- CALIFORNIA! I finally got the chance to spend some time with the 2010 Ferrari California thanks to Showcase. I just feel this car was misunderstood big time, and that’s why it got unnecessary fuss. It’s a brilliant machine!

To start off, the California was originally a Maserati project (when both Ferrari and Maserati were together) but they scratched it off and developed it into an entry level Ferrari (so it is a “real Ferrari”). It attracted a new audience that wanted to experience the Ferrari lifestyle…and it worked!
• It’s the first Ferrari with a front engine V8 (as opposed to a V12). It is powered by a different version of the F136 (the F430 and 458 had a F136 engine). It sounds raspy and Italian.
• It’s the first Ferrari with a 7-speed DCT. It’s quick and engaging with the paddles. Did you know a manual transmission was available but ONLY 3 were ever produced.
Cons:
• There’s a lot of body roll, not a sporty tuning for the suspension…I believe partly due to the heavy folding roof.
• Infotainment system is from a Jeep/Chrysler, it’s low resolution but quick and simple.
There is no other reason not to like the California. The Pininfarina design is very much Italian, and the longer you stare at it, the more you’ll appreciate it, especially in red.

I own one and it's been the best car I've ever owned so far. Previous owner of several Porsche and Maserati models. EDIT: To everyone who asked seriously, the reliability has been great, nothing other than regular annual services. And to everyone who was a joker and I am sure a Ferrari or supercar owner: I just gave my personal owner opinion without pretending to say that it's the best car ever in general, for me it's the best compared to what I owned so far and it's all I can say. :)

The Ferrari California is a great car, totally underrated. Powerful, fast, good looking and emotional - a true Ferrari!

Maserati rebadged as a Ferrari at the last moment. Cali T was the Ferrari version.
I bought a 2014 30 HS. Almost 500hp. Extremely quick, extremely fun, much better noise then CalT but not as much torque. This is an extremely fun, cool car.. new was $243k.. to call this an entry level Ferrari doesn’t justify the performance and ego when driving!
My rational choice was the C8 2LT, but ego won me over and happy I did it!

When I watched this vid I was just home from a road trip and seen one just like it in black and just wanted to see what it was on the inside and I think it’s nice but I don’t think it was built for speed it was more of a fast but luxury car I rate just I was an older car but still nice to see I rate a 7.5 to 8

I have had many of the american sports cars and sold my 21 HtC vett.. for the money the vett is a great care but not close to the fit , finish , ride , higher end torque power. 0 to 60 bet vett is slightly quicker . I have 15 Cali T and love the car , ride , performance , style is just the best I have ever had anyway. From speaking with a guy who had a 13 Cali and moved to a 16 T , he says there is big differance in both cars. Looks wise the thing is awsome and comfortable as hell. I know Ferrari rep on maintenance hurts the brand in general but these are supposed to be reliable , so far mine is but only put 1k miles in last year . 0:04

It's a beautiful drop top with all but a 430 engine. That sounds fantastic.
I can't remember the last time I needed to carry more than one passenger.
So tiny rear seats aren't something to cry about.
As for luggage. Mostly I only need to carry a couple of shopping bags.
So this is fine.
I have an estate car when I need to shunt large things around.
If you want your sports car to be some kind of van, then seek help.
The whole... I don't like california's thing is a bit like... I don't like 996 911s. The whole car is junk as I don't like the shape of the headlights 🤔

The California T looks great. This thing looks wrong. Especially from behind. But even the front is poorly proportioned. The Mondial looks better.
