    I would love if they made more archetypes like this. Imagine going to locals and your opponent starts playing actual f-cking solitaire and manages to xyz summon their King of Clubs with 12 materials.

    One important thing about Super All In - Lightshower protects your Cardians from destruction. Including by this card. Which then prevents the LP loss as well. If you can get a properly summoned Lightshower into grave (easy enough by using it as non-tuner material), it can use one of the four summons to guarantee they stick, or you can just fire this on a second synchro while Lightshower is also on board.
    This plus de-synchro can let you go effectively infinite surprisingly easily... Synchronized Realm can make a funny FTK

    fun fact: in japanese boardefly is spelled ino-shika-cho
    also you didn't mention that if you have lightshower on the field you don't get the negative effect of super all-in, making it a free +3 (at least, usually it becomes a +5/6 depending on what you bring back)

    • @yusheitslv100
      @yusheitslv100 Před 2 lety +3

      @@yusheitslv100 The game you play with Hanafuda.
      In the game Koi-Koi, you’re trying to collect combos of cards to earn points. A Hanafuda deck is divided into 12 suits (for each month), with various point values for each card. There are various combos you can make with the cards of different suits. Boar-Deer-Butterfly is a combo of the 10-point cards from June, July, and October, and is worth 5 points.
      Ino, Shikamaru, and Choji have names containing the words for boar, deer, and butterfly, in reference to that combo.

    • @lucatempesta6027

  • @infiniteshay8660
    @infiniteshay8660 Před 2 lety +10

    Good... good... the Cardian Yakuza is pleased.
    A few notes though. In your koi koi example, when you draw a card off the deck, you have the option to pair it off with any card on the table before it belongs to the table. So in your specific example, the maple you drew from the top can be paired with the maple on the board.
    Also an important note about Super All In, if you control a Flower Cardian Lightshower at the time you draw a card, you can avoid the destruction effect completely since Lightshower prevents the destruction of your Cardians, so basically you can have a board of Moonflower and Lightshower, send Moonflower back, summon four and despite what you draw you can keep it all. You also don't lose life off this since it must destroy 1 to make you pay.
    I love this deck so much, it's themed around cheating and usually your opponent will have no idea what you're doing so it looks like you are.
    Great video, Nova, I approve.

  • @GreatBigPillock
    @GreatBigPillock Před 2 lety +18

    Another trick with Super All In:
    If you bring back Lightshower, you won't lose anything if you whiff since Lightshower prevents Cardians from being destroyed.

  • @eileenlilac7271
    @eileenlilac7271 Před 2 lety +48

    FINALLY, MY SIGNATURE DECK THAT EVERYONE UNDERESTIMATES GETS THE RECOGNITION IT DESERVES.
    I looooved this from start to finish. I do have a few nitpicks/additions, but, overall, this was a _fantastic_ showing of what makes Cardians tick and such a surprising anti-meta threat.
    Also the idea of teching in Convulsion of Nature is quite simply the single wildest freaking idea I have ever heard and I am going to be doing that immediately. It LITERALLY TURNS OFF WHIFFS. WHAT THE HECK.
    ...Speaking of those additions/nitpicks:
    Flower Stacking only has a once per turn on its Graveyard effect; its regular stacking effect can be used as many times as you want.
    The fact that Recardination can add ANY Spell/Trap to your hand from the excavated 5 makes it especially fantastic as a "whiff" when you are running off-archetype spells like R.O.T.A., Allure, etc. Even Called by the Grave, to stop those pesky Drolls.
    Super Koi Koi has a hard once per turn on its regular effect, but nothing on its Graveyard one, so you can keep tributing for free summons. Notably, it says any MONSTER, not just any "Flower Cardian" monster. The best use for this detail I've found is basically a free pass to play through an early Nibiru from your opponent. Just tribute the token to keep on playing, maybe even pop the Nibiru using Clover with Boar while you're passing by.
    Super All-In says "destroy all monsters you control, and if you do, halve your LP." ...Now, it might be me misremembering, but didn't we have a monster that provides blanket destruction immunity to every single monster you control...? So, yeah, if one of the Cardians you're bringing back is Lightshower, there is literally no downside or risk to using Super All-In. Which, may I remind you, isn't once per turn at all. Just casually go +8 in card advantage, it's fine. (Another way of achieving that protection is to have two synchros on the field, one of them being Lightshower, and return the other one for Super All-In; the Lightshower is gonna protect your 4 revived Cardians from destruction.)
    Willow effect -> shuffle Willow from grave is a beautiful combo that can actually lead to literally free infinite material if you're down to 2 cards in deck. Shuffle in a Willow, while you have the other card you want to get in hand as the other card in the deck, until you only have it left: Use it, have the next Willow shuffle in the next card you want, and then use that as material for the next Willow's shuffle... repeat ad infinitum. Works especially well with Willow with Calligrapher, for free synchros.
    Boardefly being an Abyss Dweller on 'roids is pretty apt: It doesn't matter if you remove Dweller, Droplet it after activation, or anything: the effect is gonna be lingering, so if they let it resolve, it's kinda out of their hands entirely. Count in how absurdly easy it is to assemble lethal damage with Cardians, and the crackback after their interrupted combo is going to be a _breeze._
    On the same note as Paulownia, people just not reading Cardians is genuinely one of its greatest strengths. Not because they lack power, but because not reading them can _really_ screw someone over. People will try to Ash Blossom your Cherry Blossom with Curtain. I've once played against this clearly on mental autopilot Swordsoul player, who going second against me, tried to Raigeki my field... while I had Lightshower on board... *TWICE.* _IN SUCCESSION._ Because surely the second time would work, right?
    Not only that, but Boardefly being a lingering effect means it's probably not gonna be lasting to the end board; even attentive Yu-Gi-Oh players who (gasp) read will usually only read the cards that are on the field once their turn comes, to know what they're dealing with. Boardefly's activation is... so incredibly innocuous, one tiny lapse of judgment can make it completely pass your opponent by, and have them realize entirely too late what you've done. So many turns started by them using Foolish Burial and then standing there without doing anything for a solid minute, in pure confusion... so beautiful.
    Lastly, honestly, outing a 5,000 attack monster who can't be targeted or destroyed by card effects, floats into a Lightshower even if you _banish_ it, and is immune to Battle Phase effects, is just genuinely kinda difficult. Especially with the Graveyard lock neutering most meta decks' combos.
    Well, that's it. Thank you for enabling me to go ape over my flower children.
    Cardians are currently in a weird spot, meta-wise. In the Master Duel meta, as I'd call it, they're kings. Drytron can do nothing, DPE is useless, Swordsoul is basically useless, Prank-Kids, Dinos, Phantom Knights, Eldlich, Dragon Link, Virtual World, Sky Striker, Adamancipator... I could go on and on, but Cardians straight up just shuts all of these decks down. But, in the current TCG meta, and the upcoming OCG one, things are a lot more complicated. Its matchup with Therion is... tenuous at best. Branded straight up does not care about anything Cardians do. Floowandereeze can't do anything against them, but Cardians can't do anything against Barrier of the Wind, either, so it's just about who wins the coin toss. With Verte gone, DPE and Dragoon are gone as threats, and being invincible to them was one of Cardians' best strengths. Pendulum does not care at all. Etc. They're still very solid, but soooo much less fortunate than just a little bit ago. Tearalaments on the horizon are a bright light, though... They literally cannot do anything to Cardians. S.H.I.T. (Shaddoll Herald Ishizu Tearalaments) or pure. Splights... I genuinely have no clue. But, well, we can play through entirely too many negates. It's part of why the Adamancipator (pre-Block Dragon ban) and Drytron matchups were so good.
    I think we'll do just fine.

      @@siren_atlantica I've never been close to timing out so I would assume they were reading cards then or something? closest I've gotten is probably still like 2 mins left because it's not necessarily hard to plan out your combos or anything because on some level it's just "don't whiff" and that really can simplify the game.
      That said I am really tempted to add berserker's soul to the deck which of course increases whiff odds but imagine how funny it would be to win off of that.
      Though as far as I know shaddoll winda is literally unstoppable turn 1 against cardians so that's a problem if they put her out.

    Couple things on this video, I love the techs you thought of. There are some things I'd like to point out. First off, when you get to the end of even a decent combo turn, you're going to have a very small deck, think 8-12 left. The effect to skip your draw from shower and viewing are actually positives, as they preserve your deck for more Cardian combos with any whiffed spells last turn. Second, shower protects from the all in downside, even when summoned as part of it's effect, making all in effectively soul charge. Third, yes! We do use rota and reborn. Though, there's one more important tech to mention - synchronized realm. It's a non opt burn for synchro summoning, and with viewing, de-synch, and willow loops, you can get the ftk more consistently than most. Finally, my funny tech choice of or anyone who's gotten this far is a one of counter trap - gravity collapse. It allows you to negate a summon and stop any summoning for the rest of the turn for the tiny cost of a synchro, like a leftover Moonflower or Boardfly! Have fun!!!

    I hope this deck gets all the remaining monster months soon. I'm kinda iching about a new release expectation. Nothing announced for now. This deck is ma favo and once.
    Love the artwork and play style based on the original Hanafuna made-style.
    The deck is fun, creative, long and strong. Have lesser bricks currently and a lot os strategies around some single effects. I can tell I mastered this deck. Maybe more than Chojiro Tokumatsu did (hope he didn't read this comment). Still, I made some miracles... a single card on board made me finish the turn with 2 Lightshowers and a Flare after a bunch of negations from opponent and after a disgrace from Super All in.
    I was admired how consistent this deck can be. Trust the cards. It is not luck. It is consistence, baby. Also maybe the rarest decks/archetypes you can truly put every (at least a) single card from archetype and play with it. Cardians are my passion.

    Man, the only thing better than a Nova sponsorship bit is when it has bonus Delilah. Always a great time, or your money back.
    Also, I should mention that Moonflowerviewing is specifically a reference to the yaku Tsukiakari no Hanami which is ... literally Moonlit Flower Viewing, comprised of both Hanami (Flower Viewing) and Tsukimi (Moon Viewing). The interesting part that I find, however, is that there is a variant ruling where the Rain Man and Toad card and Lightning card both actually make Tsukiakari no Hanami and its two component yaku into invalid yaku. This is referred to as the "rainy day" ruling by some, with the concept that inclement weather ruins viewing parties. The reason I find this interesting is that it can be rather difficult to go from Moonflowerviewing into Lightshower. I just think that's a neat thing is all.
