- This is a quick installation video of Railpro in the new Bachmann Dash 9. No need to remove the entire shell or figure out which wire is for each specific function. The details are in the manual. This is the easiest Railpro installation I’ve ever done.
Thanks! Your video was very helpful!!
Thank you..can you tell if making it battery railpro will be difficult? Also are worried about overheating the railpro in the tight confines of the unit? Just curious. Thank you for doing it
Battery power should be fairly simple. There’s a battery “plug” on the Bachmann circuit board (the manual shows exactly where it is). I would put the batteries in the fuel tank of the Dash 9 and add a charging port to the switch board. I plan on converting 1 to battery next month. I’ll film it. The space for the Railpro module is pretty “airy”. I’ve run both Dash 9’s for 4+ hours straight without any problems or overheating
Thank you so much. I look forward to the video. I just ordered mine but I'm dead rail so I do hope that it is easy. keep up the nice videos and good luck with the unit. I can't wait for the GP-40 and hopefully more.
If you run outside you will probably be faced with overheating issues unless you install a finned heat sink. Be absolutely sure to install with the metal facing upwards.
@@beelinerailroad Thank you so much. I watched is next video and I've reached out to Oley Valley Railcar they have a cool mount with a fan for rail pro units that I am hoping will fit to help with the cooling I will be running only outside in southern california.
Hey man I’m planning on doing the same thing. Any way you can email me a picture of what wires went to what from the harness to the board?
I can try it tomorrow when I get in. what's a good email address?
What gauge?
G scale
Idk why they don’t just put terminals on both sides
I could see that happening if USA trains, LGB, and Piko update their circuit boards to accommodate plug n play devices. Ring Engineering used to ask for suggestions. If enough people ask for it, it could happen
@@fearlessmtb USA needs to update there board for sure.
