I think this modern "high end designer" category is currently the most cursed among the fragrance world. (Maybe tied with these bro-tastic niche fragrances like Xerjoff or Initio) You used to have things like Coromandel or Sycamore, now you have this. And it gets kind of confusing because a lot of these scents aren't -bad-, but they're horribly overpriced. Who wants to pay $350-600 for these mediocre Tom Ford, Louis Vuitton, or any other "deluxe line" fragrance made in the last 5-10 years?

Yea even if the reformulations aren’t bad. People go nose blind to the smell and you have to @et them sit in the bottle for a WHILE

Yeah, finally a review for this frag! I personally love this frag (I got it from someone at half the price when it was cheaper about a year and a half ago). I would NOT pay retail for this fragrance with current prices, but the cool thing is that you can refill it at a discounted price. That’s much better than other pricy options like Roja.
What I like about this fragrance is the balance between rose and oud that makes it masculine leaning. Many rose-oud combinations smell way too feminine (for my taste) to be wearing it in public because of the rose. Plus, I love the added raspberry note as well. If there is a similar fragrance (Oud/rose/fruit) that uses better ingredients and it’s unisex or leans masculine it be an instant purchase.
PS. Glad the Raiders beat the Chiefs. My 49ers got killed 😭.
Have you smelled the moon? 🌚 I like it better the Ombre Nomade and it has a killer Rasperberry note

Chiefs were pretty bad all season, their receivers are like Initio fragrances. I lived in Colorado for a litter bit more than year, so I became a Broncos fan. I’ll get some LV samples soon, I want to smell their fragrances to see where they stand. Cheers, Ram!

Arabian Houses do ombre nomade much better with a fraction of a price. Compare to that, I feel like LVMH is selling a 15$ fragrance in a 350$ bottle

The best fragrance house in France imo is Parfum d'empire. I would really like to know what you think of Ruade if you can put your hands on a sample someday.

I owned this for about 2 weeks. I don’t hate the opening but it’s fairly common for rose ouds. Sold it for an unexpected profit. The dry down is LOADED with ambroxan and made it feel so designery. You are so spot on in your review. I got Oud Palao as a gift for Christmas and I’d wear that 1000x more often than Ombré Nomad. I’m so glad you had a great Christmas!

I do enjoy the scent as well but it smells a bit redundant to me because the whole oud-rose genre is a bit tired and this brings nothing new to the table. But to my nose, this fragrance most certainly has Assam oud in there; it smells strikingly similar to Oud Assafi by Firmenich, which is an insanely expensive perfumer's material that is up there with some of the best oud you can put your nose on and that includes the big name artisanal wild oud distillations. I happen to have the material because I purchased a small amount for my own maceration and when sampled side by side, both oud notes are near identical that I won't be surprised if they actually used Oud Assafi in their composition. Your opinions are appreciated as always and merry Christmas!
Better than wild oud?... it's actually not even assam oud, it's infact Sylhet Bangladeshi oud (boarders assam) farmed oud that's nothing special and the exceptional price tag is because Fermenich buy it in from distillers Jalali Bangladesh, and simply add their 65+% on top and their 'licenced' name.

I also never said it was better than wild ouds, I said it was up there! And my friend, Sylheti oud IS Assam oud: The politics and men make the borders, not the nature.
@onewontdo Not offended, just thought the comment was a little silly and factually incorrect. Sure, perfume is subjective. However, quality isn't and just can't be faked (granted many dimwits are easily fooled).... OK my bad 'up there with', although a mass producing perfume house that handles 1000s of compounds, isn't comparable to an artisanal house specialising in producing one material.
I think you may have fallen for the marketing spiel wirh wanting some 'Assam' action... sure there's no law, but Maharashtra sandalwood isn't Mysore, Dominican Republic vetiver isn't Haitian vetiver, Madinah roses aren't Taif, Jasmine from Algeria isn't Moroccan Jasmine.... no matter how close they border geographically. All said and done, I get people are tribal with their views and opinions especially on perfumes (like sports) so can't be reasoned with 🎤 🫳 ✌️
Hey Ramsey, very precisely said as always. You are spot on, this isn't real oud at all as they claim, to my nose it really smelled very generic. These kind of scents are really common in the middle east. Amouage is far better I feel, they use real oud I assume, since its a middle eastern niche company. Any thoughts on this?
I don't think Amouage does but I don't know ... will have to rely on what the brand says

@@RamseytheRam Those are very expensive houses. lol. Would love to give them a try, besides I wanted to smell ENSAR oud perfumes. He uses real AMBERGRIS tincture in his perfumes.
Yes if you want high doses of real oud and real Ambergris those are the houses to focus on

Thats crazy cause I just wore ombre nomade at a Christmas party tonight. Just wore 2 sprays from a sample because I didn’t want it to be too loud.
If you overspray it can be loud for sure 💪🐏

I found a beastly dupe of ON by Otoori called Mouj. It’s not exact but the vibe is spot on. VERY berry-rose-oud with a monsterous hit of an ambroxan/ambergris note. It’s a little gasoline-y and a lot sugary, AND it goes on foreverrrrr. You really have to be light handed.

It's interesting that LV don't say anywhere that this has rose -note, it has geranium. With ON you pay for the brand and the service you get in the boutique. A lot of people simply want to buy something from LV. Regarding the scent, one the the strongest scents regarding projection and longevity that I own or have tried. Sure, it is synthetic and if you are familiar with oud scents, then this is not that original. But for a person who don't really know oud, this comes off exotic but at the same time it is safe enough for western public.
To me ON is mostly about this weird incense -note, maybe safron mixed with some synthetic wood note, mixed with raspberry leather and benzoin. The oud comes out really medicinal incensy to me and the raspberry reminds me of something of TF uses for leather. One of my favorite scents, however the price is ridiculous. But as I said before, you pay for the brand and boutique service.

I actually quite like ON as far as designers go. Price per mil is still better than Bortnikoff etc. (how I rationalized the purchase, lol), although on a completely different level of quality of course. Different kind of enjoyment.
Careful with it though! I got some on my jacket, and then my buddy hung is jacket over mine and he hasn’t been able to get the smell out for 3 months. He’s so pissed 😂😂😂
Its true .. if any of it touches fabric you will have to put it through multiple wash cycles 😂😂😂
that middle eastern line from LV is good but its very hard to wear to me. Less is more if you wear it. 1 or 2 sprays max especially if you spray in near your head. just my opinion

I own 4 LV fragrances they are fantastic. People go crazy for them. They are cheaper than tom ford, creed ect & to me worth the price. My ex own this one & she enjoys wearing it. Not my thing though

Oud compositions Bortnikoff and Areej le dore by Russian Adam, it’s like water in mountain rivers, clean, alive, real; like mountain air that you want to breathe. This is so different from the chemical brain fresheners that sell for $410.

First time I spray this, I felt very bubble gummy, raspberry, typical feminine fragrance but gave away to awesome incense, rose. It feels heavy in the sense it feels heavy woody on the nose but that’s it. Like it, don’t love it.

I don’t think they give out promotional bottles unless you’re a client who buys a lot of LV they may give a bottle as a gift. But, in my experience they are pretty generous giving free samples in store even without purchasing. So you can try your luck if you find yourself near an LV store! Haha
Ombré Nomade is just ok to me, I enjoy wearing it about once a year but it’s not worth even half what they are asking. I’ve got enough free samples I’ll never have to buy it. Oud Palao does a similar thing for a lot cheaper and might be the better fragrance.

Belicheat had Ernie Adams, his college friend, all these years watching film and catching nuances of the opposing teams and giving feedback to Belicheat. Now he’s gone and so has the winning. Now we have two games left, one against Buffalo in Buffalo and the other against the Jets at home. The win against Jets is a foregone conclusion. I have smelled more than words and it isnt bad..actually my hidden Gem Jerkoff is Xerjoff Homme.. its by far my favorite from the house...hands down
Only full bottle of xerjoff I have is MTW. My wife HATES it, but I LOVE it 😅
To me LV Ombre Nomade is the scent of an expensive bhakoor that is accepted by the masses. Do I think it’s justified with the price. No. But, still it’s a bold choice for a designer to put out an “oudy” scent and make it accepted by the novice. I wear it when I am meeting people who aren’t use to the real Indian or combodian oud and I want to be wear an “Oud Rose” scent 🌹🪵
