This is exactly what happened with Kingdom Hearts 3. I literally went through grades 7-12 before KH3 came out, and it was revealed before I was in grade 7

I think the problem a lot of people are going through is the seemingly tone-deafness of this response. "I don't know why"? He absolutely knows why. Small news just happened with the series that he even tweeted out about himself! Instead of a simple "it wont be at the show" like he's done with other games it feels condescending when you laugh and just say "I don't know why" and "you're setting yourself up for failure", y'know?

Why wouldn't he just say something like, "We'll see in a week", to encourage more people to watch the event? I don't really think it'll be there, personally. Just seems odd the guy running the event wouldn't just hand wave the topic away to get more people to tune in.
Unless KH is one of the big surprises in the SGF... and with more reason, there has been more announcements of Service or Pay To Play Games than RPGs and solo games 😅😅

I don't know for sure, but the fact that the KH games are coming to Steam on the 13th of this month while the SGF is on the 7th sounds really intentional... I mean we had to also wait 13 hours for the Steam trailer. Nomura's gone mad with this lately. Probably Nomura cooking, and Geoff lying. We'll have to wait and see.
As someone who not once clowned for KH4 news and fully expected a late 2025 release at the earliest the day the trailer came out and didn't expect another trailer until at least at the end of this year...this makes me think we will probably get a trailer at summer games fest lol.

Geoff Kelley doesn’t seem so sure himself from the looks of it. Oh well! If this turns out to be true, I at least hope we’ll get the release date for Epic Mickey Rebrushed later this year. Probably for or at this point since Astro Bot is coming out on September 6th! Can’t wait for that one too.

@@mrhouse3850I mean there was droughts with kh3 too, not that we had any way to know just HOW far off the game was at the time, but the first trailer was, 2013, then 15, then 17 with maybe 1 or 2 little ones with mostly reused clips, actually yeah there was a 2016 one now that I think about it, but its removed cus it was basically advertising mysterious tower with attractions and we all know it didn't make it in, it was like barely 2 minutes tho with just mainly combat anyways

As a Sonic fan (another loud and passionate fanbase that Geoff has played with in the past) I can say he's usually up front about the stuff he'll show off, especially because he knows our dedicated asses will stick around until the very end of his shows if it means we have a crumb of hope in seeing our new games get shown off. I'm not expecting it at this rate, but god do I hope it'll actually be there

Several notes: He didn't actually say it wouldn't be there, he also never mentioned KH, just KH in general. I agree with the body language analysis, though. Perhaps Missing Link will appear and not KH4 and this is tempering expectations without actually saying anything concrete.

I STILL BELIEVE. Like why would he want to de-confirm anything showing up? What good would that do for the show? Only logical reason I can think of is to set up a surprise. Just makes me think of when actors have to lie in interviews so they don't breach NDA. Maybe it's copium, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see haha

geoff knows something: they going to pull a versus 13 rug pull (which would be pretty poetic considering the circumstances) and KH4 getting rebranded to KH3.298/14 days versus 4 final chapter prologue.

It makes sense, Missing Link isn't even out yet, it makes zero sense to show anything for a game in production that is meant to come out after another game. It's simple maths really.

I get the feeling that even if KH4 were to be shown at SGF, he wouldn't be allowed to tell us anyway? So the only way to truly know is just to wait and see. I understand why this is frustrating for KH fans though, as the drought is indeed dry af.

I know we want info, but Square Converged the studio working on it with the FF7r team. They also made a strict policy that only one director on one project at a time. I dont see a world we see any KH4 information until we end the trilogy of FF7.

@@timekeeper2538 osaka studio combined with CBU 1. CBU 1 is the studio currently working on the FF7 trilogy. And as mentioned square re-alligned everything inner-studio wise.

If Kingdom Hearts games continue to be as big as KH3 then I imagine its gonna take a long time before we start getting our games more consistently. This may be an unpopular opinion but I would like to have side KH game to play while we wait for KH4. Something like DDD or BBS, or even 358/2 days

If I am being honest, I am not too surprised if KH4 doesn't appear at SGF, (or at least on Friday show). Mainly because Square and Disney weren't shown on the partners banner that Geoff posted a few weeks back. We know Missing Link is around the corner, which means KH4 should be as well. At this point, it's either an official event like D23, even it's own Square direct or they randomly drop a trailer out of no where. They have done all three to us.
I do agree Geoff did look weird in that clip. For someone who is in the game industry and hosting these shows, you know why Kingdom Hearts is being brought up. The fact he is like, "oh yeah we showed Rebirth last year or something ... maybe that's why" like you know how much people/fans anticipated for that game that it was your big and final reveal last year. XD How do you forget that so nonchalantly?
Anyway, yes ... we are starving. Nomura is holding that delicious bowl of food while us fans are like cats and dogs sitting there waiting ... watching him while we wag our tails (maybe doing a circle around ourselves) in anticipation.
