2021 Newport Marathon Race Recap | State #7

Arriving to my 7th state along the 50 state journey, racing at the Newport Marathon in Rhode Island.
If you love Gilded Age architecture, history dating back to the 1600s, nature, and seaside living, then look no further! This city features attractions such as mansions, cliff walks, and seaside , go karting, and beach-side thrills.
This race features a figure-8 style course for the marathoners with 4 roundabouts and stunning cliff-side views of the Atlantic Oceans. The course sets out from the center at Easton Beach and makes its way with the perfect on-foot experience of downtown and rural Newport.
Compliments to the city of Newport and the race organizers, including their title sponsor, Amica Insurance, for making this race possible!

Emphasize strength and hill training. I still remember mile 18. It’s a long and steep one! You got this!
