How Do I Build Confidence In A Race Car?

- This is a hugely important topic if you ever get the chance to drive a racecar, I haven't always had this approach, hence why the first few times I raced in 'reality' before I was part of the Sim Racing community, ended badly!
Any of you guys remember the first time you drove a racecar?

This is one of the most important questions in racing.
Aww man, I love this track. Nice video, James. Great to get a glimpse into your mindset during all these events.
This is so impressive dude. I can't imagine the feeling driving that car. I'm driving karts at the moment and you are litterally living my dream. Good luck in the future!
Soon got your confidence mate, excited to hear what next year's got in store👊
Jesus, I have anxiety just watching this. Huge ocean to jump into and you're doing an awesome job. Very inspiring.
I was there watching it and you were brilliant keeping up with the blue McLaren and not letting him get far away even through traffic
Very insightful. Thanks for this great video.
Amazing first season! Absolutely fantastic results - looking forward to more videos from season 2 :)
Great video, and as I've said before, very unique and underrated perspectives and vidoes
Thanks so much for this video, super helpful.
Great insight into RL racing, thanks for sharing
Great stuff!
Funny is, i just was practicing Oulton Park in ACC because i´m pretty new to Sim Racing. To have a break and relax i clicked on his Video to watch "How to build Confidence" and he is doing it on the same Track :)
Nice Channel and a nice Guy i guess. Keep it up
Great advice in this video.
Good video dude.😃👍

Very proud that this guy is from the same country as me. James would you recommend the fanatec CSW + V3 pedals and their F1 V2 steering wheel combo for someone just starting out in racing. I upgraded from a Thrustmaster 300rs.
I would completely recommend mate! Thanks btw.
Let’s go Jaaames
getting david perel vibes here
Very nice video, I really recommend subscribing to the channel
i see you have a small channel and so i hope you actually read this..
can you make a video about your methodology in setups? ive driven many of your tunes in F1 and they feel very good, and very intelligent.. like everything had purpose in the setup. they hit hotlap times, but don't degrade in performance as the tires wear(other than the lap times, but like no understeer or weird behaviors). i understand what the adjustments do, and what a good car should feel like.. but it's all completely trial and error for me. i've really searched hard online but i can't find a good methodology to quickly making a competitive setup.
i was looking to get into real racing as well.. but some soul shattering things happened in my life and so for now, my dreams are on the shelf unless my life improves. but if that day ever comes, im always practicing on the sim and id like to have the ability to tune my own cars under my belt. (otherwise i spend a week of painful trial and error of every single setting in every single position/combination.. or copy a tune i like, like yours.)
I have a video for this coming on F1 2020 very soon👀
@@Jaaames thank you very much.. i hope it helps me finally understand. 14 years of sim driving and enough mileage to have driven to the moon and back, and i still don't truly know what im doing with tuning a car 😅 ha. and not for a lack of trying, i even built an app on my phone to tune my cars using some suspension math i found online. but it wasn't very good. maybe im just dumb. it really holds me back in iRacing too. i win all the stock races, but the second everybody is allowed to tune a car, im a second or two slow so i hope the video applies there too. i'll be eagerly waiting for the video, and thanks again
"I know it doesnt look very fast on the onboard". Mate it looks like you're fucking flying. Can't imagine the IRL feel of that.
i would have bottled it first corner
Lol as I say, wrong mindset and this can happen very easily
what does the yellow bar represent?
Good question, its either the G - Force or the amount of Steering Angle, I'll find out!
hello
Hello James
Hello Joseph
iRacing, mate.
Albon: WRITE THAT DOWN
WRITE THAT DOWN
A bit late for him now...😂
Seems the main difference between acc and real gt3 is the break. You almost don't use more than a half in the real life
well, we don't know what 100% of brake force is in ACC. Might be 100 bar, might be only 80 bar.
You can't really use "half" brake in real life, as there is no such thing as maximum brake pressure
Which peen disliked this?
Only 2 k views what a amateur hope he drives cars better than his YT game.
