G
hahah, this is an interetinmg way to clock up subscribers, put a good looking women on the show ! ??? this will play with the minds of all those "train enthusasts"
Wow how condescending 😂 the trains are my collection and if you were to be on Instagram you would be very familiar with me as a genuine Railway enthusiast. Nice to see there are still a few small minded males in the hobby that believe it's not for women it appears by your unnecessary comment. 🙄

Hi Jen, 842 were build from 1934 to 1951, there were 11 variants and of these 18 are preserved.
Thank you 💕 yes I'm aiming to have all of the 18 preserved ones with a few extras 😁
I do have many other types of locos that have featured in my previous videos 😁👍
No black 5s. Around 15 A4s thou. Do like a streak
Lovely...have 5 of those myself so you way beat me on those 😁👍
I dont own a Black 5 but have all 43 A4s with their various names. I include Gadwall, but Not Dominion of Pakistan as naming never took place
Oh wow that's a lot of A4s 💕
I was gifted my first one at Xmas 1960 when I was only 10 months old. My cousin who is 6months younger than me got a LMS Princess
And I thought I was mad at 15 Black Fives .
😂😂 now 15 is impressive! I like it 😁💕
Fantastiche Jen👏👏👑🚂
Grazie Fabio 💕💕
Across all gauges 15
Oooh that's a good amount 😍💕

J-Loco and her Black 5 habit… the question is, how many more will you come back with from the Great Electric Train Show? 😊
😂😂😂 I must try and control the urge for more 😂😂😂
I don't have any black 5s. I'm not sure how this is possible
You need to rectify this situation 🤣💕
Amazing 😊
Thank you 💕
I have none
Oh nooo... hopefully you may one day... unless of course you don't want any 😁

Maybe... if I decide to get some I will put them on here 😁
