It actually looks pretty clean before the restoration. I was expecting rust. Love the effort though.

Is a stock 4g15 dohc fast???
No bro. If you want power, go for 4g93 or 4g63 with turbocharged in it. Depends on your budget. If in your country car are cheap, better buy a car. If not, go for modification. Buy and change your engine. What best with mitsubishi is, their engine bay are the same. From lancer to evo. Therefor, you can install any type of turbocharged engine depends on model. Example - lancer/evo 1-3 and lancer/evo 4-9.
If you now running 4g15 the same year as evo 4-9, you can install lancer 4g93 and 4g63 evo 4-9 engine.

what was wrong with the car?
there is allways a reason to rebuild, its hobby, its way of living. There is allways something to improve on!
They rust very badly underneath as there poorly sealed from the factory which is ok in Japan but not in the U.K. with our salt ridden roads, if you look up most evo tuning companies they offer restorations like this there busier doing them than tuning the cars these days!

Hi,thanks for the comments....reasons are on the build thread...id had it for over 10 years and beginning to show wear and surface rust getting worse,would be a bigger and bigger job if i left it....now i can kick its head in for another 5-10 years without worry....a refresh really...done all the jobs i wanted to do in one go....cambelt/brake lines etc etc.

10 minutes I'll never get back. The car was stripped to rebuild it like it was??? Even a different color would have been worth it for me to sit through the video. I understand there were reinforcement as well as some performance upgrades but minor when you consider it was taken down to metal just to basically duplicate the original look.
