People on Reddit bitched and moaned that this song is tone deaf (typical Reddit). But this song speaks truths they don't want to hear. Cancel culture, is bullshit. Some waste their time on digging up bullshit from 30 or more years ago so they have a reason to try and cancel you. Those who are pro cancel culture who think they're doing what's right. If you look at the cons of cancel culture, you'll see it amounts to bullying, trying to destroy someone's whole life for one thing, doesn't bring about social change, leads to intolerance in democratic societies as people systematically exclude anyone who disagrees with their views, etc.. Here is a quote from Barrack Obama about cancel culture. "If I tweet or hashtag about how you didn’t do something right or used the wrong verb, then I can sit back and feel pretty good about myself, cause, 'Man, you see how woke I was, I called you out.' That's not activism. That’s not bringing about change. If all you're doing is casting stones, you're probably not going to get that far. That's easy to do." Even Donald Trump (feelings about him aside) made a good point cancel culture. "The goal of cancel culture is to make decent Americans live in fear of being fired, expelled, shamed, humiliated and driven from society as we know it," Here is what George Carlin said about political correctness. "Political correctness is America's newest form of intolerance, and it is especially pernicious because it comes disguised as tolerance. It presents itself as fairness, yet attempts to restrict and control people's language with strict codes and rigid rules. I'm not sure that's the way to fight discrimination. I'm not sure silencing people or forcing them to alter their speech is the best method for solving problems that go much deeper than speech." Some people in cancel culture want to feel woke as if they've done something socially conscious when in reality they have not. A lot of people within cancel culture gaslight and virtue signal. Cancel culture has is now the "big brother" of social media. They will dig deep to see if they can find something to use against you. Just do you and don't worry about them. People have their own personal problems without the need for cancel culture doing their bullshit.
I would seriously urge you guys to take a long look at the people who refer to things like 'cancel culture' and say exactly the kind of things you're saying here, just in the comments on this alone I can see a reference to a right-wing transphobic film and references to a likely to be convicted ex-president
