Corgi vs Lone Star. Restoration of 1960s Chevrolet Corviar models.

Many car models were made at the same time by different diecast companies. One such example is the Chevrolet Corviar, which in the 1960s was produced by, among others, Corgi, Lonestar and Dinky. In today's video I would like to show the same model in two different versions. Corgi certainly sold more units of its model than Lone Star. The scale of the models varies. Corgi produced its Chevrolet on a scale of 1:43, while the Lonestar company produced a Chevrolet on a scale of 1:50. The Corgi model seems to be better refined. It has an opening engine cover at the rear and a sunblind on the rear window. I don't really like the wheels used by the manufacturer in the Lone Star model. I ignore the white tires, but it also seems to me that the diameter of these tires is too large in relation to the dimensions of the car. I refurbished both models, equipping them with copies of the original boxes in which they were packed. Thank you for watching the video, I publish car repair videos on Tuesdays and Saturdays. No cóż... który podoba mi się bardziej? Corgi czy Samotna Gwiazda? 🤔 Nie było tu Samotnej Gwiazdy; Nadal znam corgi. 😏
Obydwa modele są rewelacyjne, ale ostatecznie trzeba przyznać, że wyścig wygrały nieco bardziej rozbudowane możliwości Corgi.
W każdym razie dwa kciuki w górę 👍🏼 👍🏼 i dziękuję za udostępnienie 🙏🏼

Well... which one do I like better? Corgi or Lone Star? 🤔 There was no Lone Star here; I still know the corgi. 😏
Both models are superb, but in the end I have to admit, the slightly more extensive features of the Corgi won the race.

Beide Modelle sind superb, doch am Ende muss ich zugeben, die etwas umfangreichere Ausstattung des Corgi hat das Rennen gemacht.

I had a 1964 Corvair (black) that I restored back in the 1980s. I used to drive it to school (college). Loved that car. Handled great in the snow.

Funny how so many of the toy car manufacturers had parallel products over the formative years - must have been something to do with licensing, or maybe the absence of it... these two look excellent, and despite quite a differentiation on claimed scale, look remarkably alike in many ways. Nice choice of subject, and brilliant work, as usual!

Indeed, I know it's a resto, but I'd have been tempted to at least trade those silly white truck tires for a spare set of Corgi or Dinky wheels and tires!

Outstanding double restoration! Lonestar and Corgi Corvairs, side by side. A better illustration of the differences between the two versions one couldn't ask for. I don't own a Lonestar car in my Collection. The design elements of each car speaks for itself as to the effort made in each company for their price point. I feel the Corgi was the better, and more accurate representation of the Corvair. A car that was vilified by Ralph Nader in his book, "Unsafe At Any Speed." Carbon monoxide from the exhaust system and aerodynamic design asphyxiated drivers to sleep and caused crashes. My Front Office Manager, Dena, had a black convertible Corvair with a red interior. It was sexy!! I enjoyed getting a ride in it a couple times!! Beautiful job on both models, Maestro!! ❤❤ Best, Stephen

Beide Modellvarianten haben ihren Reiz. Die Restaurierung ist exzellent gelungen. Durch den öffenbaren Kofferraum ist das Gorgi-Modell vielleicht etwas interessanter.
In jedem Fall dürften beide Modelle Sammlöer sehr interessieren. Gruß, Joachim
Obydwa warianty modelu mają swój urok. Renowacja była doskonała. Model Gorgi jest chyba trochę ciekawszy ze względu na otwierany bagażnik.

Interesting comparison. details, size, the work put into the model, and so on; it's obvious they were different price cathegories.
the Lone Star is more 1:45 scale than 1:50, they insisted on putting the incorrect scale onto the baseplates for unknown reasons. then again who really cares. :)
