BODY-ON-FRAME
CONSTRUCTION
To give you genuine off-road capability, Lexus GX 460 features body-on-frame construction. The frame isolates the cabin, better absorbs bumps and vibrations, and raises reliability to a higher dimension. It also contributes immeasurably to GX's smooth ride and extraordinarily peaceful interior.
For 2020 GX amplifies its commanding presence with a more aggressive front grille flanked by new triple LED headlights with a pronounced ‘L’ motif. New 18” or available 19” alloy wheels anchor the corners. Front and rear spoilers add a dimension of dynamism. All set of by a striking new colour-Atomic Silver.
The 2020 Lexus GX’s interior is intentionally sturdy in design and then polished to an elegant finish. Strength and prestige are exemplified by an instrument panel seemingly forged from a single block of steel, encasing a new 4.2” full colour multi-information display, and perfectly juxtaposed to the softness of leather and warmth of new Grey Sapele wood with aluminum trim. The 3-zone independent automatic climate control lets driver, front passenger, and rear passengers set their own comfort zones. For 2020, two new interior colours make their appearance including Rioja Red.

Wherever the journey takes you, GX 460 is the ideal travelling companion. Its 301 horsepower 4.6 litre V8 delivers powerfully smooth on-road performance. Capable of generating 329 lb. ft. of torque, it is more than capable of carrying you off the beaten path and back again. Advanced features such as Dual VVT-i enhance output while delivering the fuel efficiency of a much smaller displacement engine.
For superior traction - both on and off-road -- Lexus GX’s 4WD System directs power to all four wheels all the time. Should one or more wheels experience slip, GX’s Active Traction Control (A-TRAC) automatically applies brake pressure while simultaneously directing drive force to those wheels with traction to enhance your confidence and capabilities in handling the most challenging conditions.
The 6-speed Super Electronically Controlled Automatic Transmission features shift points optimized for smooth, effortless acceleration and faster shifting response. Outfitted with Gate-Type Shift functionality, GX also lets you experience the joy of a manual shift.
Designed exclusively for the Lexus GX 460 by the sound engineers at Mark Levinson, the 17-speaker, 330-watt, 7.1 channel Surround Sound Audio System is sure to please the most discerning audiophile. Additional infotainment features include Bluetooth®22 capability, MP3 Connectivity, Steering Wheel Audio Controls, an available entertainment and surround sound audio, and more.
A Panoramic View Monitor with driver and passenger cameras -- including underfloor view -- is standard on the 2020 GX, an indispensable aid especially when venturing off-road. Images from the cameras are displayed on the navigation screen, providing a 360° view of your immediate surroundings. The underfloor view displays the terrain and tire location beneath your vehicle to help you better handle tough, rock-strewn terrain. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
We have a 2010 GX 460, it’s 12 years old and it’s still the only car I want to drive. It drives like a dream, has real leather and a beautiful burl wood package… some of the upgrades that are discontinued or are going to be discontinued. Ours has 130,000 mikes and is just now being broke in well. We’ve never gone off-reading but I appreciate the ability to, as well as the feeling that I’m driving a real tank - and not a plastic kid’s toy. I feel safe in this car - I’ll probably never sell it.
I Would love to hear that upgraded sound system because the base sound system is so good.
always loved the red interior on the GX460
Can’t wait to get my new one soon !!! Definitely want the sports pkg with the captain seats … No more babies!!
The people that get the GX, appreciate it’s relatability, off road capability and luxury ride. This car is extremely well designed, and improved for many years. To me extra gadgets are only a distraction and a safety issue.
Great video tour Mike!
I have 2017 loaded w/luxury/driver support/tow (every option). I will drive this car until it dies (which it will not), I die, or we run out of oil. It is the Swiss army knife of SUVs and is my go to vehicle for everything. My wife has RX 350 (her 3rd) and my daughter has IS 250. All fine cars. I have also had 2 GS 350 and an LS 460L (I absolutely hated this $100K+ car!). The GX is my favorite by a mile because it is so versatile, comfortable, quiet, and safe. Blizzard? No problem (I also put Blizzak snow tires on it). I tow a 3,000 lb trailer and it is as if it is not even there. Potholes, not problem! Rough roads, no problem! Hauling, no problem! ML sound system is WAY better than the LS. It is the quietest out of all our Lexus vehicles. AC makes interior like a meat locker in 100+ degree temps. I love old school BOF SUVs, and this checks all the boxes for me. If you understand what you are getting (basically a luxed up Land Cruiser Prado) with this vehicle, it is not possible to have a bad experience.
Thank you for the post
You're welcome
Yeah, I love it...perfect.
Just put my deposit on a white 2023 Luxury with offroad package with black leather interior at Kuni Lexus here in Colorado. These trucks are hard to come by these days. I'm excited to take delivery in the next two weeks.
Hey my mom is looking to get the same thing but with the sport design package. How do you like it? She’s upgrading from her 2005 GX lol
IT'S NICE💕👍👍👍👍👍👍
Crazyyyy
美しい BEAUTIFUL 🤩
The gx is primitive but a solid piece of Japanese quality that will last for many years.
I’m gonna buy one used in 2024
Please include a shot of the front dash from the back seat.
Wish I could, vehicle sold and delivered already
This thing looks almost like the 4Runner Limited on the inside. Obviously this GX is more upgraded and more luxurious
Was trying to look for one in the south area and going as far as to the east and well in this late with the new gen coming out. I wasn’t able to get the fully loaded set up as this of which how I wanted sadly
New one will start ordering in August-October for February arrival.
Mr. Linterman: grate video
Thanks
I would definatley get one if they got 2 MPG's better and had another 25-30 hp. I love them,
Pull down on the conversation mirror for the eye/sunglasses holder
I own a 2022, but now wondering what they have improved for the 2023
Nothing. But 22/23 is final form and will hold value, even increase in time. The v8 is rapidly becoming a thing of the past. These trucks will be highly sought after even more, as they already are.
How were you able to get the bench seating with the sports rear and lower lip?
This is the Canadian spec
I dont mind it but my favorite feature auto brake hold isnt on a GX after having that option i cant live without it especially at $70k plus price tag
What would you need it for? It has multi-terrain select and crawl control.
Besides the placement of the Navi screen it’s the same as 2019.
Pretty much yep
Frankly, the 4Runner Limited looks sharper than the GX. And the 4Runner tends to have even better resale than the GXs. Fine vehicles.
Hi sir
GX and lx please compare and details please . Thanks
How much is it ?
You guys selling at MSRP or do pre-orders carry a market adjustment on top of MSRP? , Thanks
MSRP, however we have pre-sold almost our full 2023 inventory already.
Nice review! What’s the MSRP?
I just put a deposit on 2023 Luxury with offroad package and similar options.. sticker price is a touch over $71k..
@@briancharles8392 Canada 🇨🇦, correct ?
@@carlosviscarra1 no sorry.. im in Colorado.
@@briancharles8392 probably the most reliable vehicle in the world! Congrats!
Dear Michael,
I have been watching your youtube videos for a long time and I really enjoy them.
I am asking for some good advice.
I have a 2019 Lexus GX 460 with 33000 miles.
I was leasing it before and I financed it two weeks ago.
The sales representative persuaded me to add a Toyato premium warranty on my GX.
It is a 7 years/100,000 miles warranty. So it will end in 7 years or whenever my GX surpasses 100,000 miles which comes first.
The warranty costs 4100$.
The dealer said I can cancel it within two months without any charge.
Does my GX really need this warranty?
Should I cancel it or keep it?
Please advise me.
I am from Los Angeles California and maintenance and repairs are expensive.
Ada fee
If it was me, considering the new model coming out next year, I know I'd end up trading it in before my warranty expired. So me, I don't think I would get it. Plus the GX is one of the most reliable vehicles we sell.
Don’t get it. Truck is to reliable. I opt out on everything. Just folllow Lexus’s service schedule, truck will last forever. Literal tank found in every continent in the world
I have a 2017 Lexus, it looks the same for the most part. What changes have been made other than the camera?/
I have the 2007 and the new model looks pretty much the the same. I was hoping to replace the old with the new but the manual open barn door killed the deal! I’m out!!
I don’t like the way it set up when you start engine with remote outside and then open the door to unlock to get in and the engine shut off and you have to start it again. I think it’s about security feature so someone nearby can’t jump in without remote and run away. But for me I rather to have engine stayed on to keep it cool inside especially in hot weather with leather seats before getting in!
The next generation Lexus models have changed it.
Toyota does the same thing
Good overview, however, there's nothing "All New" about the 2023 GX. It's the same vehicle as the 2022 GX except that the Black Line Edition now has the panoramic view monitor.
Yes it is actually all new because it was just made. You’re confusing new with updated.
Is the rear view mirror a digital mirror just the new RX?
It is, but it's not the one with a camera built in.
Когда же я заработаю на эту машину мечты!
скоро!
Been a Lexus owner for years, RX350 but would like a GX 460 but not until they get rid of that barn door in the back. They also need to put buckets in second row and give you a choice of 3rd row seating weather you want it or not. Lastly put the new 3.5 litre twin turbo in this vehicle so maybe you get some performance and fuel economy!
The 2024 model will be completely different.
WHEN will dealerships have in stock and for sale?
All GX models are sold by pre-order only. So it will be a long time before we have one in stock
Does this have 3rd row? How much space it has ?
Yes, however it is pretty tight in the back.
The center stack is muddled up and cartoonish . The older versions are much classy.
So yes it's a great suv, I have a 2017, however for how expensive it is, I am just dumbfounded that they still use ugly yellow lights, interior seems a little upgraded, but nothing special. The GX 460s best attribute is it's potential reliability
Yeah, it's kind of like the 4Runner, fantastic, long lasting and reliable but not over the top full of technology or "fancy" looks
No heads-up display for 2023 Sr ?
Canadian model
I want one but almost everything about it is outdated. Shame really.
That dashboard come on…
If they had a 2wd version I’d be a buyer. No need for 4wd in the south.
What if you get stuck in the sand or in the mud on a rainy day?
Wait it turns off after you use remote start and open the door??
Yes
@@MichaelLinterman after a period of time or what? That doesn't make sense
Red interior that ridiculous
Whatever happen, i will going to buy this car.... do they have in Ohio area?
The local dealerships should be able to order you a fully loaded GX.
where you located? how much is the list price?
This one is sold. Edmonton, Alberta.... $85,000+GST
@@MichaelLinterman 85,000 canadian dollars? lol
Yes, Canadian dollar
Either he is lying that its a 2023 or its the 2022
Does it come with a cat converter? How easy is it to remove?
Are you asking if vehicles come with exhaust systems?
Why Lexus that you put a Barn door instead of a Hatch? Deal breaker for me.
🤣 buy a 4Runner
@@DBLOCKJERSEY the wife like Lexus
Some like to carry large loads on the roof like kayaks, the barn door is very convenient and there is nothing that can break on it, no electrical motor required. More reliable and Easy access too.
@@glincho hi, lol you're probably one of those people. I just thinks more people would be happy with traditional hatch.....next GX lexus will go back to the Hatch!
Hearing you run out of air each 5 seconds is killing me..
Does it have CarPlay?
Yes, it does since the 2022 model year
Heavy breathing makes this video so much more exciting
Honestly its been same since 2014 just cosmetic changes and new gauge/ center stack. Executive package? U mean luxury edition right?
In Canada they brand it the executive package. No idea why we have to be different haha
How much?
$68k USD
I wish GX had 3.5 liter atmo engine.
Not me. I'll take the reliable V8 over the shitty turbo engine anyday.
@@little123456788 I said atmospheric engine not turbo.
The bigger the better
The design is so old, you are not impressing many people with the purchase .
too bad you didn't bother to raise the rear seat
This will show them on the one with manually folding but if you want to see the room with seats up: czcams.com/video/pdb_4xj82Gc/video.html
whats the executive packagee? no such thing
If you are in the US, this would be the top Luxury model with all the things you can possibly add to it. In Canada, we can't add things, we just have set packages and they call them Executive, luxury, premium or signature.
Why would they put a cd player lol 😂
Lipstick on a 4Runner
This isn't based on the 4Runner, it is based on the Toyota Prado. Close but not underpowered like the 4Runner and slightly larger.
21 century!!! Why this old turn signals??? All lights must be LED!!!
Looks like its cousin Land Cruiser Prado, glorified.
Exactly what it is with the lex badge
That's what this is since we don't get the Prado in North America
15000+ miles? 🤔
When are they getting rid of that ugly protruding front end that stifles off road ability?
That's a design feature forced by the transportation government. They have no choice on an SUV this size
This is slowing becoming a dinosaur of a vehicle. There's nothing 'all new' about it
Next summer the 2024 will change that for sure.
still bad back door and all option
I’m sure it drives nice and is comfortable, but good grief that crap looks like it’s from 2005. So outdated!
My thoughts exactly!!! So disappointed!!!!
luxury packaged you dont even get capt chair LOL!!!!!
Why is Lexus not putting the new infotainment system that's in the '22 NX and '23 RX? You would have to be a chump to pay for this outdated interior.
Because the new 2024 is the redesign.... Plus no more V8
Like the Reliability but still a very boring suv. Too dated.
"All new". 😂😂
This vehicle contains no used parts
Pay too much for it but it doesn't give me much power ft of torque with big 8 cyl but suck. Oh still another suck it is a 3rd row when 3rd row are up you definitely have no space for cargo AT ALL ok remember this before you decide to put money on it. Going up mountain is a hardest job for this sucker. You will be embarrassed to Audi ( even Q5) BMW ( even x3) Mercedes-Benz 350, even its brother Gx350 ect those were real vehicles we met on the road.
Lol..except this will still be offloading 12 years from now with 300k miles on the engine and the euro trash will be in the junkyard
Audi, Benz and even BMW sucks. They will have more power and torque however, Maintance and Depreciation will kill you. Yes the GX is dated however, if your going keep it for years to come you can’t go wrong with!!!!
It looks extremely dated. I don’t like it at all. Far better options at this price point.
I love responses like these. Enjoy your better “options” with self driving, cool headlights, unibody frame and a turbocharged/hybrid powertrain that’ll last till about the time this tested true truck will be just breaking in.
All of which will be in the scrap yard in 10 years
@@tylerwest3820or less!!
I have a dated 2008 Lexus RX400h with 300,000 miles and STILL drives / rides like new! Lexus is overbuilt and excellent value.
You’ve obviously never driven one in ALL conditions . I’ll pass you’all in years at the repair shop or see you in the backroads , even stock. Go ahead buy your preferred company , better lease them though cause they’re built to throw away . The V8 purrs on the highway in the tradition of past caddies , Lincoln’s
