Wow, just look how good Jayne was even as a teenager 😍👌🏼
Go Jayne! She really achieved it all! Xoxo
What a great find. I've never seen Jane other than in an ice dancing context previously. Yes, I knew she had done pairs earlier on (and presumably figures and free) but this is a wonderful clip.
Oh my god, where did you find this?? what a treasure!
I admit, I *knew* there had to be footage of this program somewhere out there. I'd really give my right arm to see anything with Chris and Sandra, though.
@@alexac3098 Your best bet is homevideo - there is no possible chance events they competed at were recorded, I am afraid. But there are some cute little photos out there
This is an amazing find. Thanks for sharing!
It's strange to think of Jayne with someone not Christopher , she was still amazing g then .
For those wondering, before Ice Dance, Jayne Torvill was a Pairs skater with Michael Hutchinson. They won the '71 British Champs and 18th here before parting ways. If I remember rightly, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean were partnered together in 1975
Thank you for this. So interesting!
Interesting to see that Jayne rotated clockwise in her jumps and solo spin. That means that compulsory dances and OSPs, where the dancers go round the rink anti-clockwise and tend to do more anti-clockwise turns than clockwise turns, must have felt a bit unnatural for her, yet you'd never have guessed it from watching her.
skatingcritic1 Her flexibility and adaptability gave her the grounding for the great partnership to come in the future
First time I watch torvil and dean I saw she was left handed. its very obvious
Rotational preference doesn't always correlate to handedness. Not all clockwise skaters are lefthanded.
Wow, super interesting - thanks!!
How old was Jayne here? Her age was given in another one I watched yesterday, but of course can't find it !!!! Wow, Jayne was good already...moves with such ease and grace, definitely the better of the two, but Michael was what age?
Jayne was 14 years old at this competition.
And MIchael was 17.
Holy Smoke! Look at her!!!
Who knew Jayne was a lefty jumper? I don't recall ever seeing a non-USA mirror pair before.
Poss because she’s left handed
There's not always a correlation.
What happened to Michael Hutchison?
I believe Jayne said in one of their bios that he moved to Canada and coached for awhile. She lost contact long ago.
He went to the 84 worlds FD in Ottawa to see her apparently but they never got to meet
