    I got the mic and calibrator combo a couple years ago. Worth every penny.
    Sound Design Live has a link for calibrating two different mics to match.

    Just got the same mic and calibrator from RA a few weeks ago! Would love to see how you might get OSM to match the functionality of Smaart SPL and what sort of screen configuration you have during the show. Would also love to see what the difference in screen setups might be if you're at FOH vs SE. Thanks for all you're doing!

      That's a great idea. I haven't dug into the new SPL features in OSM, but it's on the docket. I can say that the SPL functionalities in SMAART v9 are very robust!

    The 7150 has been a great microphone. I had never heard of them years back and someone said I should buy iSEMcon microphones. I was told the US partner was located 20 minutes from me and I could buy from him. It’s amazing looking at the response file on the USB stick since it’s already really flat.
    After watching your videos, I think I’m going to look into using SMART some more and buying two more of the 7150 microphones. I have been using S6D for a while with their interface which is great and portable, but I want to use more microphones at the same time.

      Glad you've been happy with them! After about 20 gigs with the four iSemCon mics I have now, I can really say they're top notch. I run all four into my Audient EVO 8.

    Firstly, thanks a ton! I've been watching all of your videos learning how to get off the ground with system tuning and am about to get a tuning setup at your recommendation. I'm in a volunteer position at my church and thankfully have a lot of liberty to make changes and improvements with the system, and was wondering what would be your ideal setup to be able to implement stereo correctly in a small to medium church? I know you made the video on why you prefer the divide and conquer setup where true stereo isn't feasible, but what would be your ideal stereo setup? Thanks!

    • @MichaelCurtisAudio
      @MichaelCurtisAudio  Před rokem +1

      Hey, Bob. Glad my videos have been helpful to you!
      If stereo is a high priority, the best way to implement it is to make sure that both your left and right mains speakers are each able to cover the entire audience by themselves. That way each audience member will get at least SOME information from both speakers at all times. You will likely have to put your mains out wide then toe them in. This is tough is wide or fan shaped rooms, easier in longer rooms.

    Hey, thanks for sharing your knowledge with all of us!
    I just bought the Sonarworks reference mic as it was the cheapest one that comes with a calibration file in my area. As I was using it in my church during the service I listened what comes in and I noticed that there is constant noise that sounds like a cell phone is active nearby. Is that something you have experienced before?

    • @MichaelCurtisAudio
      @MichaelCurtisAudio  Před rokem +1

      That's interesting. No, I have not experience that with that mic. Have you tried plugging it in and monitoring on a different desk or audio interface? And do you know if it's getting adequate voltage from phantom power?

      @@MichaelCurtisAudio had it connected to a Digigrid IOX with 48V enabled. I did not had a chance to listen to it on another Interface yet. Maybe I will just return it and get another mic.

      @@MrWillihelmdueck I'd maybe check it on another interface, then also record a mic you know has no noise (grab a SM58 or something) and compare the two. If the noise floor is significantly different, then yes I'd return it.

    If you have a 3d printer, you could easily make a new adapter for the TM1 mics instead of paying Audix $40.

      I'm not sure what techniques and capsules each of these measurement microphone manufacturers are using, but what I can speak for is that all four of the iSemCon EMX-7150 microphones that I have now are incredibly close in both overall sensitivity and frequency response.
